  4. It's one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen come out of our club. 100% of our fans will absolutely hate that. Jesus fucking christ.

  6. We could do worse than starting up crowd chants of "Taylor Swift gives some dosh" and putting that out as well, just to keep people talking. Whoever he is, he may or may not be interested but we might snag someone else along the way.

  8. As I said before, look at most smaller company/brand advertising on television during the ad break of any TV show. They usually come off as cringe-worthy. But there's a reason for that. The only mistake I think the club made is in spending time coming up with this really imaginative video, and then using the blandest YouTube video title of all time. "WHY YOU SHOULD INVEST IN THIS FOOTBALL CLUB" That is piss poor. It has zero keyword value. The whole idea of this video is to try to make it go viral and get it out there. That title does absolutely none of that.

  9. Good investment and decent marketing can do wonders for a club and i't s fanbase if done correctly. I moved to Larne 9 and a bit years ago and would go and see the town's football team regularly, who at the time were playing in the lower half of the NI second tier to around 100-150 fans every game, in a stadium that would be condemned by today's standard. Kenny Bruce of Purple Bricks came in and invested a substantial amount in 2017, and last season they won the NIFL Premiership. The investment has upgraded their ground to one of the best in the league in terms of pitch, facilities and social club, they've introduced an academy that's producing a great calibre of young player, have sold players to English Championship and Premiership teams and have become an attractive proposition for players from over the water. The biggest difference though is that the fan base, particularly the younger fans and families going along has increased massively and that's in huge part due to the focus that Bruce's investment has had on creating a community club. Their match the other week against Linfield was a sell out and their average home attendance for the season so far is 2100. The Belfast teams hate them. So whether it's the Wrexham model of high profile investor off the back of a viral video or someone with pockets deep enough to get the club out of a perceived mire and allow the club to bring the good times back like Larne have, money invested properly in the club will never do any harm.

  10. December 2023 Outgoing Club Chairman statement: “We have undertaken a large amount of work and held numerous discussions - the final stages of a fund-raising initiative are almost complete and will be ready to be shared early in the new year.” So this is the outcome. FFS it would’ve been less embarrassing if they had announced they were going to have a series of bucket collections.

  16. I'm with you on that. If that's the best the leading advertising agency in Scotland can come up with then gawd help us. On the other hand it's the kind of sweet sickly stuff that the Yanks seem to like.

  17. I actually can't believe we've put that out. We would be absolutely rinsing any other club serving that up. Absolute red neck. I certainly hope we haven't paid "Scotland's leading advertising agency" for this, hopefully it was a charitable gift.

  18. I'm in the hate it half, I know it's meant to be a bit tongue in cheek but for me it's cringeworthy and a bit desperate all you get is the impression that we are skint and need the dosh as the wee boy at the end says. I know the media and comms department has been cut but that video looks like something a local youth team would produce as a fundraiser, not a premiership football team.

  19. Thought good, honest, straight forward talking. Here's some snippets/my interoperation of what was said. Worked hard to replace CEO initially - interviewed 4 but didn't work out. Looking for new CEO to be in place before end of March. Retaining players - we worked hard to keep likes of Max J, KVV, Sean Goss but couldn't match what they wanted/needed. Investments had on pitch and hard to solve the draining issue. It was right to do so but mistakes were made in that project that cost £££'s How club is run is 50% getting team on park and 50% running the business. Our current spend currently matches that. We live within our means. Investment on players. Aim to sell on some players, some seasons it works, others it doesn't. Have someone who can bring investment into the club and can provide financial security for when we need it. We're currently OK but would be great to have investors who are Well fans willing to sit along side society. Comms/Media. We used to spend more money on this but it cost us/impacted playing budget. We decided to scale back when people left to rebalance the on field/off field spending budget. Views of pyros - they are illegal and we'll follow the law on these issues. Governance. Club is running well off the pitch. 4 exec directors running club, 2 are from society and included in all decisions that are made. On the pitch. When there's bad results on the pitch there's always the look for manager to go (not unique to us) 2 previous managers have left. There's always a big impact/expense when managers leave. We've just had 3 poor months of results which he broke down game by game. He believes we have a superb management team here and players are behind. We can't just go churning through every bad run. The management team need to be given time and when you look back over time we've done well with longer term mgt team. Budget. Having investment will help but will sit down and we're recruiting. We've had players move on and others injured, we're looking bring players in. He will continue to support. Number of directors/governance. We're looking to increase this to help club run. Jim and Derek will be standing down. Final thoughts. Recognise that results matter and appreciate frustrations but have confidence that we're running the club, doing our best and it's key that we get on the pitch performances back on track.
