  1. I think Bigi, the yoof, etc have all got a touch of the "better cos they aren't playing" thing.

  3. For the doom and gloom among some I am relatively happy with the business done and think we'll be comfortably this season if not outstanding. I've spoken to quite a few Hearts fans (downside of working in Edinburgh) as well as 1 Thistle fan and they all think Sammon could be an absolute steal if we use him correctly (i.e use him in a 2 and don't just always pump ball up to him) Top 5 is set with the city teams this year I reckon. Then, I think it's between us, St J, Killie for 6th with Dundee, St. Mirren, Accies and Livi fighting it out for the bottom two spots. League - Mid table. Fighting for 6th and ending up 6th. League Cup - Qf Scottish Cup - Qf

  4. Agreed, Dom Thomas was a terrific example of that.

  5. IMO a midfield is all about balance If you look at whose played in our midfield 3 to date Cadden, Campbell, Grimshaw, Rose and McHugh (if you class him as a midfielder) are all of similar style/type Strong , make tackles, break up play, run with the ball .....none of them can make a telling pass Bigi and Gorrin can take ball from back 3 and link the play without resorting to 40/50 yard diagonal balls (Gorrin what little we’ve seen of him looks like he can tackle) Yet in our games so far a combination of the top 5 have made up our midfield 3 against Div2 and Championship sides. Gorrin used sparingly and Bigi not at all ......On Saturday when Gorrin came on he was always available to take the ball of the back 3 and actually passed the ball on the deck to a Motherwell player. We really need to get the midfield 3 soreted ..... It was reported that we were chasing Gorrin in the January window get him in during the summer then don’t start him

  6. Or better because everyone else is playing so badly? I will admit that due to work commitments, the Clyde game is the only game I've seen but on that basis Donnelly looks no better than Maguire. The midfield in the first half seemed to be lacking something So it's understandable that people are looking for alternatives within the squad...

  8. I’m not sure why this was but certain podcast apps were missing the final few minutes of the new podcast. This issue has now been resolved, the run time of the podcast should be 54:42. Any problems can be sorted by simply downloading the file again. Next week’s aim - no issues at all!

  9. I agree the abuse he gets during some games is ridiculous and not conducive to producing your best football. My original comments above werent intended to come across that way. More to question his selection as MoM on this occasion. Although to be fair there was very little competition.

  11. People keep complaining about the youth needing to be pushed through but it's usually the same people who bitch and whine when they are inconsistent and not willing for them to take the time to learn and develop. If we can somehow blood in 1 or 2 youngsters a season it would be a success in my book.

  13. Two hopes for this season. 1) We don't get relegated 2) Two teams with plastic pitches go down and are replaced by two teams with grass
