Saturday was first i have seen of Suare. Yes the reviews previously were not great but i thought he did well. Furlong was good but if Suare keeps up that form and perhaps adds to it, theres no need for another LB. I would quite like to see a wide player added to the squad. Yes, thats not SK's preferred shape but would be good to have options. In an ideal world a forward thinking midfielder who happens to be on the same wavelength as Mika. Someone who can see the runs & makes the passes. Im not sure we have anyone who operates on that level anymore. Hopefully miller will get there.

If we look at the pros and cons, I think the best course of action is to not offer him an extended deal. Pro - If he does well, we can argue for some compensation from any club wanting to take him. It wouldn't be all that much, mind you, considering the type of club that's likely to be interested in someone like Kettlewell. Con - If he doesn't do well, we have to sack him and pay him off, which means spending money we likely don't really have to spare. For me, I'd rather we run the risk of losing him if he does well. I'd rather be sitting in a great position and have him leave for nothing than be in the shit and have to pay him off.

Hmmm... Manager comes in, saves us from relegation, starts off well the following season and is then handed an extended contract. Where have I seen that happen before?

Does having the manager on a contract give us any leverage? They usually just quit then rock up to their next job anyway.

What a job Stuart Kettlewell is doing for our club. 20 games in charge so far and won 14 and only lost 2. The goal difference in that time is amazing too. Hopefully found a gem in big Mika to help soften the blow of losing KVV, whilst continuing to be frugal at the back. Here’s to you Stuart.

I like that it talks about 'rampant self righteousness' without any kind of self awareness. Like most I'm not against supporter groups but when they stray away from actually supporting they inevitable embarrass themselves. And far too many of them have an inflated sense of their own worth. The old geezer in the beige anorak and bunnet and the guy that takes his young family to the game are absolutely 'worth' the same as supporters of the club as any cookie cutter ultra. Just remember we come to see the football not 6th form art painted on your maws under sheets so rein it in a bit.

Sorry Steelboy but there was a lot more wrong with Hammell's reign than that and I mean a lot more. A catastrophic appointment and I don't use those words lightly.

I can understand why he's saying this but the fact that we can see him giving 2 year deals to the likes of Wilkinson, Paton and Bair undermines the argument he's making (to put it politely). Stevie Hammell's managerial career was over when he signed Moult and Arrons. All he needed was one decent attacker to help KVV and he would have made it through the season. Kettlewell has had a lot more leeway in the transfer market but if he doesn't produce any signings who can make an impact in the final third it'll be back to youth coaching just like Hammell.
