  1. With the best will in the world, if we do finish third, we will be arguably one of the weakest sides in recent times to do so. We have a plethora of wingers/forwards which are utter dross. None of Illic, Seedorf, Manzinga, Ndjoli, Aarons or Hylton will go down in folklore as being anything like top class players. They are mostly jobbers, whereby six small salaries could arguably be condensed into 3 decent salaries and a higher calibre of player (a tactic that I along with others have been calling for). Watt is likely to move on as will Long. The later has been exceptional in the past couple of matches however has been a frustrating figure and questionably does not score enough goals for the amount of opportunities that his pace presents. We are probably looking at a completely new forward line for next season which wouldn't be a disaster. In midfield, we will need to strengthen. Turnbull will be gone and Polworth has blown hot and cold all season and needs competion. O'Hara could however be worth offering a contract to. We need a new right back as Grimshaw still can't defend over 90 minutes and Tait's legs sadly look to be gone. A new centre half would also be welcome as well as a new goalkeeper given that Gillespie will be away. It will yet again be a busy summer rather through necessity than design, particularly when it comes to forwards.

  3. Given Scott went for £1.5 million, I'd be surprised to see him go for less than that. Although, as I've said before, I'd be quite happy to see him play out his contract with us and take the development fee. I don't pay my society subs to watch live streams of tenners.

  4. We would still the half million training compensation. So it's transfer offer minus compensation versus the value he provides on the pitch in terms of league position and cup runs. If the offer is a million or less it's probably better to keep him.

  5. Thank god we have a manager, if he does go in the future no doubt you'll be in for the job with some of the nonsense you post. The team is 3rd not 12th,give the players a break and support them.

  8. Carroll, Ilic, Gallagher, Polworth, Hylton, Long, Seedorf, O'Hara, Mazinga and Mugabe were signed in summer. All apart from Ilic, Mazinga and Mugabe have made a considerable contribution to us being third in the league and safely in the top six. Polworth Gallagher and Long have been outstanding. Mazinga and Seedorf are punts that may or may not yet come good. I don't know what Robinson has to do to please everyone. He had a massive rebuilding job and has done great.

  9. That was a good point. I thought Hylton had a decent second half after a brutal first. Arrons worked hard as well. Tait and Hartley were solid as well. We were crying out for Watt in the second half so he must have been injured. Long doesn't have a 90 minute performance in him but his first 45 today was superb. As bad as Hearts are that's a good point and sets up nicely for Friday.
