To be fair to mazinga.....the 3 attempted clearances in a row is something you cant coach!!! Heh he2 points

The point is not without its merits. Although it lies more at those responsible for recruitment rather than our CEO. Manzinga and Mugabi are easily 2 of the worst footballers I've ever seen. Neither should be anywhere near a professional football team. We needed a striker, we signed another 2 wingers. Arguably we should have been in for another centre half and a full back. Though we've got a winger on trial so that should sort those issues out...2 points

One day they’ll invent giant buildings with football pitches in them.... Id scrap the winter break, playing Wednesday Saturday through December and February to accommodate it makes a complete farce of it.2 points

The media team have rightly received great credit in recent years but fan engagement doesn’t appear to be at the centre of the current model. I appreciate I’ll be in the minority but I’ve enjoyed watching the coverage of the u20s since Erwin and Moore were banging them in. Highlights supplemented with interviews from JJ and Craigan offered an insight into the progress of likely prospects waiting to come through. Such was the engagement, it prompted me to head along to the odd game if it fell on a day off. Erwin, Moore, Cadden, Thomas, Campbell and Turnbull were much talked about before breaking into the 1st team. Now beyond Semple (primarily due to the hype at u16 level) and possibly Cornelius through word of mouth, I’m very much in the dark about who’s next in line to make an impression in the first team. The greatest insight on youth development this year was courtesy of the mfc podcast interview with Mo Ross.2 points

Out the cup because of a completely unacceptable first half performance. Our first 45 minutes was a disgrace. Even in the first five minutes there must have been 10 misplaced passes and players looked like they didn't care a jot. No doubt Hartley and Mugabi will get a lot of grief and I'm certainly not going to defend them but you defend as a team and we were all over the place for that half. As I said at half time we didn't even have a shape or set up with two banks defending, the full backs and the midfield need to take a big share of the blame, they were totally unprofessional. The comeback, as welcome as it was, was on the fortuitous side (two wayward crosses and a deflection) but even then we looked dodgy when St Mirren were on the ball and I think a couple of our penalties are still in the air. Fair play to Tait and especially O'Hara who at least came on and looked interested. We crossed over into unacceptable territory tonight, big changes needed for Saturday.1 point

Not at all. But the 'get it up ye' to fellow Motherwell fans is a bit much...1 point

All the people crowing seem to think those of us criticising the team will be disappointed. Quite the opposite. But anyone who says that first half performance gave any cause for hope is lying...1 point

Must be about the same vintage as me then. Personally, I have found living on the other side of the world has Ivey me a slightly more relaxed perspective. I still hate it when we lose, and am disappointed when we play like shite, butI don't let it completely spoil my day.1 point

Never boring being a 'Well fan, eh? (Also, get Gallagher's contract extended as it seems he's the only player we have that can defend).1 point

Come on, we dont need Hastie when we have quality like Cole/Ndjoli, Seedorf, McIver,Hylton & Ilic.1 point

Obviously it won't happen and I'm not advocating it but managers have been sacked for less...1 point

Gave tonight a miss but the only surprise is the margin of St Mirrens lead. Our lofty position at the turn of the year was flattering in the extreme and a reflection of how poor the rest of the league was. After a really poor January window, there was potential for our season to go into freefall and so it’s proving.1 point

The English Leagues do it all the time now, even to the extent that I've seen League One games being broadcast live on Euro nights. As far as I know, they just pay the fine (which is insignificant compared to the TV money they receive). It used to be even worse. The old rule used to be you couldn't even play a game on a Euro night, never mind broadcast it.1 point

What a stupid rule. I mind at Hampden too they couldn’t use the big screens as that was live broadcasting except only people there could see them Doh1 point

There is literally nothing about the 'reserves' in the match programme any more. Didn't used to be the case, when they covered it thoroughly with match reports, stats and line ups. Poor really. As I've said over and over, youth development needs to be a completely integral part of our club strategy.1 point
