  1. It's all about opinions I know, but I just don't agree at all. I can recall only one or two mistakes defensively the whole season, other than that I reckon he's been pretty solid. I'm always shocked at how often you see the wee man out jumping guys practically a foot taller than him to get his head on a ball.
  2. I've read various posts on here (and on FPC) since the wee man made his return last season moaning about his performances. Today I was browsing and came across the table of top Assists in the SPL this season: SPL Assists. I was not at all surprised to see that Stevie comes out on top for Motherwell players, but I think that in creating 16% of all our goals this season, and being the only player in the bottom 6 to be in the top 10 in th SPL, he deserves a bit more credit than he gets currently. I was a big fan of Jim Patterson, but IMO Hammell is better going forward AND equally as good defensively. Just wondered if the posts I've read represent what the majority of the fans think, or if more people agree with me that Stevie is one of (if not the) most important player in the team just now.
  3. Full price for the East this year was £270 (though I paid £260 with the early bird offer). So with the 10% discount you're looking at £243 for the season to sit in the East. Still too expensive I know but when compared to the £350 being charged down the road at the Accies it is pretty reasonable IMHO.

Nah, that's exactly what a Motherwell strip should look like. I'd need to stock up so I could wear it for the next 20 years as who knows what monstrosities we'd go through before gettin another kit as good. All I really meant was that I thought that top was the dogs bollocks!

If our new strip looks remotely like that I'll be buying ten. One thing though, is that a hoop or a band?
  6. Ah, but was it a genuine rumour??
  7. As much as I like the lad and can't stand the amount of abuse dished out every week to Fitzpatrick, I can't believe that there's folk voted for him as man of the match. I always stick up for him but I don't know how anybody can say that he had anything other than an absolute nightmare on Saturday. Everybody's entitled to their opinion I suppose! I agree with most that JOB would have been a good shout but I gave it to the Dazzler. I would never normally nominate a sub, but I thought the lad made a real difference when he came on. Always shows a great deal of commitment, but hasn't really made an impact in recent games, an exception this week I thought and let's hope it's an indication he can get back to the form which made us think he was such a prospect a couple of years back.
  8. I reckon the performance of every one of the 'Well fans in Nancy gained enough bonus points to ensure scotland in the running for this extra spot. It's only fair that it goes to Motherwell!!
  9. Though in my time of going to Fir Park I can't say that there's ever been a biggotted atmosphere, if there were I certainly wouldn't go to the games with my wife and would think twice about going myself. That very thing is the main reason to hate the OF. I've always liked the fact that our fans the vast majority of the time either support (or actually more often moan about) the team. This whole "you're in the wrong f*ckin country" stuff that had been coming up recently is completely cringworthy. IMO, the whole H*ns without a busfare thing is, and has always been nonsense. A typical Old Firm viewpoint that as always shows that they cannot believe that any aspect of scottsh football might not be about them. Anyhow. Back on topic . I reckon JOB has started to prove his doubters wrong, he's had a few good performances and is looking better match by match. Still got a fair bit to go to prove that he really is the real deal, he does need to work on his final ball, but he is still a young boy after all.
  10. I've never really been able to understand this hatred towards guys who, for whatever reason, end up playing international football for another country. McGeady I hate, but mainly because he's a moanin faced wee pr!ck, not because he chose to play for Ireland. I do though find it hard to understand why a young scottish lad with two scottish parents would choose to play for another country given that choice. I can see the difference and why somebody like him, who was probably good enough to have the choice to play for his OWN country or another, gets more abuse than guys who would never have that choice, as they were not good enough to play for the country of their birth. But at the end of the day thats his choice so F*ck him. I don't remember anybody within the 'Well support having any ill feeling toward certian other Scottish, ROI internationals to grace the Claret and Amber, Owen Coyle and more notably Tommy Coyne m'lord.
  11. Yeah, I'd imagine so. There was a quote from McGhee from a couple of weeks back saying that he had given the responsibility to Meldrum to identify a new keeper for if and when Buzz left. I assume that this is what's happened and Smith will be off in the summer. Did a good job for us and didn't merit much of the criticism dished out by sections of the support IMHO. If he does leave for pastures new it'll be with my best wishes. I think we'll have made a bit of a saving as Fraser's wages won't be near that of Buzz. Let's just give the lad some time to prove himself before deciding he's no good enough!

To be fair nobody would have noticed it if you hadn't pointed it out!

It's not rocket science, a right footed player, playing on the left will most likely cut inside onto their stronger foot. Neither started on the left on Saturday where Fitz came in and did his usual steady job, I see no reason for dropping him. O'Brien had a decent game on the right (in spite of his poor final ball) and given a run in the team could make this spot his own. Quinn did not play centre mid against Hamilton, he played in Midfield and did ok although certainly not his best position. In games where he HAS actually played centre half IMO he's performed ok. Saunders has had 2 decent performances and looks a good prospect but Quinn is the number 1 right back at the club, and will remain that way for the forseeable future. He played well at the weekend and supplied a good cross for the second goal.
  14. Even if there were any motherwell tickets left I'd very much doubt that the police would allow it. St Mirren website now saying game sold out.
  15. They said at the time that our original allocation was 500, not surprized these have sold out as we normally take more than that through to Paisley. Not sure how many of the additional 400 we'll sell, but I'd like to think a fair few. Looking forward to it, the vast majority of the home end is sold out and it should be a good atmosphere, headin through for a few pints with St Mirren supporting mates before the game. Big occasion for them. I know I'd be a bit emotional leaving the 'Ark, a lot of memories from childhood. Especially leaving your home for a breeze block windtunnel as the Buddies are doin. Another good scottish ground bites the dust and yet more money from scottish football in the pocket of Barr Construction, a sad day. PS. Lets spoil the Party! 'Mon the Well!
  16. Probably as long as it's taken to draught a promised letter to all season ticket holders with their promised incentives? The admin side of our club has always left a lot to be desired. Though in this day and age you would expect a premier league club to be a lot more proffessional in everything that they do. Motherwell FC seem to stumble blindly from one crisis to the next, making it up as they go along. But hey, if you're going to be a fan then get used to it! Up the 'Well! B)
