  1. That means I've scored as many goals as him this season, but I have less red cards.

  2. I recommend ' Motherwell Champions of Scotland 1931-32' written by Alex Smith (published by Desert Island Books Limited in 2003) if you want to learn about true claret & amber legends. One of the first to be considered for nomination has to be John Hunter (Manager 1911-1946, Secretary 1946-1959), in my opinion the most important man in the club's history.

  3. No failures at all today, first half Gallacher was so comfortable it looked like he was playing in his slippers, second half Hartley was immense. The midfield was very balanced, McGuire looked as if he had been playing that role his whole life and Polworth and Campbell ran the show. I went with Polworth in the end.

  4. Went for Polworth, although if i was to find a criticism it would be that he's so focused on trying to find deft little passes that he overlooks some fantastic opportunities to get a shot away. Particularly in the 2nd half he had two or three chances at the edge of the box to just put the laces through the ball, but instead tried to play a little dink through. Maybe put off by his couple of wild efforts in the first half. Great player though.

  6. Fantastic result. It is difficult not to get greedy but had the Ross County game gone differently the table would look sweet indeed. What excites me most is that this is a team without David Turnbull. If he can come back with the same form as last season (big IF), there could be reason for some genuine optimism this season. Happy Saturday evening!!!

  7. Classy Liam Polworth. Demonstrated not just the things we know he’s good at, but made a few 40 yard defence-covering runs as well. A goal would have topped it off. Honorable mentions to Campbell, Hartley and Gallagher.

  8. Pretty much this... Great performance 1st half and some excellent football. Polworth passing is just a joy to watch. Such a clever player. All the team (bar maybe Seedorf and definitely Cole who was very poor) played well. Hartley definitely had a few scares, but just got away with it. Tait got skinned a few times again. Fine against St Mirren but a bit of a worry for likes of Aberdeen, Rangers and Killie up next. Hopefully Carroll slots back in. You want to be positive after another win, but Cole was not great. Yes we keep reading how they will be inconsistent. Well for me Long has shown more and deserves his start in our next game. All in all a good way to sign off for the International break.

  9. First half performance was good. St. Mirren had 9 or 10 players behind the ball most of the time but we manage to keep possession, spray some passes around and create a few chances. Great finish from Scott and I thought we missed him when he went off early in the second half. Second half you could see echoes of the Ross County match. Started to look a bit nervous and weren't putting in the defensive work, either preventative or clearing our lines. Too slack and allowed St. Mirren to come back into the match and at a 1-0 the game was still up in the air. Was glad to see Maguire fitted right in. Like Scott I think he's got the potential to be an excellent player for us.

  11. The subs made me scratch my head. Scott was playing well. Seedorf had almost scored and both get taken off. Cole had probably the worst game I think in his professional career. Kept falling over, couldnt keep the ball more than a second. Hold up was non existent. Why Robinson persisted with him for so long and took two players off who were actually contributing is beyond me. Long took his goal well and is a good finisher. He can hold it up as well. Apart from Cole the team played well. Defence coped well with anything St. Mirren threw at them which wasn't much. Maguire looked assured in the centre of the park and played with composure. Lost a few balls but so did more experienced players. One for the future. Campbell was everywhere once again. Polworth outstanding and unfortunate not score with a sublime shot. I think we will be lucky to hold onto Gallagher and Polworth come 1st January as they are standouts.

  16. I think reading this forum since Robinson's appointment it does seem , quite simply there are those on here who want him and the team to do well & others with their own agendas (ie perhaps 'being proved right' on an internet message board) who are so obsessed with him failing that they refuse to see any good in him So if anything bad happens .... its Robinson's fault and if anything good happens its has to be down to someone else

  17. I'm glad Willie P is included. That said I'd hope the likes of Hughie Ferguson, Willie McFadyen, Bobby Ferrier and George Stevenson will be inducted very shortly. Real giants from our past.
