Someone on twitter is considering handing their seasons in for a refund because SOD has signed on again.

Probably the same guy who boos him everytime he comes on the park.

Don't understand why anyone would get so wound up about a player.

Good riddance if he does give it up and one less a******e to put up with on social media.

I think the winners, or losers in this case, are those who've instantly come onto the forum following the announcement of SOD with a hard-on. There are several of you gleefully waiting to criticise and poke fun at those who come onto the forum to critique the fact that Kettlewell is seeking to rebuild the defence with the majority of those who were part of a unit that failed to keep more than three clean sheets in the league last season.

There was a chance this summer for a clean slate regarding the defence and for Kettlewell to put his stamp on the team. It was the biggest flaw in the squad last season. No matter how much Kettlewell fucked around with it, the team kept conceding, and Kelly can't take sole blame for that. Instead, Kettlewell offered terms to Butcher (refused), McGinn (accepted), SOD (accepted) and Mugabi (considering), so more fool him and those who think his continuity approach to solving the problem of the defence is something worth celebrating.

At least you didn't use the word "shite"

Quite possibly the most sensible thing I've ever read on here.

    Seconded.

Soundbites and clichés are all very well and our potential investor makes them paint a pretty picture but I'll wait till we see the actual amounts he intends to invest, how it would be used and what he's looking for in return before I make my mind up.

Just going to say. As much as I don't agree with steelboy a lot of the time. I wouldn't say he's off his head. I also do think he's a Motherwell fan. He's just got different opinions to some other people on here. And that's ok.

Except when he's slagging off Slattery 🤣🤣

I wouldn't know as I've had him on ignore for months.

Thing that always bothers me about the League Cup groups is whn we get beat or look shagged, people say 'ooooh it's early in the season, they're not ready yet'

Do the lower division opposition not play to the same season and close season as us ?

I would say that the lower league teams tend to have a more settled squad who know each other and have a set style of play and formation whereas we are usually blooding new players and trying out different things so can look a bit disjointed in games.

Can't say I've noticed much difference in general fitness levels in the games I've seen tbh.

    That's my theory anyway.

  6. Maybe Butcher just wanted to go back down south. He'll get a gig down there no bother at all.

We'll never get to hear how contract negotiations go with players and quite rightly so.

The rumour mill has certainly dried up quite a bit since Caldwell came in and again quite rightly so as the leaks coming out of the club in the past have been ridiculous and possibly cost us potential signings.

Just tell us all of the available players you think are pish and why we should not be signing them over the summer, in a single post it will save you time and effort and it will be less drivel  for the rest of us to ignore.

He'd be quicker telling us the ones who aren't pish

  8. As far as I can see  the only area where he would make any return would be from the Social Media angle although I fail to see what a documentary series or weekly blog on a wee team from Lanarkshire would generate in the way of major revenue to justify his investment.

In saying that you hear of people becoming millionaires purely on the utter shite they post on Tik Tok and similar platforms so who's to say that something similar couldn't happen with us.

My gut instinct says fire it into the sea but my curiosity is aroused to see what the actual proposal is.

It'll be a game we can all enjoy without worrying about the result. If someone had told me that earlier in the season, I'd have taken it.

Considering some had us already relegated back in January I'm with you.

Better than being a Saints or County fan.

  10. Goin up for this one but don't really know what to expect.

Will we be fired up to try and get 7th or will we treat it as a stroll in the Park. County will certainly be fighting  for their lives so probably start favourites

Either way it's a nice day out in glorious sunshine and win lose or draw I'll enjoy the day and be well away from the bigot fest.

Heard the two boys from Raith have signed, I work with their scout, says both are decent in championship, but thinks they will struggle in the Premier. The joy.

I remember the Dundee boys were saying exactly the same thing when they signed McCowan from Ayr Utd.

That turned out no too shabby for them.

    A couple to add...

Jake Hastie been released by Hartlepool

Not quite a former player, but sad to hear of Chris McClure's (Stage name, Christian) passing yesterday. If I recall correctly, he was also a director at Motherwell back in the late '70's / early '80's. I can remember getting his autograph back in the day and on hearing I was a 'Well fan, signed it 'Up the 'Well'. Good guy, will be missed.

Remember taking a banner to one of our games when he was appointed a director that said

    "Onward Christian's Soldiers".

Got slagged stupid by my fellow choir members.

Me neither he can be really good but he's a potential bomb scare at times guaranteed at least one or two mistakes every game.

Brilliant at heading the ball away but you look through your fingers when it's at his feet.

That's a bit harsh. People on here are allowed an opinion whether you agree with it or not. It's a democracy. There's no need to be verbally abusive to others if they disagree with your opinion. Its Motherwell FC forum. Not "happy clapper" forum. Whether opinions are positive, overtly negative or balanced, they should all be allowed to be heard and respected.

Fair enough, everyones entitled to their view but when it's constant and never ending criticism something that's a minor irritant eventually becomes really annoying so I can understand why people rise to the bait.
