  1. Hey Guys, looking for a bit of help. My Son has asked Santa for the away kits/tops from 2019/20 (white) and 2017/18 (black) both Macron, which obviously can't be bought anywhere. Any chance any fellow well fans have kids grown out of these and are in decent condition? He's 9 but quite big for his age. Happy to pay a decent rate for them, and it would save the magic of Santa for maybe 1 more year Please let me know. Thanks, Colin
  2. I'm watching from 'overseas' tonight, is it normal for the video to not be on yet?
  3. McLean came off the bench against Accies, so i wouldn't say he's "nowhere near the team".
  4. Our two bogey teams in recent years have been Killie and St Mirren. One of them put to bed last time out, reckon we can give the other mob a doing at the weekend. 3-0 to the good guys (Anier, Sutton and Vigurs)
  5. The difference being that in England they won't overreact and change the law because of one or two groups of fans. Trouble in once match in Scotland saw the ban coming in to force. As it was the only match that matters in Scottish football and nobody else matters.

    Jim Gannon

I remember the start of the Jim Gannon era with a lot of hope and excitement. The first couple of month or so went really well and things were looking good, young players coming through and the team playing well. However I think some folk are forgetting how bad it actually was after that initial period. While his sacking was mainly down to factors away from the results on the pitch, the team were absolutely shocking in that period. Gannon won only 1 of his last 10 games at Motherwell, conceding 25 goals! His head was stuck so far up his own arse that despite shipping goals for fun he never once in an SPL match started with Craigan and Reynolds. (As far as I remember) The first thing Brown did when he came in was revert back to Craigan and Reynolds in the centre of defence, the result? 2 goals conceded in the next 10 SPL games. I fully believe that if Gannon hadn't got the bullet, the slide would have continued and we'd have been in serious trouble.
  7. Absolutely no logical reason for thinking it, as Kuban clearly should be better than us in every department. There's also the play off round to negotiate (most likely against more high class opposition), but I've got a funny feeling in my gut about the Europa League this season!
  8. Exactly, We'll see the place packed to the rafters for the first group game!
  9. Is it just me that thinks later on a Saturday seems like a great time for a game?
  10. How can you compare jumping on a schedule flight to Alicante to chartering a plane to Iceland/Albania etc? Apples and bananas.
  11. This is true, but only if the draw for the next round is before the conclusion of the current round. eg. If Rosenborg were to lose to an unseeded team in round 1, that team would be defacto seeded in round 2 as the draw for round 2 had already taken place. They would not then be seeded in round 3 as the draw fo round 3 is after the conclusion of round 1. They like to make things simple!
  12. Kind of. The draw for our round is before the completion of the previous round. So "Winner of Rubin Kazan vs Hibs" would assume Rubin Kazan's seeding in round 3 draw. If Hibs were then to win the tie, the draw would have aready been done so they would be playing an unseeded side.
  13. HA! I hadn't even noticed that (copied and pasted) but if they are going to take Englands coefficient of 16.5926 and not Wales's of 0.5166 then they can't complain about me calling them English (they are representing England in the competition!)
  14. The pot of teams we could get in terms of travelling looks a lot better to me than it has in previous years. They kind of fall into 3 brackets: 1) Would likely be a bastard to get to: Rubin Kazan Rus Hapoel Tel-Aviv Isr Maccabi Haifa Isr Metalurg Donetsk Ukr Chernomorets Odesa Ukr Trabzonspor Tur Bursaspor Tur 2) Probably OK but might be some issues: Lech Poznan Pol AaB Aalborg Den Anorthosis Famagusta Cyp Rosenborg BK Nor MSK Zilina Svk Levski Sofia Bul Omonia Nicosia Cyp 3) Would be a skoosh: Standard Liège Bel Udinese Ita Club Brugge Bel Viktoria Plzeň/Sparta Prague Cze AS Saint-Étienne Fra Sevilla/Getafe/Levante/Espanyol/Athletic Bilbao Esp FC Zürich Sui Swansea City Eng Eintracht Frankfurt/VfB Stuttgart Ger FC Utrecht Ned Estoril Praia Por Rapid Vienna/Sturm Graz Aut
  15. According to Bert Kassies site the dates are as follows: August 8, 2013 3rd qualifying round Europa League, 2nd leg August 9, 2013 draw for 4th qualifying round (play-off round) Europa League So there would be no carrying forward of seeding from 3rd round to the play off round.
  16. Yeah, everybody gets 20% of their nations coefficient as a base then their own ranking added on top. Estoril have not been in Europe in years so only take Portugals base ranking. Due to really good performances by Porto and Benfica in recent seasons Portugals ranking is very high. 5th overall in europe. Portugal have a ranking of 59.168, so any team has as a base ranking 59.168 * 20% = 11.833
  17. Of that list for the jaunt I'd have one of: - Club Brugge - FC Zürich For best chance of qualification probably: - Rosenborg BK (we pumped the last Norwegian side) - Omonia Nicosia (3rd/4th in Cypriot League with similar recent Euro record to ourselves) For best all round trip/chance the one team that stands out is: - Estoril Praia (Just outside Lisbon which is a great city, finished a distant 5th in the Portugese league, just promoted last season and no real pedegree in Europe)
  18. The coefficient required for seeding in each round will vary a fair amount depending on which teams have qualified, last season the seeding was from 9.566 - 104.996, our coefficient is 7.038, which would be good enough some seasons but not this year it would seem. A few more lower ranked qualifiers from some leagues and we could have been in with a shout.
  19. Ah, I do apologise, I never noticed that the draw for 3rd round was actually before the second leg of the 2nd round. In this case you are right and seedings would be carried forward from round 2 (but not round 1). What odds you think you would get on NONE of the 12 potential higher placed teams qualifying AND Rosenborg, MSK Zilina and CSKA Sofia all getting knocked out by total minnows in round 1, leaving Motherwell to scrape into 29th place and the very final seeding position in round 3!
  20. Not quite true, there are 31 teams just now who would be seeded above us (this could rise to 43 depending on leagues which are not yet finished). Only 13 teams that automatically qualify for round 3 are seeded above us (could rise to 16) But as the 3rd round draw is on a different date to rounds 1&2 there will be no "carrying over" of seedings for lower ranked teams who beat seeded teams in round 2. We could end up in a position where any 3 of the 18 higher ranked teams losing their round 2 tie could boost Motherwell into the seeded pot for round 3, not impossible. (In the worst case scenario we would need 14 out of 28 teams to lose their round 2 ties, closer to impossible)
  21. Had one at the weekend and was pretty good. All the food under the last mob of contracters was barely edible, absolutely disgusting. IMO there has been a marked improvement over the past couple of seasons. The club did announce getting Chapmans back in. They may have changed suppliers since then I suppose, but the pies to these unsophisticated taste buds, have been pretty good.
  22. Pretty sure we went back to Chapmans when the club took back the running of the pie stalls from the contracters who were running them before. Either way the pie's are definately better since then, and after early hickups everything seems better run that before too. Also the pie and drink meal deal for £3.70 is better value than you get at most SPL grounds, not amazing value, but decent.
