ÂHe wasn't the scource, I was standing next to him talking when I saw the drum incident with my own eyes as did a few others, but hey its ancient history and theres more interesting things to talk about.

Thats what I heard from a usually reliable scource although I think his SM posts said he was looking for pastures anew or a fresh challenge (something like that)Â so maybe there was something else going on behind the scenes, who knows.

I'm having a good giggle at the last page or too.
What sort of "abuse" are we talking about here? I've just seen it mentioned in the same post as fucking racism. Wild.
Pyro, I don't get. It's illegal and they know the risks.Â
Moaning about the stand chucking the ball about is a bit "old man yells at cloud" type stuff.ÂWell Busta I don't know how many away games you go to but it's the same individuals doing the same stuff and I'm pretty sure the club know exactly who they are but seem quite happy to put up with it.
The ball in the crowd yesterday was just good natured fun and personally gave me a good laugh but appreciate others might have found it a bit crass.
More concerning is the clean up bill to remove all the graffiti and stickers the club will get next week, the fine for the pyro display and the apology letter to the security company for one of their young stewards getting punched in the face trying to put out the flare.
I really love the atmosphere the Bois bring to the game and I would hate to not have them there but they just need to reign it in a bit and realise some of their antics cost the club money.

You must have been at opposite side of stand from me where we had the pleasure of an older guy calling him a useless c**t, embarrassing.Â
I don't do away games because I can't be bothered with the antics of some elements and sadly yesterday just proved why I won't be going to another away game. Maybe I am just getting old but it took away a lot of the enjoyment from yesterday.  No doubt though the media team will perceive it differently.  Again that's just my opinionÂ

See one of them must be on here dishing out laughing emojis because we dare criticise them. Shows you their level of intelligence and entitlement.

This is where I'm at. Â There's a difference of being frustrated v's downright abusive.Â
Appreciate not in the same ballpark but was chatting to my friend who supports York City - Salford team walked off the part following racial abuse last week and the match was abandoned. Â Someone has since been arrested.ÂThe more the game has a hard line about behaviour the better behaved people are likely to become.
ÂI actually stopped going to away games last season because of all the shit happening and I didn't see anything yesterday that would make me want to change my mind. We have some right cretins in our support and I'm more and more starting to see why Bob Park gave up the ghost and walked.

Exactly what I expected.
Shite football on a shite park in a shite stadium only made worse by getting burnt alive with a 30mins wait in the kiosk queue and the usual wee fannies costing the club another fine by letting off flares amongst other things.
On the positive side we were probably always going to have to beat Morton in the last game to qualify regardless of the result today, assuming we don't massively **** things up against the 2 minnows.

Gordon strolled thru the first phase of games for us last season ,he can’t suddenly just turn shite. Need to take into account previous manager lost the plot after those games. Still think he’s a good defender.
Looks like Ox will have this injury hanging over him for a while.
Gordons fine when he's played to his core strengths of defending high balls and clearing his lines, not so sure how he'll cope with playing it out from the back which looks like the way we'll be set up.

He was one of may favourite players when I was a kid. I think I was about 9 or 10 when he joined us. Of course, at that age I had no idea of his history. For a brief time we had Wullie P, Bobby G and Peter M together.
That made my heart sing❤️.

I thought we were poor last night for what it’s worth but not going to lose sleep over it. If we are as bad in 3 weeks time then I may get worried
If you browse through some of the other SPL teams fan forums they're all saying pretty much the same thing.
Welcome to close season in Scotland.

Pity just as it looked as if we were beginning to get into the game a bit better.

I asked ChatGPT to "create a post in the style of MJC on steelmenonline.co.uk"
Thread Title: "If That’s Our Ambition, Then God Help Us"
Posted by MJCRight, I’ve tried to stay off here for a bit but after watching that yesterday I genuinely wonder what’s going on at this club.
We’ve just had a pre-season where we’ve allegedly strengthened, yet here we are playing hoofball against a team that finished 9th last season and looked like they couldn’t be bothered to get out of second gear. Is this the grand new era we were promised? More like the same old p*sh, just with a fresh coat of Dulux.
The manager says “the boys gave everything” – aye, well if that’s everything, we’re in for a long season. No shape, no urgency, no clue. And as for some of the new signings – honestly, I’ve seen more presence in a ghost town.
We let players go, tell the fans we’re building something, then turn out a performance like that and expect folk to pay £25 a ticket and clap like seals? Sorry, not for me.
Call me negative (as usual) but unless there’s a serious wake-up call, we’ll be sleepwalking into another relegation scrap by Halloween.
Anyway, I’ll leave it there before I say something I’ll regret.
Now there's a great idea.
We all do the same and post the results.
That would be hilarious.

I get your point but would say on the evidence of last seasons expense on frankly some garbage and crocks then budget is not a problem
As the old saying goes "buy cheap buy twice". Or 3 times in the case of goalkeepers.

Someone out of the box and not indoctrinated in the SPL way of thinking. What's not to like.
We're certainly blazing a trail and hopefully it all comes good.

That thought had crossed my mind also , after everything that happened with Stuart Kettlewell I wouldn't put it past the media to be asking our ex manager's for an opinion
Wait until we play Killie for the first time. You can just imagine the headlines.

He’s probably no better or worse than any other winger we might pick up from within Scotland. That said, most of his career has been spent in the lower leagues. Still, I can’t help but find it funny that Kettlewell has signed an attacking winger.
Going to play him as a RB (probably).

If we go with a traditional back four next season, I think Wilson would do the job just fine. As for Thompson, he doesn’t offer much going forward or defensively, so I would be disappointed if we gave him another deal.
Â
Saw Wilson playing the traditional left back position for Beith and he was easily their best olayer that season when they won the WOSL Premier League title. Definitely looks happier playing in that role although he was used as a wing back on occasion as well.
Wouldn't have any qualms about him as a LB in a back 4.

Don't know much about Sylla, I must confess, and I'm aware of the Ebbe Skovdahl line about statistics but we've already signed a defender from a Dundee team that conceded 77 goals last season (highest in the division). Not sure signing a 31 year old defensive midfielder from that same team is guaranteed to help our defensive solidity...
I can only go with what the Dundee fans say about him and the general consensus is that he was one of their best players in a poor team and they're gutted to lose him.
Must admit any time Ive seen him he's looked steady if unspectacular which is probably what we're looking for, unless our new man has his eyes on something better.

If we werent continually having to look for a new manager what else would we have talk about during the close season.
Seriously though every new manager is a risk. This one is no different to anyone else we appoint.
He might bugger off after a season or he might just bring something we've all been looking for and become a club legend.
Either way I'm more excited about this appointment than I would be if we had gone with one of the recycled shit tactics Scottish managers.

We’ve had a fair number of managers who were with the OF:
Roger Hynd   Â
Davie Hay  Â
Jock Wallace Â
Bobby Watson
Tommy McLean    Â
Terry Butcher  Â
Stuart McCall. Â
Alex McLeish Â
Billy DaviesThe only one I had no time for was Jock Wallace who IMO was an ignoramus.
Funnily enough Im reading Tommy McLeans autobiography right now and it's spooky that a lot of stuff he talks about is even more relevant these days like the lack of young talent being given a chance for example.
