  1. he says on the video that the mutualzation process is under way already and there's no reason not believe that is a controlling interest. the current board seem to be in agreement that this is the way forward and i seriously doubt that anyone actually wants to buy the shares off boyle. it's all about how much it costs to buy and how many people do it. when we find out that we'll have a better idea how it will work.
  2. i think there are about 300 shareholders but boyle owns the vast majority of the shares. looking at the list of shareholders a great deal of them look as though they are people who have inherited them and i personally recognise the names of a few local people who i wouldn't even have thought were fans nevermind shareholders. bolye owns around 200,000 shares which is well over 90%, a clear controlling interest. he says on the video on the official that his shares will be controlled by a mutualized company which people will be able to buy into in and the company will operate on a one person, one vote basis. going by that then we should see a very democratic set up controlling the club. the big question is how much it will cost to buy in as that will determine how many people end up as owners. it seems a bit mental but it looks like a totally democratic set up and the board will be appointed by the shareholders in the mutual company. i'm not sure if it will be an effective way to run an spl club but it will be extremely interesting.

don't worry once we get our fan ownership we can have a vote on banning him for life
  4. the display was quality. unfortunately the bits of card made more noise than a lot of the people in our end.
  5. hateley holiding in a midfield 3 is an entirely different player to playing in a duo. his performances at hampden in the cis and in the final game before the split at tynecastle were immense, he should have been playing that role on saturday. the comment about commons is also a strange one. every celtic fan online seemed fairly certain mulgrew would be on the left and commons the right. gunnings at full back was just the wrong choice, the guy switches off far too often. you look at the games at killie, at tannadice in the league and cup, at ibrox and at home to rangers. he cost us a lot of goals just through day dreaming defending. as everyone has said we didn't use the ball at all well and the game passed murphy by. that is clearly connected to hammell moving from full back to midfield, when he is playing at lb he is generally the guy who brings the ball out and starts attacks. gunning is decent at bombing on but hasn't shown that he is much cop at building play. we actually played 8 different defensive combos in our final 8 matches which is unbelievable. when we have had defensive success it has been due to consistency in selection and there was zero of during the run in (we have also missed reynolds massively but that's maybe for another day) SS SHU SC MR - hearts a TH SHU SC SHM - semi SS SHU SC GG - hearts a MR SC GG SH - rangers h TH SHU GG MR - united a SS SHU SC SHM - killie h SS SHU GG SHM - celtic a TH SHU SC GG - final mccall made an arse of the big game, he's not the first manager to do so. big tel did it the last time we got to a final, tommy mclean put a half fit o'neill on the bench which could easily have backfired, at the fa cup final the other week stoke paid for playing an unfit etherington.
  6. murphy played on the right that day.
  7. i really hate it when i get dragged out the house at gunpoint, trasnported to a game then forced hand over my cash to get in. there really should be a choice in whether you go or not.
  8. with the league starting so early i think we will struggle to get a game against any english teams.
  9. there is no motherwell ideology. the only common factor amongst motherwell fans is that they support motherwell. there are obviously a good number of people who feel strongly about republican terrorism and when confronted with songs like 'roll of honour' and others we heard on saturday will react in a way that most wouldn't want to be asscoiated with the club. on the other hand you also have a number of posters on here who are sympathetic to the agendas of celtic fans. part of being a motherwell fan is facing up to the old firm and that will always involve provocation from both sides and people will react in different ways.

it's the record, my mistake. i've been avoiding papers rags but it was shoved under my nose this morning.

for the people, by the people! we'll need to see how it works, what it costs, how many people take it up, what mechanisms there are to elect a board or bring an issue to a vote but there is a lot of potential for interesting developments. and it shouldn't take up to much time. i'll offer to draft up letters to boyd, mccart, keevins, speirs, waddell et al in my own time.

mccart is pretty honest about being a career man and putting himself first. he should be castigated for slane and gormley before anything else, certainly another person whose presence should be restricted to the bare minimun. if what boyle says about fan ownership is true then at some point in the near future i and many other people on this board will own a significant share of the club. if we do have some kind of direct demoncracy in making decisions then there should be a good number of people being told they are person non gratis in the not too distant future.
  13. i hope the moderator who has been creaming himself every time lennon, reid or mcbride challenge the sfa and refs is feeling a bit of a tit now.
  14. scott brown is a bellend who i will never support for any side. we lost it with the team selection. hateley had to be playing midfield. against rangers at hampden he was immense, he's a true specialist for that kind of holding role. surely saunders could have dealt with mulgrew? playing gunning was a disaster. the guy sold 3 goals up at tannadice and 3 against rangers at fir park. he obviously has his qualities as a player but his positioning/concentration lets him down to often. hammell is superb at feeding the ball to murphy and him not being at left back cost us a lot. in 2005 big tel played marshall when he was ill and we lost it before kickoff once again on saturday.

i've got a lot of thoughts about the game but we've got the full summer to talk about it so there's no hurry. i'm going on holiday tomorrow and id thought i'd give the site a miss until i get back but my blood was boiling reading tom boyd's comments in the sun today. we didn't do our self justice but there is no need to stick the boot into guys that will be hurting massively after blowing the biggest games of there careers. there's no way anyone who is a true friend of the club would have slaughtered our players publicly after a major final and it should be made clear to him that he is a non person at fir park and with plenty of well fans cup winning captain or not.
  16. mhanks have very little grasp on reality. dr death john reid has actually engineered a situation where they are celebrating their team losing and they still don't realise they are being manipulated to revel in mediocrity.
  17. the video on the official is superb. we've had some tremendous achievements recently. a lot of good memories.
  18. surely guesstimate is basing your answer on knowlegde you already have and estimate is after considering the specific subject. it's the difference between a mechanic telling you how much a job usually costs over phone versus actually looking at your motor and seeing what exactly needs done.
  19. there is only one full proof method unfortunately. an escape to victory style arm break. you know it makes sense!
  20. i don't know about that. with a general sale coupled with advertising and promotion i think we could have done it but it would just have meant a larger % of our crowd was made up of neutrals so in a way i'm quite glad we didn't.
  21. although i'm hoping for one more year it would be a fairytale ending for craggs to bow out of fir park by lifting the cup on saturday. as brazilian says he has made the most of his talent and has a first class attitude. one the biggest advantages we've had since we came out of admin is having senior players who have set the tone for the club and craigan has been a huge part of that. despite what mcghee, gannon and diddies on the internet and in the stands have had to say about him he has been a great player for us during a very succesful period for the club and when he does hang up his boots he can be extremely proud of his achievements at both club and international level. if the final is to be his last game then please let us see the fist pump to end all fist pumps!
  22. scottish cup being paraded on an open top bus = roaster magnet
