  1. I have no issue that there wasn't, he had no association with our club, he wasn't Scottish so no affinity there and he hadn't achieved something momentus or stand out in the game as a whole. It is a horrible disease and I feel for him and his family but I think the club got this one right. Otherwise every weekend we'll have black armbands on for the tea lady at Aberdeen or Dempster's dug. I was critical of Calderwood for this comments in the aftermath of O'Donnell but the context and circumstances were different, he passed away on a pitch midway through a match, he was also not divisive. As for the game, it was an absolute non event until we scored, we are now known as a counter attacking team and opponents will try to stifle that. Morton did it in the early part of the season and Ross County did it here and in both cases we huffed and puffed (I can't speak for Livingston away as I wasn't there). The goal was well worked however we may have had more of a breakthrough if Seedorf follows a simple rule, "easy ball or beat a man and cross". All this trying to take it that little bit extra then by and large shooting caused our attacks to peter out. His goal against Hearts was a peach but I can't help but feel that he thinks he's too good to be playing at our level. I would agree that diagonal balls from our centre backs is more wasteful than it is fruitful, especially when their furthest player forward when defending was 6-7 yards shy of the halfway line. Carroll seems to have stolen Dunne's, just keep getting sent off playbook as their early contributions after arriving are almost carbon copies. Stupidity in extreme. By all means take a yellow in a key area but not a nothing ball where there is no danger. Polworth's removal did make a difference and highlighted as it often did with Lasley, you don't give him credit when he's on but notice when he's not. That's because we don't recognise the donkey work as much as the flair.
  2. Didn't he play more minutes last season than any other player? If so it kinda doesn't make what you say make sense. I understand he was ill/injured as we started our run and Robinson didn't want to change a winning team, that why he's not featured much since. I love Grimshaw for his endeavour, his fight and the fact he and his father bought into the idea of our club more so than any other player. I also pray that one day a 70 yard mazy run will end up with the ball in the back of the net just to see his reaction. I felt he was lacking at various times in the first half against County, passing was cronic and naive but as the game progressed the started to come together. He's still a wee bit hot and cold in terms of consistency.
  3. Even if he wasn't on their shortlist/radar/tapped or whatever phrase they wish to use, not surprised a journo at either the Record or the Sun would suggest a manager with poorer resources is outperforming the manager at a club with bigger ones was a target. It's as predictable as a crazy lower league goalkeeper story 3 days before the third round of the Scottish Cup in January
  4. Well unless he signs for LA Galaxy and ends up at Scunthorpe 24 hours later
  5. Compliments to the Hearts Cyber Security team for ensuring I can't find one option to watch this
  6. Groin injury eh? I thought he got rabies after visiting the dog shelter for the MFCTV bit "theez woof woof bro, proppa dope, but moufs all foameee"
  7. Only unnecessary if he doesn't have a season like Kipre or Henneghan and gets us 400k next summer.
  8. Can anyone confirm if he's getting 8 hours sleep a night, 3 nutritious meals, hydrated and at least one poo per day?
  9. Wasn't he offered reduced terms till xmas, see how things lie and then take it from there. starting at 10, done by 12, there would be plenty of yummy mummy's in gymshark gear to get through in the afternoon and early evening surely rather than pie football altogether.
  10. So our new strips are teakers and brisk trade in the club shop. Great chat
  11. Irony is we often get upset at the naivety and/or arrogance of English players and fans to the Scottish game and SPFL however it appears many North of the border do the same when talking about any team not to grace the EPL in the past 20 years .... just sayin
  12. I thought it was only The Rangers fans who boycott the BBC when they tell the truth? Probably a decision made to avoid the accusation of refereee bashing, but a failure in reporting. If the margin was narrower I suspect it would have been in as controversy is what all TV demands now.
  13. Don't agree with this, it was definitely worthy of inclusion so the decision to leave it out was a conscious decision. Also our package was released before Sportscene was broadcast. The problem with the second part is because of the dearth of coverage of this it will overlooked. No mention in Sutherland's BBC report and probably only covered in a few newspaper reports.
  14. Don't follow? Not talking about a blatant penalty and having it confirmed by both pundits means Micheal Stewart got an extra 30 seconds with his 40" iPad
  15. You may blame Sportscene rightly for that. The following Seedorf love in while not mentioning anyone else who had arguably better game (Hartley and Scott on here with Seedorf getting 1 vote from 69 at present speaks volumes). It was not a surprise seeing that on the telly as Sutherland was at FP covering the game and his post match report waxed lyrical about our Dutch winger. Let us also not overlook the "Gorrin is key to everything Motherwell do" from Michael Stewart last season when he'd played a grand total of 20 minutes the whole season before the game in question. However if we are going to give the BBC some heat then it is worth noting that the same incident was omitted from the clubs own highlight package. At to why I don't know, to save controversy? Because I'd rather see stuff like that than a pitchside, sweaty Liam Grimshaw within minutes of the final whistle.
  16. Radio Scotland interview with Robinson there, he confirmed that Donnelly was offered a new contract and hopes he will sign during the international break
  17. Kipre had 5 contract upgrades by Hallowe'en if my memory serves me correct
  18. Easy way to sort it, follow UEFA's example and not only give up the seats but the value of them are donated to charity, In the case of Rangers to St. Vincent de Paul or CAFOD and Celtic, Help for Heroes or PoppyScotland. Can you imagine the seethe with (3000 x £30) £90k a whip going to these places ...... delicious
  19. I quite like this fact. Rangers play 1 game in Europe and get a 3,000 seat ban and a public rebuke. The do it again against Warsaw and in advance of a ban they advise they won't take up a ticket allocation for their next away UEFA game. Rangers and Celtic have played under the SFA for over 130 years and SPFL for what 10 now? Let's total up the games without any sanction or actions by two organisations scared to act.
  20. Robinson advised in Hibs presser that we had a deal fall through but hopeful of someone on Monday. Ideally of sufficient calibre and previous clubs to keep the usual suspects from running him down before Provan presses a number onto a shirt for the photo call.
  21. Sadly your da went with the same life lesson with the jonnie instructions
  22. Long was among the less shit performers on Friday, for me he deserves a start before Cole, Seedorf or Hylton.
  23. Not anything less than I'd expect 3 games into the season, cup game playing against a side from a city with 500,000 inhabitants. As for Melvin's comments. Too soon to be that pessimistic we played a league winners with a team pretty much settled and adapted to the pace of our game. We played the team with the 4th best home record in the top flight last season. Our starting line up is pretty much 4 players who were not up to speed and having to build stamina and fitness quickly and that will come with time.
