  1. All the midfield combinations we have tried over last 18 months have failed to produce the goods. We just cannot seem to get the right formation One thing that has been constant over that period is Keith Lasley maybe time for a sit on the bench ??
  2. Same old same old Same shape...... Same mistakes.......Same tactics (or lack of them) When are we going to learn that we cannot play 2 wingers and leave us a man short in midfield Yes our defenders and goalie kept pumping the ball long ...... But someone has to show for the ball .... Sorry but our 2 midfielders are just not good enough It is not rocket science but everyone can seè what is happening EXCEPT OUR COACHING STAFF The only time we strung 3 passes together on the deck we score a goal
  3. True Chalmers played against United but was substituted after 66 minutes when we went to a midfield 2 and 2 wingers. We the proceeded to loose a game that we were in total control when we had 3 in the middle. As for Lasley getting pass marks yes I agree but Taylor is no worse or better than Lasley when we play 2 in the middle. It is no coincidence that we have lost vital goals ( that have cost us points) in the last 1/3 of every game with only 2 midfielders being out numbered for 60 minutes As I said previously Lasley is now only good for 60-65 minutes and it in the last 1/3 of the game when our midfielders stop closing down opponents and stop matching runners that defence comes under pressure and we seem to concede soft goals
  4. Gie the guy a chance. He's played 2 games ..... Against Aberdeen didn't do anything spectacular but did not give the ball away always found his man with his passes unlike a lot of others in our team. Wasn't at game yesterday only seen highliligts and there did not seem to be a lot between the teams. Don't think playing in a 2 man midfield with Kiethy running about like a headless chicken helps him. Think we will see the best of him when Pearson returns and we play 3 in midfield Taylor on right Lasley in the middle (for 60 to 65 minutes), that all we get out of him nowadays and Pearson on the left. This would mean that a decision has to be made between the 2 wingers Johnstone and Ainsworth but it has to be made as we have been outnumbered in midfield in very game this season bar Inverness when Chalmers played in midfield (guess what .... We won)
  5. Yip ..... But both put in a shift tracking back and closing played down
  6. In this league 2 wingers are a luxury. Aberdeen had extra man in midfield and found it easy to play round or through our midfield 2. As has been previously said Hammel's floated free-kick to the corner of the box put us under unnecessary presure when we did not win the ball. We must have the worst 2 fullbacks in the league there positional play at times is criminal. Any scout from other teams must be rubbing there hands in anticipation. Kennedy and Chalmers surely can't be any worse
  7. Totally agree. The first thing a defender has to do is to defend anything they offer in an attacking position is a bonus. Our 2 fullbacks are good going forward but there position play leaves a lot to be desired ( especially Law)
  8. Don't post on here often. But for what it's worth .... Penalty given away by McDonald was worse than amateurish the 2nd goal yes the goalkeeper could have done better but did you see the way Keith was left for dead in the middle of the park and the least said about Hammell's positional play and attempted to block the shot the better. We have been sadly lacking in midfield all last year and ever since Pearson went off just before halftime at Inverness this year. Sorry to say it but the common denominator Keith Lasley think he now has to be used sparingly
