How many times this season have we seen a tackle that's blown for a foul and a yellow card in one game yet an identical tackle in another waved away. All we're looking for is our refs to know the rules of the game and apply them consistently.I don't think that's too much to ask for It's feckin frustrating and boils my piss no end and don't even get me started on our VAR which I'm convinced the SFA got off Temu or Shein. I'm with Michael Stewart all the way.

I concur 100% Starsail. Im actually at the stage of seriously considering not renewing my season ticket next year which I've had for over 50 years and just going to watch local WOSL games. I just can't stomach anymore the obvious mistakes, the resulting apologies from Collum, not being able to celebrate a goal until VAR tries their best to find anything in the build up to disallow it, and seeing goals disallowed because a fingernail is offside. Kills the enjoyment stone dead for me in a season where we've played our best football in years. Not an on the spur feeling but one that has grown over a couple of seasons till I just think **** it what's the point.

Not at the races. Not even at the starting line.

Im going to be a bit controversial here. You see players going down very easily every week in every league and every country and it's my pet hate (outside of VAR) Issuing yellow cards doesn't seem to be stamping it out either so maybe we need more of this to finally hammer home the message that if youre caught doing it either during a match or after a review then youre going to get hammered. As long as it is done consistently and across the board of course but I won't hold my breath with these clowns in charge who would rather eat their first born than upset the OF.
-
I really don't know as they seem to have as many problems with bad decisions for or against them. Maybe someones keeping a record somewhere? I've got friends who are OF fans and they moan about VAR as much as me but because of who they are they get more media coverage. VAR is just shit and why I love going to the odd local WOSL game.
-
It's simply not fit for purpose and that's been proved time after time since it's inception. You would think that things would improve through time but if anything the decision making is getting worse each season and that's worrying.

Just watched match of the day on I player and seen 4 worse examples of holding in the box in 4 different games. No fouls given no cards issued. Our referees and pound shop VAR are a complete and utter joke compared to down south.

Grizzly could always do a nationwide stadium tour.🫠

Just out of curiosity and comparison purposes I asked a work colleague who deals with large commercial loans how much the annual servicing cost would be on a £30m capital and interest loan over 30 years. Approx £2.2m at current rates apparently.

Interesting views and points. My own take is that Im more sentimentally attached to old Fir Park in the days of terracing than what we have now probably because that era holds more good memories for me. If we decided to up sticks it probably wouldn't bother me too much. I thought at the time when Ravenscraig was being developed that this was the ideal opportunity if we were ever going to move from Fir Park by getting into bed with the council and private equity. A fully integrated indoor sports facility and new ground with training facilities linked to a mini town centre with franchises like McDs etc all located in the same place with transport links. Could still happen I suppose but I think the most cost effective solution is probably some kind of redevelopment on the current site.

The way I look at is if a player goes down when there's no contact then that's blatant cheating. If he goes down when there's even just minimal contact he's every right to try and gain an advantage and at least make the ref and VAR team have a look. Today's and Slattery's last week fall into the 2nd category as far as Im concerned..
-
Oh aye we definitely would be but leaving aside Slatts Oscar winning performance and the faux outrage, the rules are quite clear. An attempted hand hit (punch or strike) on an opponent is generally punishable with a red card, even if no contact is made, due to it being classified as violent conduct. So VAR seemingly correct in this instance. Can imagine Slattery getting absolute pelters at training on Monday and SOD browsing Amazon for a replica Oscar statue.

Slattery being called a c**t 15 times in 3 pages. Immediately springs to mind.

The Midden forums truly were a joy to behold last night and P&B is something else. Nearly as entertaining as watching us. Wasn't sure what our reaction would be after the cup exit but the team very quickly put any negative notions to bed. A dominant and one sided game as you'll ever see and some sweet revenge for our no show in the semi..
-
That's it Grizzly. I think we sometimes focus too much on history and not the present. Just because we've bottled it in the past doesn't mean it'll keep on happening. You can't compare the mindset of the club today with the mindset of previous years. Different players different board different coaching staff and a more positive outlook from the fans (with the obvious exception of course although even he's mellowing).

What I did notice yesterday while waiting outside for my mate was the amount of young kids going by with their parents. Never really noticed it before but it was great to see the amount of mums dads and kids all decked out in C&A. Can only bode well for the future.

Im more worried about us coming out of this tie with no injury concerns going by Aberdeens physical approach yesterday which will no doubt be the same on Wednesday. A difficult pitch won't help but as long as we don't get sucked into a physical battle and concentrate on our own game then I think we'll be fine. Might even go to extra time in this one.

It would be interesting to find out if our increased attendances are mirrored by a similar increase in Well Sociery memberships and contributions.

Another minor point along the same lines. At the end of the first half, Tavernier was having a long discussion with him on the POD touchline which lasted 2 mins ( i timed it) and 1 minute gets added on. Not game changing by any means but just another inconsistency among many others.
-
Celtic fans going apoplectic. Someone on Kerrydale St suggested it was Israel getting their own back for their support of Palestine by using technology to cause rain clouds to form over Aberdeen. I kid you not. Anyways a narrow win for us and no injuries please.

Anderlecht the latest team linked to TJ. That only leaves Hamilton Accies left to register an interest.

The last time I asked their stadium manager that question he said it was down to stewarding which baffled me (and him too I suspect) as he walked away when I asked him what the logic behind it was. I'm pretty sure it would take more stewards to monitor 2 separate areas rather than just one.

Apparently there's a big ice hockey game on nearby at the same time so traffic is going to be even worse than normal so leave plenty of time if going up by car.
-
We've got a manager that will set the team up accordingly, send them out with the correct attitude and won't accept our standards dropping so I have no worries that we'll win this one but it will be a hard game but no harder than any other we've had this season.
-
It was some performance. Celtic never really got to grips with us tactically or physically which was a bit of a surprise really but that was down to how good we were as opposed to how bad Celtic were. 3 yellows in 5 minutes for them showed how frustrated they were at not bring able to get back into the game. How Scales lasted as long as he did without the inevitable yellow card remains a mystery.
