  1. As long as its not Conor Sammon changing his name to get a club, then that's ok.....

  2. With Sloth an unknown and no youngsters currently knocking on the door, I felt we lacked a little depth in midfield. Bringing in a player of O’Hara’s calibre and versatility is therefore a very welcome addition. I’m also content we haven’t brought in a striker. Unless a quality player like Lafferty could be enticed, we are best to go with what we have. Long is settling in well, Scott has immense potential and Cole started to look the part on Sat. Given that we should comfortably avoid relegation, there is no need to invest in reinforcements.

  3. No issues with the Tanner situation, it is what it is. Wish him good luck. However saving a Tanner on the wage bill won’t help much. Ok I’ll get my hat and leave !

  4. We took a (probably inexpensive) punt at retaining a player who could do a job for us, whilst showing that we are a club that stands by its players. You’re right it is a business, and part of our business is trying to find ways to attract and keep players we might not otherwise get, that involves some creativity and also putting out a good image of the club. It didn’t work out and we lost a couple of months wages, but was a low risk attempt at doing the right thing.

  6. Not defending him without admitting he has a lot to learn. But on one occasion second half Robinson screamed at him to cover back when we were under pressure, which he immediately did try to do. Literally seconds later Donnelly was screaming at him to get up the field having covered the area the Manager was pointing out. Once again with our wide players it's trying to get the best of both worlds in attack and defence. Its a tough and confusing ask for someone so inexperienced. More seasoned players than Seedorf have struggled to play that dual role....Ainsworth and Frear as examples. Remember Omar Daley?. Hopefully Seedorf is a quick learner. Ability and attitude wise I think there is something there. The goal he scored yesterday shows that. And to say he did nothing else is just not true. You conveniently ignore the chance he set up for Scott. He contributed more for us than the likes of Horgan did for Hibs....and many regard him as a good player. I get Seedorf is a frustrating player and he probably would not be my first choice. And maybe he won't make it. But Hylton and Ilic can also be just as frustrating . Scott did really well yesterday, but try telling me he made the correct choices every time he had the ball. Awareness of teammates and realising when to pass will come in time, but those are things Scott needs to develop. Compared to those three Seedorf is miles behind in game experience at a decent level. It's a huge step up. Confidence also plays a huge part, and again those three are in a better place. Players that we sign are unlikely to be the finished article. Some will have more to learn than others. Some will not make it and eventually leave. But please let's not crucify a young lad who is doing his best and is on a huge learning curve. Particularly after he scores in a match we actually won by a street FFS. But then, we need scapegoats if Dunne is not playing.

  7. No it's not, if the original contact / foul is outside the box then it's not a penalty,

  8. Quality player like Lafferty who managed to get himself sent off in his first game with his new club. Thanks but no thanks.

  9. It's not like Hastie has been sent to Raith Rovers. Rotherham are a decent outfit and will be going for promotion in a league which isn't too different to ours beyond the OF. He's still gettting paid a fortune and he should have the opportunity to play first team football.

  10. In my view we really need a central striker so pretty disappointed.

  11. I’ve got a small amount of sympathy for Hastie. The contract Rangers will have given him will have been a once in a lifetime opportunity. He would’ve been crazy not to take it!

  12. Don't agree with this, it was definitely worthy of inclusion so the decision to leave it out was a conscious decision. Also our package was released before Sportscene was broadcast. The problem with the second part is because of the dearth of coverage of this it will overlooked. No mention in Sutherland's BBC report and probably only covered in a few newspaper reports.

  13. Mark O'Hara ex Dundee seems it's between us and Killie .I think he would be a good addition to our squad

  14. Despite being a public corporation, the BBC's Scottish sports unit acts like a commercial entity hence the obsession with Celtic and Sevco. Hibs are a far far larger club than us with a much bigger support. Commercially its much better sense to hack off 4,000 fans than 17,000 fans. Speculation on my part of course.
