  1. Plenty of crowd scenes, pity didn't show the schoolboys enclosure, might have been able to pick myself out. Aged 14 thanks to Dalziel High.
  2. Would someone if they still have the mail asking us to vote please post. I maybe wrong but I seem to remember it said along the lines of " Outside investment even if it reduced WS holding to less than 51%"
  3. That's probably making things overly simple. As I have posted previously in my opinion we could have a much more complicated scenario. At time of vote it was said we had 3800 members. After the vote it was divulged that only 1500 were currently supporting he WS financially. My argument would be whether the "missing" 2300 or part thereof would care what percentage the WS owned. Bluntly if I contribute for say 8 years I would likely vote a certain way, on the other hand if I had not contributed for the same period how would I vote or even bother to vote. When the vote to accept or decline investment comes this anomaly as I see it has to be resolved.
  4. MFC registered OFFICERS @ Companies House are Keys as Secretary, Dickie, Feely and McMahon. 4 only.
  5. I think I posted elsewhere, maybe not as some of my posts appear to be missing. It was : Pockets of share at a value of £250. Would need 2000 fans or others to reach a total of £500k.How many would do it. Based on only 1500 members contributing £10 average can't see many opting in. Plus my understanding is a similar figure could be required next year too.
  6. Sorry not my perception. No engagement by WS unless you include a reply from Sally to an email I sent that asked questions, made comments and suggestions re membership categories.

Should not be too difficult, given details of those members plus the rules for the junior steel i could prepare a spread sheet provided i can do it home. Based in Deepest South Lanarkshire. Issue maybe releasing that data to me
  8. I agree fan model is not working but the misinformation coming from the WS for years now would have you believe it is.
  9. We can all draw our own conclusions from this result. The information that has come to light since Investment subject was raised suggests to me that the WS has been badly mis managed in recent past.. Over the years now we have been told we have somewhere up to the 3800 members currently. The 700 supposedly Junior steel I shall ignore since I do not know the rules pertaining to them. That leaves 3100 entitled to vote of which 1660 are NOT contributing and may not have for 10 years or so. How many of the 642 voting to allow the WS percentage to be below 50% are in that category. After all if they have no interest in supporting the WS financially what do they care where the investment comes from. I wont make any comment on members who are no longer living still being included in the 3800 total.

Just as an aside. Interesting to see the Hibs Investment. Foley invests £6m, gets 25% share, Gordon family was 67% now 60%. Assume Fans share was 17.5% now I guess 15%. This kind a deal I cold live with if the WS Board is unsuccessful.

Thanks Speedie85. That certainly takes the pressure off me to release the Information I have gained. Some other points. The average contribution of the 1500 Pledges is £10 £15000 pm £180000 pa. To meet the £500k extra (I think quoted) the average monthly contribution made by the 1500 would need to be £40 This would take the annual income from the 180000 to 720000. I would maintain that is not feasible. The reasons given for the 1600 non paying is death, just stopped paying for whatever reason. former players that have moved on. In my opinion these categories should be removed from the roll of Members. Again in my opinion I take the view that telling members and the outside world that we publish levels that include these categories is verging on immoral. Also included are members who paid £300 lump sum back in 2012 ? and have not paid since, Junior members now aged 16+ and honorary members. Resolving these categories may be more difficult but has to be tackled. Replacing the 1600 non payers with monthly payers would mean the average contribution requires to be £20. Might just be feasible but I don't under estimate the effort needed. Curious how you get honorary membership. The Club have said that they have approached the non payers to re-commence contributions. Further note WS AGM is planned for latest June this year All adults aged 16 and over are eligible to vote.
  12. What position do you think it will play tonight ?.

To reply and In fairness to all commenting on this subject there is too many assumptions being made. Assume makes an Ass out of Me and U as the old saying goes. I have now a further update from Sally in response to my original email's comments and whilst it answers them in part I would consider at least some to be unsatisfactory and raises more questions. The board are now working on the issues I highlighted. Those issues existed long before Investment surfaced in my opinion. My comment that the WS members should be aware of the points I raised has received neither a yes or no. I am beginning to feel guilty on holding on to this knowledge I am now aware of, but at the same time I don't want to be labelled some type of trouble maker. Suggestions as to how to make it available privately would be welcome.

3800 iapprox is the figure I have been given. It does not come anywhere near telling the facts. Sorry if this makes the issue more unclear.

Agree with what has been said. I repeat spent a considerable time yesterday working on current WS statistics.. returned them to the Club asking more questions, making comments, and suggestions. I made the point that The Information given to me has to be made available to WS members, possibly my work too. I believe I do not have the authority to divulge this information certainly not on a Forum such as this. I could be given permission to divulge the information that still leaves the means to do it. I also asked when the AGM was.

Not corporate finance at its highest level. Business qualification before retirement 20+years ago Admin and Statistics in Manufacturing. Shop Floor to end customer at the lowest economic cost to all involved in the supply chain and other major projects. Quite proud in my day to be called the "Gatekeeper" Continued to use these skills with the voluntary organisation including the much maligned on here Bowling Club. Wasn't my plan to take the impetus just preparing myself with as many facts as I could use to make a decision on how to vote on the future of a Club I have supported for 70+ years.

I have received the info asked, done some work on them, produced a spreadsheet added my comments and suggestions. Added too that the spreadsheet should be passed to the team working on the alternative to outside investors and it should in my opinion be made available to WS members. Not my prerogative to publish on here. Wait and see what happens next.
  18. BBC, Radio Times and Sky all have it as playing tonight Tuesday. Of course maybe they are using Steellmaninoz time frame.

To raise 500k at say £250 per buyer we would need 2000 new shareholders.
  21. Quick update. Following the latest club I have requested this information from them.
  22. Shaw on offers nothing at all. Change Devine and Gent when no need to do so. They were coping with the Celtic pressure. Once again SK decisions and tactics at fault. The saying goes "only a fool makes the same mistakes and expects a different result,
  23. Probably prepared to double it, triple it not so sure. Would need some more info first. Current level of member, how many members contribute monthly pledges. total monthly income. that way we can say what average payment is. I appreciate early days members paid a lump sum to join, they may or may not continue with monthly payments.

My further thoughts on the subject are The only option we have is for the WS board to come up with a proposal to meet short AND long term financial needs to maintain and IMPROVE aims of the Club. I cannot envisage potential investors providing substantial finance without taking control of the club ie 51%+ meaning new owner That scenario means in effect the WS Society is dead. I for one will not continue to support financially any new "private" owner. How many WS members share this view. If there is in fact a new owner then for by any initial input they will have to cover shortfall for the cancelled DD's. Earlier I mentioned improved goals. I say this because for o long time budgeting for stated aim of 10th. is budgeting for failure or even disaster. We as a club need to aim for 6th and somehow provide the budget to do so. To realise this and meet the aim of the club to sell on players at a profit we have to start improving the level of skill potential brought in . It cannot be denied that with a few exceptions we have over the years declined in that area. I digress slightly by saying this could said generally of all of Scotland. It also has to be said that where we have seen success with a player he has invariably left under freedom of contract. It is of course the player choice. Much of what I have said above is easy, putting it into practice is the difficult part.
  25. Because if if we are relegated he will have FAILED to achieve what I am quite sure his mandate would have been. Simples !.
