  1. Taken a while to digest yesterdays result and performance and read through all the comments. Lots to process. Without disecting every incident I would summarise as follows. We looked tidy on the ball for the most part but we still make way too many unforced errors with our passes that costs us good field position and destroys momentum. We get into really good areas with some nice play but regularly lack composure to play the right final pass or work the keeper with our efforts on goal. Without the ball we are less impressive and dont seem to be able to track runners. Our marking at set plays is awful (see Hallidays header). We did at least look better against 10 men this week than last and after Moult came on looked like the team with the extra man. When it got to 2-2 I really fancied us to win it until we shot ourselves in the foot again. We got a break with the red card which I felt was harsh, but then every other crucial decision seemed to go against us. Thats not why we lost the game, but it did impact it significantly. KVV is a different beast with a partner alongside him. We need to ditch the lone striker thing and find a way to get him and Moult on the pitch together for as long as possible. His finish for the disallowed goal was sublime. We have no pace at the back. We need to find a way to continue to pass and keep possession of the ball without exposing this weakness. Kelly needs to work on his kicking. He is a great shotstopper but his distribution has become terrible. We cant play that open against Celtic or we will get scudded again. We are not a good team at this point, but neither are we "utter dugmeat". The break cant come soon enough.

  3. Where would you suggest we get runners from Bow Street?

  4. Is it? Defensive lapses lose so many silly goals on their own merit. How would your midfield set up?

  5. There is no place for sensible analysis like that on this forum .

  6. The great thing about Graham and Pettigrew is that when you watch some of their highlights today on Youtube, they are as good as you remember. Which can't be said about a lot of players. They did set my expectations way too high in my formative footballing years, though. I thought players like that were just how it always worked. Give them the ball and they score. Easy.

  7. I went for Goss. He is a tidy player with a great range of pass. He was constantly taking the ball under pressure and looking for a forward pass. Without him we would offer far less going forward.

  9. Bobby Graham the latest inductee. I loved watching him as a kid - Graham/Pettigrew, what's not to love? Fantastic player, but it wasn't until I was much older I discovered what an impressive record he had at Liverpool despite a restricted number of appearance thanks to the St. John and Hunt partnership. As well has his time at Fir Park, one of my other memories was seeing him after he moved to Accies. I was in the supermarket in Hamilton (Fine Fare probably) and spotted him, cigar in hand, gold bracelet and 1970's issue shearling coat.

  10. Goss’ range of passing has been great, he’s also put some wicked corners and set pieces in just waiting for someone to get on the end of. We also play a fuckload less hoofball these days because Goss actually takes the ball from defence and links the play. If we had KVV and a fit Moult up top or even KVV with some quality wide players then Goss would thrive. Slattery I think has potential but is out of form right now and is still relatively young, if we sacrifice anyone from midfield it should probably be him for a ball winner to compliment Goss.

  11. It’s not that they can’t do a job, it’s the fact they have both gone backwards. Slattery was the best midfielder we had at one point and Goss was getting better and better, they both now look a shadow of their former selves.

  12. Livingston 2-0 up against Aberdeen early doors tonight. These are the sides that you would expect/hope us to be competing against in the league and if that stays the same then Livi are six points ahead of us. We need to start picking up points and although tomorrow night is almost certainly a write off you look to the St.Johnstone game at the weekend as a game where we really need to get something if we are to avoid getting cut off in the relegation zone.
