  1. i thought the pitch was good in nick last wednesday but was a bit rutted on saturday. the rain might well have helped it. there has been no mention of lasley in any of these injury reports which is good news and should mean the only change from saturday will be craggs for gunning. if las had been out i'd have went for hateley/forbes/page midfield trio. i also saw on ssn that kenneth and severin might be back for united. i've missed giving babyheid abuse but hopefully he won't be playing as dixon usually keeps the humph quiet when he plays lb but struggles against sutton when he has been cb.

what would you call someone who (hypothetically) wants celtic to beat us in the spl so we get into europe? with united and killie only able to get into europe if rangers win the league there could be some interesting games ahead!

we had definite grounds for complaining. (i) there is an spl rule that said clubs couldn't approach each other's contracted employees (ii) as brown is now making he clear he well knows he had a contract under scots law, written or not.
  4. i'd bite your hand off for a draw. it'd leave ict needing two wins or a win and two draws.

i always thought it implied that aberdeen chucked us a wee sweetener to withdraw the complaint. why else would we withdraw, complaining to the spl costs nothing and there was a decent chance of some compo.

if he managed the team in the semi final he would have got his bonus however he broke his contract/gentleman's agreement, whatever you want to call it, and fucked off to pittodrie. he continually told the press he had no contract with mfc when he moved to aberdeen. now he apparently thinks we are contractually obliged to give him a bonus? if he does go to a tribunal and cite some sort of contract we should be straight onto the spl making a complaint about aberdeen poaching him. either way he won't be due anything as you actually have to be employed by a company to be due a bonus. the only thing brown has a case for is incontinence pants.
  7. there's a lot of fitba to be played before the end of the may! in fact never mind that, there's a lot of fitba to be played in the next 10 days. the future is now!
  8. a wee run through the games you mention. the home game i bolded against killie was a really good performance in flash flood conditions. mccall fucked up at ibrox and tannadice but he's clearly learned from that. 3 at the back won't happen again and when we went back to tannadice in the cup we went with two up front rather than trying to match them in midfield. the st mirren and st johnstone matches were nothing games where we were unlucky. at perth sutty cleared murphy's shot off their line and then they get a strange pen. against midden we were denied a stonewaller on las and higdon's shot bounced over randy. you get shitty games like these every season, sometimes you win (falkirk home oct 09, accies home feb 10), sometimes you lose them (hearts home feb 08, killie april 07). ict away was probably the poorest performance. we went up there thinking we would play a bit of football and outpass them and they completely out fought us and put our defence under a lot of pressure. killie away isn't much to worry about either. we were in control until saunders went off, mccall probably made a mistake by taking hateley out of midfield but i think we would have been up against it either way. look at the team we had out that day, 7 out of 10 outfielders 21 and under. our subs were forbes (21), a clearly unfit jones and casagolda (self explanatory.) is a defeat against a bouyant killie side really that much of a big deal under the circumstances? apparently just listing games we lost is enough to damn a manager. does anyone forsee a season where we don't lose daft games and put in a few shocking performances? mccall has a record of played 19, won 8, drawn 3, lost 8. considering the small, inexperienced squad he is working with it's an extremely solid start and should be enough to keep even the manic depressive squad off his back.

  10. anyone else hoping that's the last we see of chris maguire for a good few years? another narky diving performance from the water rat with especially shady challenges on hammell and hutchy. league one obscurity awaits.

    Europe

it looks like it ticks all the boxes. good food. quality birds. beaches. cheap flights from edinburgh. not in the euro. i went for a swim in the sea in reyjakavik. it was bad news.

calm down dear. boyle had a bit too much red wine. brown is the original jackanory. there is zero chance of brown having any dirt on us.

    Europe

i'm not. if we win the cup we're in europe (playoff (nancy, odense) round) if we lose the cup final to celtic and they win the league we're in europe (2nd qualifying (braedlibaek, flamutari) round.
  16. delighted with the result. we looked in control for majority but we struggled in the final ten minutes and ended up hanging in. it wasn't the most eventful game but the odds were stacked against us. we played on wednesday while they had an extended rest. mo ross was making his debut, gunning went off injured, stevie hammell was half fit, hateley is carrying an injury, lasley has been struggling but battled through, jones has been out for a month, humphrey was subbed injured on wednesday, saunders was rumoured to be out for the season and mchugh was back after 10 weeks out. after being so inconsistent it's great to get a couple of good wins in a row. important game again on wednesday, hopefully the doubters will doubt and we'll pull another big one out the bag. i've made my feelings on brown clear in other threads. at the game today i peltered blackman and i'm glad he was like a man down to them, however i met the guy a few times when he was at mfc and you couldn't have met a sounder guy and as i understand it him going to aberdeen wasn't his idea. blackman seems to have suffered much more from the move than we have, i hope he finds a bit of form when goes back to england.

judging by pie and bovril and other fan sites most punters see through him even if they don't sympathise with us. it probably depends on what you what you view as the public. in my experience the majority of people that put their money up for tickets,no matter who they support (including the of), have a good grasp of what is going on in the game. his public reputation isn't going to be wrecked but i think amongst the people who truly care and matter he is diminished. i was played for a fool. i sang his name all the way home from aberdeen when we beat mcghee's team 3-0. i sang his name in denmark. i sang his name at tynecastle when we hammered hearts. i believed him when he said he was sticking by mfc then he shafted us a day later. brown was doing a decent job with an honest bunch of players. he left for more money to manage a bunch of wasters and now he's launched this bitter tirade, it won't have gone unnoticed.

at about 80 mins i said the humph was my motm. after las went down injured then came back on clearly in pain my man crush kicked in so i had to vote for him. chris deserves the award. two goals in two games is superb. props to mo ross as well. very impressed.

mate, i disagree. he thinks he knows what's he doing but he doesn't have a clue. when he left us he shamed himself. he showed his true character and even although the mainstream media apolgised for him the vast majority of supporters in scotland knew he shat on us. the truth and what is reported in this country are completely different things. before he shafted us he had an impeccable rep and legacy. after he done the dirty proper supporters recognised he was a chancer and the lies he has told this evening will only have enforced this.
  20. diamond and hartley are out for aberdeen. normally big zander missing out would be a boost for them but the big slovenian(?) boy is even worse. with him and considine in the middle of the defence you have to hope their will be goals in this for us. i'm not actually that bothered about brown now either but i dare say come three o'clock and with a few beers in me i'll be up for giving him a warm welcome.
  21. if we get to the final said fan is going to need some sort of disguise to get himself into hampden.
  22. that was superb. it was great to see that we still have a performance like that in us 40 odd games into a very long season. walking out the east last night reminded me of the aalesunds game, 3 goals, a clean sheet and everyone with a smile on their face. we've got four huge games coming up now, if we can make the final and the top six it'll have been some season. we completely bossed dundee united from start to finish, jenno and lasley are unplayable when they are on form and the front 4 made it count with goals. hammell and hateley were immense as well and if they were playing with knocks no one would have known. big gunning was top notch to, i think he knew he owed us a performance after killie. there seems to be a real belief amomgst the players right now that we can go on and it win it, you get the feeling that they're desperate for a crowing achievement to what has been a good few years. i think we're seeing the benefit of all the big games we've played in recently - the 6-6 and 3-3, the euro games, the cis semi - as the players seem to rise to the occasion and have confidence in their ability to put in a performance and get a result. hopefully judas broon slithering back into fir park on saturday will inspire the team and the support to keep the intensity up from the off. the banner said 'time for new heroes' and we won't have many better chances to make history, fingers crossed we make the most of it.
