Disagree completely re the cups. I really hope we make more of an impact in them next season. If nothing else, it seems to be an important part of our revenue.

I was talking to Frazzle about this yesterday. It is frustrating that the likes of Inverness, St Johnstone and St Mirren have all won some silverware in recent seasons. Despite our league performances, we have never been able to turn this into a good cup run.

Its still too early to say really. Just now, with 58 year old Lasley &a fragile Pearo backed up by 2 untried kids, our midfield is utter shite. Defence is just as poor if we get 1 or 2 Injuries/suspensions.Pace & Penetration wide with Marv, Ainsworth & DomTom and a decent looking strikeforce will help massively. But we need 1 quality holding midfielder to partner Pearo,a hopefully better keeper than Long (tho Long wd do as a minimum) and a further quality centre half.

A good centre mid is the key tho. To go with Pearo & Old Man Las is suicide, not seen enough to Leitch & Cadden to say wether theyd be the answer

At the moment,wd be happy with anything above 10th. Tho the potential is there for a successful top 3/4 finish and cup run

League and cup double, no to much?

Top 6 and a cup run would be perfectly acceptable but in all seriousness we should be aiming for second. Aberdeen look big favourites for that but you saw how far we fell in a season, they'll do well to replicate last season's consistency.

I went for top ten (preferably comfortably) and two cup wins ,

and our success in the league, and European football guaranteed , never really turned into an attractive option for new signings, thats changed this year as well after a quite horrific season.......hope the factors that really influence these things also change the cup attitude

Went for top 6, but will bite your hand off for a cup run to semis/final and a 10th place finish.

Really not sure what to expect this season. With so many new faces could take time to gel or they could be real finds and we upset all the odds and push into top 2/3.

Quite excited about the next 12months for our wee club.

We have a positive manager for a change, one who's not a total shitebag when it comes to cup games or having a go at teams!!

Very confident of sitting comfortably in the top 6 this year and a good Scottish cup run.....not arsed about the league cup!!

He managed to make a mess of run in the league so I wouldn't anointing him a big game specialist yet.

If we avoid a relegation battle we'll be doing well.

I expect there to be both a "Bara must go" thread and a "Bara contract extension" thread on the go at various points during the season.

More than likely both at the same time, with neither given a chance to drop to page 2.

I'm hoping to be in the latter but expecting to be in the bara out camp by mid season.A couple of big wins against 2 of the least on form sides in the league and the 2 Rangers games apart it's fair to say he's been shite so far.I'm happy enough to start the season with him but a poor run at the start is to be expected and i'm not convinced that he'll turn it round if we're near the bottom after that tricky run of games.

It all really depends on how good these new signings from the lower leagues in England actually are. Johnston has been a huge success, so hopefully they are of similar quality, however they could be on Strakers wavelength for all any of us know. My gut feeling is that they will be similar to Josh Law in terms of quality, decent, not world beaters, probably dependable but at the same time a mistake being just round the corner. We'll see...

As others have said though, a quality goalkeeper and a re-inforcement or 2 in both the middle of midfield and defence has to be our next priority. I'll take finishing a comfortable 8th or 9th right now, and a season with none of the drama that we had to endure towards the tail end of the season, no matter how enjoyable it ultimately became.

if im honest i will take a league finish anywhere from 1st to 10th.

i feel some fans maybe getting carried away with all the signings with more to come.

we know little about the new guys and we can only hope they gel straight away but if not it may be a slow start.

for me a goalie and a centre mid are musts.

im looking forward to seeing the team play and this should be the time barra is judged as it will be his side without the panic buys.

That is probably a very accurate way to describe it. The reality is, we don't know the quality of these guys coming in and we don't know if they will settle and bed in. We could all get excited thinking we are getting 6 Marvin level signings in!

However 6 Josh Laws wouldn't get us top 6 and 6 Stakers..........

Going to be interesting seeing what Barraclough can do though.
