  1. To be fair to Leckie he did say Craig Samson saved St Mirren from a tanking.

Noticed that myself. Pretty honest on what he did report of the match.

He also pointed out that the decision to booked Hutchinson was so bad that Danny Lennon complained about it.

  2. The wife has given me permission to name the tables at our wedding after well players. I've decided to go down the route of legends the list so far is

    Cooper

    O'donnell

    Pettigrew

    Wark

Dolan ( family connection my dad was his coach at his boys club)

    Looking for some other ideas

I'm doing the same thing at our wedding next year.

Still not sure yet on the best way to pick out the names but we probably will be added St. John, and possibly, McAllister to the list purely because all her family are from Liverpool.

there should be a craigy broon/mutley table for the people you don't really like but had to invite

To keep myself amused I'm going to have 1 table at my wedding named after an absolute carthorse. The Andy Roddie table or something.

  3. Unfortunately it wouldn't be allowed these days.

See to get round that could we not put the players names nearer the bottom of the shirt, under the hoop? A few teams in Germany have this, I think, as they have a sponsor running across the shoulders.

  4. Don't agree with half of these, Kaven and Curcic were class acts and Malcolm, Nevin and Burns all did a job. In actual fact I had a look to see if I could find Kaven, as I was sure I'd heard he had done no bad after leaving here, he went on to be capped 15 times for Finland and played regularly in Europe for Tampere United.

Was Kaven not linked to Arsenal at some point when they were looking for a back up goalie?

    Curcic was a genius.

Nevin was/is a cock but he did score a last minute winner against Hearts in the rearranged game, after Robinson had a 'chat' with the ref at half time of the original fixture with us leading.

  5. See when they eventually change the cross the border compensation rule we will be fucked.

I've been wondering about that. I know a few clubs down south have been asking the FA for the rule on it to be changed, but how would they go about it?

Is it not the same rule that is applied for the player moving up here than it is to, say, Germany or France in that it is a move 'abroad'?

Would that not then make it a UEFA rule change rather than either of our FAs?

  6. Aye - like yerself - I know fuck all but come on here and rattle ma gums :D

The main thing is - I knew you were talking pish

Commsworld was the only 1 year deal we had, so how's that talking pish?

  7. Sorry mate didn't realise you wanted to rattle on and on with yer facts incorrect without any bad people correcting you.

So we have been signing 1 year sponsorship deals all this time then?

  8. It was well communicated at the time.

Although it was a disgrace that Motherwell didn't soldier valiantly on with them in isolation - just to satisfy Jonesy

    Open Mooth Belly Rumble

    Who shat in your handbag?

I'm not carrying this on because it looks like I'm starting to sound like TheLip.

Wasn't really having a go at the club about it. Again, just pointing out the fact that it's not 1 year deals that keeps causing the strip changes, but other factors have forced it.

  9. What needs to run concurrently is the sponsorship AND the agreement with the strips manufacturer.

I get that, but what I was getting at is that even then, it's not guarenteed that it'll be a kit for 2 years.

6 strips in 6 years, but only a single 1 year deal in that entire time. I was only mentioning that as someone said this years deal with Cash Converters was a 2 year deal rather than the 'usual' 1 year deal

Yet even when the manufacturer/sponsor ran concurrently we still had strip changes due to the club cancelling with a manufacturer and Canterbury gonig bust the following year.

  10. that's cos the kit deals and sponsors never seem to run concurrently round here. Sponsor stays? Kit maker changes, or vice versa. That's why we've had 6 new strips in 6 years.

I was just pointing out that even though none of our sponsorships deals are due to expire at the end of the season, we could still end up with a new strip.

Even when we had a year when no sponsorship deals were due for renewal the club decided to cancel one of them.

I wouldn't bet against us having another new kit next year.

More than likely it'll be due to the template we pick this year not being available to order again next year, so it'll be another choice from the new catalogue.

  11. the new sponsor is for 2 years instead of our usual 1 year pish

We've only had 1 sponsor which lasted for 1 year have we not? Yet it's still been new kits every season.

  12. id argue thats a good thing games vs "them" are shite

good chance for us and ict to go top for a week, that would be nice

Meant the 4 actual Old Firm games, as opposed to our games against either of them.

Means I need to put up with all the c***s and their shite all day when they play each other.

  13. Scott Burns of the Daily Express has said on twitter we tried to get Dougie Imrie but couldn't afford him

Accies will be looking for a fee. Wouldn't be overly surprised if he eventually ends up at Fir Park..

Apparently he's on £1k a week at Accies. I'd hope that the transfer fee isn't the only part of the deal we wont pay for. No way should we be giving out a grand a week to players like Dougie Imrie.

  14. Absolutely brilliant deal for the club. Though..

I had been hoping he'd sign a 3 year extension, so that we'd get another 2 years out him before the 'prime time' to sell kicks in with 2 years left on his deal.

That's probably hoping for way too much though.

    Great news all the same.
