With all the doomsday hints we've been drip fed about our finances these past few months I'm not sure we should be even pretending to do the decent thing. This is a business, and as such we shouldn't be offering to waste money on players who aren't likely to be in the managers plans. The idea of the guy who couldn't get a look-in when Kelly was having his worst season being our new number one gives me the fear. But I think you could be right. Which is exactly why we can't be offering deals to guys simply because it's the decent thing to do, as has been discussed on here already. We need to start becoming more ruthless in that regard. I wonder how any new investor would feel about that? Looking over the books and asks why a player who is hardly fit and never plays is offered a new deal, only to be told it was "the decent thing to do."

Other than gent not one defender from last season would be missed but yet we have retained mcginn and offered terms to odonnell and mugabi and with casey and blaney still under contract,it's almost certain that our defensive options for next season will be vastly made up of guys that kept 3 clean sheets all season, considering kettlewell has been moaning about our defending, especially of late,keeping most of them around for next season is madness.

Mugabi played at the heart of the defence in the away wins against Rangers and Hearts and the draw at Celtic Park. He was immense in all three games. There is no way we are going to sign two better players for that central role. People want to talk about errors but he made far fewer stupid errors this season than McGinn or SOD. If Bevis stays we are looking at needing a new player for the central position and someone better than Blaney for the left hand side. I think it's pretty clear now that Kettlewell has no intention of overhauling the team and is scared to sign players because he know's he not up to the task.

I think my opinion is quite unpopular but I feel white shorts contrast really well with a trad. strip in our bootiful colours. Ultimately, I think most supporters have a hankering for the jersey the team were wearing when they started attending FP, and I can understand that.
