  1. I think we are going to win the League Cup this year. The only thing I can control is my own thinking, so I'm going to be positive and enjoy it till I can't anymore. Then I'll be negative at the appropriate time. Being miserable all the time with the only reward being able to say "I told you so" is an absolute fucking mugs game.

  2. Were you at the game caller? Agree on Scott, but thought the exact opposite of Semple/Polworth - Semple poor, played with his ample head up his arse - Polworth first class some nice incisive passing and very comfortable on the ball.

  3. If someone at Fir Park had trademarked the phrase "All Premiership tie" we wouldn't have needed to sell Turnbull.

  4. Correct. We were sadly victims of a certain laziness within our club who failed to insist that our chosen kit manufacturers used our correct colour. Instead we appeared to just accept what we were given. Umbro were are hit or a miss and appeared to lose their way with our colour in the 70s, and Admiral only started to get it together with the short lived fan designed 1978-Jan 79 kit. Happily we now appear to have settled on what our official claret and amber colours should be and we should see a more consistent tone throughout our future kits. The next step is to reinstate the traditional full hoop which I view as just as important to our kit history as the shade of claret and amber.

  5. Lines I had forgot all about that word. Are you two back by popular demand?

  6. Sorry to hear that. But you're right, it just goes to show how much bigger the impact of football can be than 90 minutes on a Saturday afternoon.

  7. For me since he came into the side James Scott has shown all the attributes required to be an excellent lone striker. There's at times been evidence of a decent physique, pace, touch, finishing ability and movement. Just not all at the same. Yet. He's going to get better and better as he develops all those attributes and gets more experience under his belt and when it all clicks he's going to be a terrific talent. For the here and now though he's surely going to start against Livingston because he's played himself into the starting role with his goals in the League Cup group games and because he's shown more than Long and both Cole and Manzinga are injured. But he is still at an age yet where for his own benefit he needs his time on the pitch to be managed. To use David Clarkson as an example he came into the first team at a similar age and had an excellent eighteen months or so. He ended up doing so well and our situation was such that we couldn't really afford to rest him. But both the team and he paid for that in the next couple of seasons after when he lost his edge and struggled when the inevitable dip in form came. Whether its a starter who comes in or further back up, until any of the other strikers begin to prove their worth, to enable him to be rotated we do still require further back up.

  8. Don't think we should rule out extradition for Cadden tbh

  9. I don’t get this sign an experienced striker. Why? Scott looks the real deal. He is strong, skilful and is starting to find the net. He has started this season like he finished the last - scoring goals. I say stick with him as the number one striker.

  10. Not the greatest of games but I guess it was never going to be. It shows though how far we have come in the last year that Hartley now looks a million miles away from being the right player given the way we now play, his distribution and composure is just not close to that of Gallagher. I liked the look of Sloth and can see him claiming a place in the first 11 unlike Long who I just don’t see as our target man. Guess what, I think Donnelly could be this seasons player that proves the haters wrong, he’s improving game on game and knows where the back of the net is ( please give him a chance). I thought Polworth did ok although he was sitting too deep at times, Seedorf had a poor game sadly. This squad shows a lot of promise, certainly the most exciting in my four years watching the club, if we sign a forward that’s fits in we can look forward to an entertaining, and hopefully successful season.

  13. I've committed to going in all guns blazing on this now and it's too late to back out.

  14. The idea the footballers are conspiring to finagle complex (and dubious) contracts is laughable. Most of them would struggle to work out how to get a free coffee from a loyalty card scheme (maybe a little harsh). Much more likely an agent/manager says "I've got a deal that lets you play for Oxford and maybe a shot in the MLS. Do you fancy it?" "Aye, sounds good"

  15. I've got no problems with players running down their contracts as they're entitled to do- Hastie etc, but conspiring to defraud the club out of £280k through international loopholes clearly goes way beyond "putting himself and his family first". Fuck Chris Cadden.

  16. "How do you spell your name?" - "C-a-d-d-e-n" "Is that a-n?" "No, e-n" "a?" "No, e" "Have you met the Queen?"

  17. I think the quality of player is much better than it was. Some of the players who go there are much nearer their prime than Lothar Matthaus or Hristo Stoichkov were. Think a few decent young South Americans go there nowadays too. Too be honest I don't pay that much attention, this was all just from the few highlights I see on twitter. BELLSHILL is the centre of the universe.
