  1. I think you are very harsh on your assessment of Elliott Frear. People have very short memories that last season he came in to a side absolutely devoid of creativity and upon coming to the starting eleven against St. Johnstone in March, he started the final ten games, in which we scored 12 goals - he scored or assisted 7 of them. That includes setting up Moult's winner against Accies, and playing a part in all three goals in the game which ultimately kept us up against Killie. Say what you want about Moult, I'm also fairly certain we'd have struggled to stay up without Elliott Frear last season. After starting this season, an injury at an awkward time saw Campbell emerge, Cadden put back out to the wing and Tait switched flanks and its been difficult for him to make his way back in. He was the best player on the park against Partick in December, but then picked up another injury which deprived him of a run in the side when others ahead of him were missing. It's taken until the last three games for him to start three in a row in the league all season. His final ball isn't always amazing, but it does seem to me that he manages to get us in a lot more crossing positions than we do when he's not on the pitch. Has he had a frustrating season where we'd have perhaps liked more output from him? Yes. Is he "of no use whatsoever"? Most definitely not.

  2. We all have our own opinions of player ability and formations but there are some ridiculous shouts here.

  3. I’d be going nowhere near 442 after being reminded how ineffective it is the other night.

  4. With 18 points still to play for........and us 12 points off automatic relegation.......I would rather we mathematically secured our place before we started playing the youngsters

  5. Weeyin and Joeboy seem to have some knowledge of football whereas your relentless negativity suggests you're just here to troll the team. Dunne is excellent defensively but his service to Frear (when he has been fit and selected) is not great. The latter needs balls to run on to, not passes when he is almost stationary and has two hulking defenders in front of him, squeezing him out to the line, but Charles can't pass like Stevie Hammell, who latterly was weaker defensively. Calling a player feart in these circumstances is just a cheap shot. Weeyin's point: "Encourages players to pass to him rather than punt it long to Main" is a very important reason for playing him. We are one-dimensional without him, given Bigi seems out of favour with the boss.

  6. Some big assumptions Aldred is here for the long haul. As for 4-4-2... it's archaic. Only to be utilised when protecting a lead. I certainly don't see incomings that will best suit that system.

  8. No thank you, getting hammered off a piss poor st johnstone team the week before a semi final regardless of who the starting 11 is doesn't appeal to me.

  9. Hope the experiment above remains here alone! On a separate note, I noticed St Johnstone talking about appointing a head of recruitment down south; maybe they like what we've been doing.

  10. Thought you would have known by now that some people are at their happiest when they something to moan about Also statistics can be made to fit your end game every time.

  11. Ignoring the fact that two January signings started and two summer signings came off the bench? As others have stated five of the summer signings out injured. Also two of the signings were goalkeepers so only one of them can play. People seem obsessed at the moment with numbers, percentages and statistics and what they can show...

  12. I'd go with Griffiths Watt Maguire Bowers Livingstone MacLean McHugh Turnbull Petravicius Ciftci Scott This game means nothing. Worst that could happen? One of the young guys makes a case for inclusion in the squad for the semi..
