  1. He’s our player. Bring him back so we can assess this “out of the blue” knee injury. I’m guessing our medical team are as surprised as we are. If he needs treatment, so be it. We can attend to that. If he is ok, then he is missing valuable pre season training and getting to know our new players. Or Celtic can stump up what was agreed. What’s the alternative? Agree some half arsed reduced terms deal with additional to be paid when he has played 50 and then 100 games? Cue sell on at 49 or 99 games with or possibly without a sell on fee. No thanks. Plenty of time left in this window. If Celtic really want him they will come back, now or when he proves his fitness. He is a commodity they want for future gain. And another good season for him and others will be interested. We are in the position of strength here. We should not roll over and give away our best asset in a rush of panic. Or are we that desperate for the cash? We have done our best for Turnbull in this window but maybe it’s not to be for him.... this time. We have clearly demonstrated we will let him go to advance his career, but it must be on our terms.

  2. I sincerely hope so. I'd love nothing better than us coming out of this looking like the professionals while they look like chumps.

  3. If he’s as good as he is carrying an “ injury “ how fucking good will he be when fully fit. GET THE PRICE UP!!!!!

  4. Stuart Webber, the Norwich Sporting Director, made it clear it was Turnbull's decision not to sign for Norwich. Also had a pop at Celtic' s tweet in the article: - "He was with us on Thursday, talks went well and we rolled out the red carpet - as we would - and he chose Celtic, which was his choice," City's sporting director explained. "Good player, good lad, good representatives, he's chosen a great club. I'm not sure I would have chosen them after the way they spoke about me in the media but that's his choice

  5. Very much a rusty first pre season game I'd say. Johnson had an excellent shot saved in the first half but not much else to report on...those worth a mention: From the first half team - Gallagher looked decent, Semple very busy and got a lot of ball looking to create, Sloth looks like he could be very tidy once up to speed and took all the dead balls, Maguire decent in the defensive mid role Carson Grimshaw - Gallagher - Hartley - Livi Campbell- Maguire Long - Sloth - Semple Johnson From the second half team - Scott looked great on the ball up top but didnt do much to trouble the goal, Polworth did a lot of running, collecting and distributing and looked good I thought, Cornelius got a good bit of ball too and looked to try and create, Donnelly decent again in the middle like Maguire was. Carson Tait - Devine - Dunne - Carrol Donnelly McAlear Cornelius Hylton Polworth Scott

  7. I’ve made up that he has a minor injury and a drug habit, pass it on.

  8. The rumour that I heard today is that it’s nothing to do with his knee but that he’s been using one of Chris Porter’s legs since Christmas.

  9. Well, how the fuck was I supposed to know you're dodging all over Wishaw tracking down answers? There's a lot of people posting what they think is happening, and what they think should happen, but doing so in a manner that makes it look as though it's fact.

  10. I think most people are worried that a “fee they are happy with” will be less than originally agreed. Which would mean we let them shaft us. We shall just have to wait and see how it pans out. I would say though that I think MFC should be driving this to a close much sooner rather than later.

  11. You posting the exact same poor excuses every time doesn't mean supporters need to accept undisclosed fees. If there's not full transparency now a lot of people will be very unhappy.

  12. The issue now becomes fan perception. There is no doubt that this has dragged on for far too long. Couple that with the silence from the club and now the reports in the media, it starts to look like we’re being dictated and “bullied” which doesn’t sit well with the fans.

  13. There should be no renegotiation with Celtic. They are still getting a bargain. If they won't pay the price they don't get Turnbull.

  14. Interesting. Thanks for posting. I like the cut of his jib, that Mr Webster. Don’t really follow an English team, but might keep an eye out for Norwich next season. As. For this whole saga, I really don’t get the perceived criticism of our club over any of it. We agreed a fee with clubs that were wanting to sign the lad and now we are waiting for that to happen. It is obviously dependent on a medical and thatis nothing to do with us. If Celtic come back and say they want to pullout because he failed the medical, fair enough. If they want to renegotiate based on the medical, they should be told that we already have a deal and that any further talks would be along the lines of “take it or leave it”. We should then contact the player and his representatives to see where we go from there. The two issues then would be to help the player get over the disappointment at the proposed move falling through and, most importantly, getting the required medical procedures in place as quickly as possible to help the lad get his career back on track. He is our player and,as such, he is our responsibility until he signs for someone else.

  16. Employers generally take a harder line on disclosure of confidential information than governments do. People only leak if there is some personal gain. Unless Hammell is looking for a creative way to be sacked, there's not much to be gained there. (Maybe the board has asked him to leak to push down our asking price, right enough. Clever stuff).

  17. Because Motherwell FC isn't MI6. UK cabinet meetings get leaked before they are finished but it's obviously unpossible that anyone would discuss Turnbull's transfer.

  18. Why would Hammell be leaking confidential club info to Tam McManus?

  19. Before signing anything He needs an op to give him six toes on each foot and cross eyes so he can fit right in with their faithful support.

  21. Would I say it if I didn't know? Am I a tabloid? Wishaw is a small place and the real answers are not hard to find.

  22. If the club gets a fee they are happy with, then fair play to them , whether they make it public or not is up to them, personally I don't care either way and I suspect most fans are the same.

  23. As I have said before, we need to hear something from MFC. No one has actually said anything officially. It has been pointed out DT is still a contracted player. An official comment as to what is going on would help people to 'calm down'.

  25. That's more a damning indictment of the standard of journalism we see today than anything else. If they're picking up their information from Twitter accounts and internet forums they deserve to be misled and embarrassed.

  26. I'm sure we had hoped to make a new signing round about the time it looked like turnbull would be going to celtic.maybe this new player was being brought in to replace him and weve had to put it on hold until we know for sure whats happening.I could easily be wrong there but if this saga is in anyway affecting our ability to bring in new players and disrupt our preparations for the coming season then we have to be prepared to walk away, granted there is a lot of money at stake but were rapidly approaching the point where enough is enough.if this isn't resolved by tonight then,i would like to see us pull the plug on the deal and get turnbull back to the club and go from there,at the end of the day,he's still our player, were paying his wages but yet our club has been left in total limbo for the past couple of weeks.

  27. I've certainly seen reports of a further medical from in the know/reliable sources. Don't dispute that part. But, I've seen nothing specific about a dodgy knee other than on twitter, and then following that the usual online news sources which seem to just hoover up opinion and present it as fact. Could well be true but we should be careful talking about it and presenting it as fact on these types of forums before we know everything.

  28. One of the problems at the moment for most fans is perception. For all intents and purposes it's easy to forget that he's still a contracted Motherwell player, what with the photos of him in a Celtic shirt with Lennon, him being reported as bouncing around specialists all over the UK with Celtic doctors and so on. Meanwhile our focus is on pre-season, with him having for all intents and purposes been sold. You have to feel for the lad. Regardless of how much he wants a move, or how much money he could potentially be getting, there must have been a few times when he's been sitting outside some doctors office somewhere checking his phone and seeing the videos and photos from Belfast thinking "Fuck sake man, I wish I was just out there having a laugh with my pals and getting some time in on the pitch."

  29. Talk of games based add-ons should get in the bin as there are ways to circumvent them. If they dont deem him medically fit, they can leave him. Pay the asking price, or 'move on'. Happily see him back here.

  30. I know the club have to do the right thing by the player (our whole selling point is that we are a selling club) as well as the club's finances but it really is now a time to stand up for ourselves (that's not an insinuation that we haven't done so already). It's impossible to know what the truth is and what the circumstances are. Irrespective, I desperately want the club to now pull out of the deal and refuse to sell to Celtic. We need the money, granted. We don't need their money, though.

  31. So no boot licking from you if it's announced as an undisclosed fee?

  32. Yes sorry. Will try to be positive. Def dont back down on price. Hartson failed medical and went on to great things. Tell them to get to f ! unless paying top dollar.

  33. I think this may be one time when everyone on here is in agreement and I hope the board realize the position of the fans. We cannot and should not even entertain any reduced price or change in terms. We need to step up and tell them to complete this deal now or else there is no deal. Not now and not any time in the future.

  34. Not a problem for me, I would be more than happy if he stayed. We should not be getting involved in any negotiations, they either pay the fee agreed or he stays.

  35. Looks fine to me anytime I’ve seen him. Make your mind up Celtic. Pay the money or GTF. Would love to have him back playing here, show Celtic what a cripple he is by banging in a few against them and then get even more money for him in January.

  36. Gutted for Turnbull if this has fallen through due to a medical reason, particularly in such high profile circumstances. Regarding negotiations between both clubs, that should be a short conversation. If Celtic are unwilling to pay the agreed fee for medical reasons, then the deal is off. Tough for the boy, but he won’t be the first to fail a medical and then get a multi million pound move elsewhere.
    1 point
  37. If they are trying to reduce the fee we need to tell them to GTF. This will be a real test for the board. I said at the beginning of the thread that dealing with Celtic wouldn't be straight forward. This has been ridiculous.

  39. I would have thought it better to wait until we know the actual details rather than what’s written on social media. Again no idea why this “amateur” line is been pushed again.
