  1. Can't believe the manager signed O'Donnell to play left left back, and then played him at right back!!

  2. Seedorf challenges Hanson for the high ball that’s why his headed clearance is not very good and falls to Whyte, and his momentum carries him to where he ends up. If you look at where he is when Whyte strikes the ball he is not in the keepers direct line of vision and as has been previously said once Hanlon touches the ball he could be deemed to be onside. The linesman does not put his flag up straight away and IMO the ref and the linesman new that the ball took a deflection but did not know who it came off and erred on the side of safety and just gave offside. It’s over now some you win and some you loose just hope the next tight call goes in our favour

  3. How can you accuse Seedorf of something you haven't even seen?

  4. I actually think it was correct to disallow the goal because of where Seedorf was positioned. Otherwise football is a farce. But nobody (other than Hanlon funnily enough) has homed in on the fact that a defender DELIBERATELY played the ball. Have a look at the Law for offside which was amended a few years ago. A defender DELIBERATELY playing at the ball can result in a player in an offside position being deemed onside. So if Seedorf had touched the ball there is a strong case that it should have stood. Most referees ignore that ruling but it does exist. Just ask Man City who went out of the Champions League because of it three years ago. Not saying it is sensible but it is a factor and it clouds the issue. They have mucked about with the offside rule so much that it is now almost unworkable. I think that is why Hanlon went to great lengths to emphasise that he only played at the ball because Seedorf was behind him. But really, if we lost a goal in those circumstances every Motherwell fan would be going nuts.

  5. The ref and linesman got it absolutely correct. When the ball is played Seedorf is in an offside position. He then moves into the keepers eyeline and becomes active and therefore offside. He also tries to flick at the ball to deflect it. If he had stood still where he was there would have been no problem and the goal would have stood. But he didnt.

  6. What's that got to do with the decision. It is where he was when White touches the ball...

  7. Seedorf was clearly offside. When he jumped and flicked his leg in the air he was either trying to deflect the ball or get out of the way of the shot. If he was trying to deflect the ball then he falls foul of: clearly attempting to play a ball which is close when this action impacts on an opponent If he was trying to get out of the way of the shot he falls foul of: making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball And look at where he's standing in relation to the keeper just before the ball is deflected. Looks like he's obstructing vision to me.

  8. Not sure why this is even a debate, personally I thought it would be disallowed straight away, not sure why it took so long.

  9. Lets face facts. We made an on form Hibs team getting rave reviews look decidedly average. Our defence and midfield were bang on today. Stephen O Donnell and Lamie were very good. Turnbull and Campbell were also very good. Our final ball and up front is the missing link. Get that right and we will be top 6 again this year.

  10. Much much better performance. Our midfield 3 dominated Hibs, O'Donnell was a huge difference for us. Lamie had a very good game too. Bevis was absolutely fine defensively, we just need to ban him from passing cause he's fucking atrocious with the ball at his feet! Id he wins the ball, hoof it or play it back to Carson, and all Well players banned from passing to him and we will be ok. Up front is a big worry tho. Seedorf has pace, but no match sense or end product, Long is never a winger in a million years and Hylton was so bad he makes Seedorf look like Lionel Messi. Watt was poor bit was a tough cameo, and White is poor, but could be a useful sub to chuck on to throw himself about, never a starter tho. Set pieces are also fucking murder! Its weird but I actually feel MORE worried about us after this game than I have after each of the other 3 games! At least previously we were hopeless, so we knew we would improve, but today was the best we have played this season by absolute miles, and yet (apart from the offside goal) we looked like we could play for the next month solid and not score. Our attack, or lack thereof, is a serious worry
