  1. What you do with your own money is entirely up to you of course, but if someone decides that £300 (or more) is worth paying for a say, no matter how small, in the running of their club then that's their choice. Also, knowing that your money is being put away to help maintain the financial stability of the club is more than just a "feel good" trip in my book. I like the look of the idea, and look forward to hearing the final details as they become available.
  2. I'll be there if I have the cash & the price of the tickets is reasonable. Unlike a lot of folk on here, I don't really watch any other football outside of Scotland & Motherwell. I don't even subscribe to Sky Sports. Saying that, if a particularly tasty game in the Champions league is on council telly I'll usually give it a watch.
  3. So, when we win will that make us the unofficial champions of Europe?
  4. Hopefully it will be soon though, as that's a cracker of a game to have on our pre-season calendar.
  5. As far as Porter goes, it's perhaps unlikely that he wouldn't come back to us but it's not completely out of the question I think. If he has no club at present, he may think of Motherwell as an opportunity to put himself back on the map. He's already played here so he knows what the script is.
  6. It appears that if Jennings does leave he'll head back down south, which is fair enough I guess. I don't think I could have lived with him ending up at Aber-fucking-deen.
  7. It's clear to see that Hughes would be a very polarizing signing for the club if the reaction on here is anything to go by.
  8. I would think he has more prospect of actually playing at Rangers. Celtics midfield is pretty packed already. Wouldn't mind seeing us going for McCourt if he was avilable on loan! The chant is already there for the taking of "Paddy McCourts steelmen army"
  9. I agree that we should replace players that we choose to move on with someone better, but Sutton left because he was offered a better deal by a bigger club, so I don't think it applies here. Higdon is exactly the kind of striker that we need. Hopefully he can do a job for us next season.
  10. Good point. Let's keep the chat to Motherwell and the cup final from here on lads. If anyone wants to continue the current discussion feel free to move it to the off-topic section. Cheers.
  11. Glad to see Hutchinson sign on again with the club. He's obviously impressed with the plans McCall has for taking the club forward.
  12. Leaking out info before the official site makes the announcement? Have you never read Spider-Man? "With great power comes great responsibility"
  13. A replacement for Randolph? Where's he going like? The last time I checked he was barely a year into a three year contract. I think your being a bit premature with that kind of chat.
  14. A wee pre-season local tournament would be good. Not sure there's enough time now right enough, we only have something like 6 or 7 weeks between seasons.
  15. With the announcement of our first pre-season game I figured I'd throw up a thread for those of us desperate enough to want to discuss our games against lower league opposition this summer. Thus far, we have games with the following sides confirmed; Dumbarton (away) - July 9th I know it's pretty sad, but I'm actually looking forward to going to the game. I miss football already
  16. I'm guessing that a deal would have been struck with Jeffers if he wanted to hang around?
  17. It would appear they were represented at a meeting of clubs that voted unanimously in favour of a 14, so I gather that they aren't in favour of a 10.
  18. I'll be sad to see him go. The last thing we need is a board who will be pushing this top 10 SPL fiasco.
  19. Exactly. He's got to know that even a half-decent season at Fir Park will guarantee him a move to Aberdeen in the next transfer window?
  20. I think that players like Burke would look on our record of taking players on and helping them to kick start their career and possibly decide that a drop in wages for a year may be worth it. Saying that, I won't be holding my breath on that one.
  21. I'm not sure that Fleck has anything going for him that our youngsters don't, apart from an over-inflated ego and reputation of course.
  22. I wouldn't mind seeing Higdon come in. He'd be an ideal replacement for Sutton, and would likely be on the same wage or thereabouts I'd imagine?
  23. Does it matter? He stated that he asked for a new contract at the start of the season, and just after Christmas. It wasn't offered. That's the risk you run.
