  1. Wahey!! Do I win a prize? Much, much better team performance tonight. Whole team played well but particularly Slane, O'Brien, Suanders and lasley. Even McGarry had a good game!! Special praise for Sutton with 2 great headers and also for Murphy. Also thought Page and Archdeacon did well when they came on. However the shakiness of our defence at set-pieces gave me more than a few nervous moments during the game. Hopefully this is something Gannon will have noted and will have the team working on during the next week
  2. 3-0 to the 'Well. Mon the 'Well!!! However if we lose tomorrow at work is going to be pure purgatory!!!
  3. Can't get time off work to go down to Wales but planning to go either to JDs or the Electric to watch the game (Electric is nearer home but it was pretty dead when I was in a couple of Saturday nights ago)
  4. I got absolute pelters at work today. My patience was wearing a bit thin by morning teabreak and the straw that nearly broke the camels's back was to find that some smartarse had written Llanelli AFC in black marker on my MFC mug. Narrowed the suspect down to the sole Hammies fan in the work as none of the OF bigots fans can spell!!!
  5. Deadline was Monday. We had to submit a list of up to a max of 28 players to UEFA. So a good few of our under-19s are on that list
  6. 2-0. Very cagey 1st 80 minutes then 2 goals in the last 10 minutes
  7. A glowing report, Cheshire Cat, for a manager and a man that you obviously have a lot of respect for. I for one am prepared to have patience with Gannon and I just hope the vast majority of my fellow 'Well fans do likewise. Looking forward to what should be a very interesting season
  8. Just done a bit of research into Gannon and it looks like JB has made a good choice. Gannon had a good record at Stockport and ex-players of his speak highly of him. Looking forward to see what he can do for us
  9. I was in the ticket office this afternoon and the lassie at the desk said they had sold over 800 tickets for the away leg and that another batch of tickets was being couriered up from Wales to meet the expected weekend rush
  10. Sure does. Even the old firm fans I work with keep asking me about the latest 'Well developments. There's been that many lately I'm nearly losing track
  11. I'm still waiting for mine as well. Phoned the club on Monday and was told they'll be posted out this week so hopefully it will come tomorrow or Friday
  12. If we got Calderwood would Jimmy Nichol be his assistant? Would that be curtains for Leitch?
  13. Front page of the Record - Mogga for Celtic. Not a mention of McGhee anywhere in the sports section wheter to do with Celtic of the Dons. The only story about 'Well is a wee article about the new pitch
  14. I know its a large country. Worked there myself for 6 months at the Tengiz oilfields in the south. That was a 7 hour train journey from Atyrau where the flight from the UK landed. My mate is in Almaty which is about 2500km from Atyrau. Anyway enough of the geography lesson, it would certainly be an adventure going to somewhere like Kazahkstan
  15. I'd never even been to Motherwell until 10 years ago when I first met my (then to be) wife as she's 'Well born and bred. Now lived in the 'Well for 8 years. As for fitba I'll have to admit I did have a wee spell of going to Ibrox for a couple of seasons in the mid 90s. Started going to Fir Park 4 seasons ago with the wife's uncle and some of his mates. Got a season ticket last season and only missed 1 home game. Just renewed season ticket for next season so I can safely say my passion for the Steelmen is going from strength to strength. Come on ye 'Well
  16. I hope its Kazakhstan. I've got a mate who works out there so that's the digs sorted. I dare say he could organise a bit of local talent as well
  17. Just back from Aberdeen this afternoon (was up there with work for a couple of days) and I was reading an article in the Aberdeen Evening Express last night by Joe Harper. The article was basically about guys that wouldn't be suitable for the new manager of Aberdeen. Top of the list - Mark McGhee. Harper's reasons for him not being suitable were he's never won anything as a manager and he had under-acheived at Motherwell.
