  1. Sorry he's having to retire. Delighted we finally stopped calling him Humphreys.

  2. I get what you are saying, but Sammon and Johnson got much needed game time and came off after an hour, the youngsters had a tough game on Saturday, and Scott and Agyman both got a run out, Sammon scores twice which will do him good, we score 5, Broque Watson was outstanding, Mbulu strolls it and scores again, Livingston scores a cracker, oh and by the way Turnbull and Maguire weren't there as they were training with the first team today, one would presume they will feature on Saturday. I would say thats all pretty positive wouldn't you? Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

  3. I'd rather the reserves were used to develop our young players than Robinson's surplus signings. I've got the impression that Aygeman hasn't played much this season. He should be a priority over Sammon.

  4. Semple is young even for an U20s player, no need to overplay him; especially in the middle of international duty. One post, people are complaining about Cadden and Campbell having to play for the U21s when they need rested, and the next they are complaing we aren't playing 17 year olds against senior pros just after an international game. As for today's game - playing senior pros who need game time was one of the reasons it was reinstated. Not saying I completely agree with the notion, but this is why the club's wanted it back. Robinson obviously hopes Newell can play himself back into contention, so picking a 21 year old to start doesn't seem outrageous.

  5. Saturday past does potentially put Stephen Robinson in a little bit of a bind. The growing murmurings of discontent about formation, tactics and personnel won't have escaped him and the performances from the likes Livingstone, Turnbull and Maguire (Hastie too but since he's on loan it's academic until January) will have done nothing to dampen down the growing clamour for their increased inclusion in the team. I think back to when he took over as caretaker and considered some of his selections then to be quite bold. He gave Allan Campbell more of a run than McGhee had afforded him and brought Shea Gordon in from nowhere. David Ferguson was trusted in a few games and Adam Livingstone got one or two off the bench (albeit that might be Inverness dead rubber I'm thinking of). Essentially though he seemed not that bothered about going with a youngster if he felt it warranted it. Perhaps it was different then because none of these players were his signings whereas of course he's had three transfer windows to help shape the squad the way he wants it and the majority of the first team squad are there because he signed them or re-signed them. Maybe that changes the mindset a little. It would be understandable that he wants to give *his* players that extra time to justify in his mind he was right to sign them. Maybe he wants to give them extra time to come good and prove their worth. I just hope that the loyalty he's demonstrated to a number of underperforming player doesn't cross the line and become a stubbornness and that further hinders the chances of some of the aforementioned youngsters who genuinely look like they could make a positive contribution through their ability, energy and on the back of Saturday what must be high morale.
