  1. I think that Udinese, Torino, Como and whoever else can probably outbid Partick Thistle and St Johnstone.

  2. And Hibs got slated by some in our media for holding out for a decent price and laughing off a low Celtic offer. Pretty confident Miller will do the right thing for himself so good luck to him. But at the end of the day it is the fee and add-ons that matter most to MFC. As an aside, I was at ER last night and was very impressed by Midtyjlland. Play a similar style to how we are being asked to play.....with the odd long ball to wide players thrown in. Full backs certainly asked to cover a lot of ground. Lots of possession in midfield and defence. Their players looked comfortable on the ball with no signs of panic when pressed as playing out. Very patient. At times moved the ball very quickly. Guessing that is the way teams play in Denmark. Maybe JBA will unearth some oven ready CBs from his homeland.. Only failing was the lack of goals their domination on the ball produced. But they did score six in their previous League game so maybe Hibs got lucky. Just short of 20k turned up....of which 1000 away fans. If we can find or develop players to play that style then I'm on board. Spoke to a couple of their fans who said it took a good while for them to adapt to that style of play and they had a few horror shows on the way. Hibs actually did well without looking like winning. Certainly far better than they were at the start of last season. Strong midfield and in central defence. Cadden was Cadden. Good pushing forward, not so good defensively. early days but I was impressed by them. Cue Dundee win this weekend.

  3. Next thing you'll be saying we should split the prize money and TV revenue equally! That might lead to stronger competition. Madness!!

  5. Any news of a possible Ferguson transfer? That would free up the 6 role, no?

  6. I’m in Bologna just now and reading the local media it appears to be a done deal. They are quoting €5 million (euro remember not pounds) but with added extras including a sell on clause for Motherwell - doesn’t mention the % but does say a further fee will be due if hit certain number of Serie A appearances before the 26-27 campaign. Torino would definitely be the preferred option if you asked my opinion (likely to play as a 10 there and feed some excellent strikers) - more suited clubs for him would be a Fiorentina or Verona looking at their squads but doesn’t appear to be working out that way. Much as I hate to say it I could see him playing as an 8 at Lazio but may be tougher to hit the 30-40 games a season he would expect After the success of McTominay, Gilmour, Ferguson, Adams, Doig and Henderson previously Italian teams are keen on “Fortissimo” Scottish players. As someone who lives in the country and follows the league closely I would be very surprised if Miller isn’t also living here soon.

  7. Absolute legend. I'm sure that's legit grounds for divorce... Someone refusing to pay for a takeaway I thought I was doing good drinking my bodyweight in wine at the Cooper... Nope!

  8. He went to the Dutch second tier when we sold him and didn't exactly set it on fire. We did well to get an incredible season from him, but other than that, on average, he's a 7 or 8 goal striker if you look at his track record (at least in the English and Scottish leagues).

  9. I'd read somewhere that Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt were apparently interested. The profit that Dortmund seem to make on young British players, that would be an ideal destination from sell on percentage point of view and not a bad move for Miller...

  10. I hope it's been successful for you. That's more than doing your bit. With regards to the season ticket issue I agree that it's the best way re affordability but sometimes work gets in the way for folk. I shared one with a family member a couple of seasons ago because they had to work one in every three Saturdays and they didn't think it was worth buying one for themselves. I was happy enough getting to some games over the season and it worked out ok - because at that point I would have struggled to afford one for myself.

  11. If only it were that easy with regards getting to games. On the "invest in the club" comment, I talked my wife into investing £7.5k into advertising her business at the ground (3 years now) so we do our bit.

  12. Just had a look at the Livingston fc website - they split their prices into three categories - it's 30 pounds for a Livi fan to watch Celtic or Rangers. 28 for Hearts Hibs and Aberdeen. 26 for the rest with concessions and other prices dropping as well depending on who they are playing. I actually think that's quite an interesting way to do it - and there's maybe scope for us to do something similar going forward. We put our prices up this season after a couple of years of freezes so obviously fans who pay at the gate are taking a bigger hit and as has already been said - obviously for some fans they'll just make the decision to watch the game on tv rather than pay 34 quid at the gate. The club said they had to put prices up this season because of a 20 per cent rise in match day costs It's the fan who wants to pay as they go that takes the biggest hit -I certainly wouldn't be able to go if I didn't have a season ticket.

  13. Our lowest home support numbers are always against Celtic and rangers every season for a number of reasons eg listening to the poison and parents not taking their kids etc but also for the cost as well. I always think they should offer season ticket holders to bring a friend for half price or something in theses games, it’d certainly look better for televised games but it’d also p1ss off every single old firm fan who’s shelled out £34 a ticket.
