  1. The boo boys are a necessary part of football. End of. I don't agree with them and most of the time what comes out of their mouths is utter pish but it wouldn't be half as much fun without them. Fir Park would be a very boring place indeed!

  2. i'm not pleading for patience just to have a little faith  , i'm just giving reasons as to why the pitch is in bad condition just now

it will be nice to hear your comments next season :)

The pitch is in bad condition just now for one reason and one reason only... money. If we had made the investment and done the work that was promised by Boyle last winter then we wouldn't find ourselves in the exact same farcical position we were in a year ago. Thats why people are short on patience and sceptical about promises made with regards to the pitch, and you can hardly blame them.

  3. The pitch is a bloody disgrace. I would venture the following points:

    1. Every pitch in the country is not 'in a state' at this time of year - ICT, Kilmarnock and Dundee Utd pitches are in really good nick just now.

    2. The deterioration in the FP pitch did not happen overnight as the pitch and its maintenance (or lack of it) have been awful for a number of years now.

    3. Moving is not the only solution to having a good pitch - get it dug up, sort out all the drainage problems, fix the undersoil heating, relay a quality surface. The get decent groundstaff in to maintain the bloody thing.

Yes it will cost money to remedy it but so what because it needs to be sorted. Our manager and team strengths are in playing a passing game and with a pitch like this its costing us dear as it takes the skill factor out of the game and teams we would normally pass off the park are able to come and get results they hardly deserve.

Totally agree. All the excuses people (not only the club) come up with don't cut the mustard.

  4. There's always usually one or two players in a squad that the fans don't take to and come in for criticism when the team's not playing well. But it's not unique to Motherwell fans.

Shaun McSkimming is the example that always springs to mind. It didn't matter what he did he was always the first to get it. It's just the way it is and I don't think it will ever change.

  5. Or maybe they need to have a word with their bank manager. There is an economic crisis going on right now, and not everybody has money to fritter away on football matches.

Oi, there's no place for logical well thought out answers on here my friend!

  6. Everything MFC do is hammered by the members of this board and the good things they do are not as good as other teams have done.

That's simply not true. However, when people do criticise the Club can u really blame them? We, as a Club, consistently get the basics wrong. No other Club in the SPL has the problems we have had. And when we do have a good ideas we inevitably fuck it up!

Why don't we fuck of and support someone else. . . . .?

Cos we live in the hope that if we shout loud enough things at our beloved Club might improve.

    Or shut the fuck up!?

If we're not allowed to voice an opinion in the stands, or on the forum, where exactly should we voice it?

    Just a thought!

Here's another, we don't all think like you.

  7. I seem to remember the Club getting a lot of criticism for letting prisoners work in the ground on a day release scheme. It made the front page of The Sun. I think they were convicted murderers if I remember correctly. The Motherwell brand took a bit of stick for it but I saw it as a positive thing for us to be doing.

I know the players and manager are always doing hospital visits and charity stuff, they're never out the Wishaw Press. If you search on this site I think the Club were praised for their involvment with a fan who recently passed away from cancer, they had his memorial service at Fir Park. I think that is an important role that the Club plays.

We got a bit of good press a few years ago when a wee boy wrote to all the SPL clubs saying he was looking for a team to support and we sent him free tickets so he became a Well fan.

As far as fan loyalty goes I think Community Work is very important, the Club have to be out there contributing to the community who in turn hopefully support the team. Its important especially in Scotland that the Club get the attention of the kids as early as possible so the Old Firm don't get their nasty claws into them.

  8. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my observations Flow. I, like the majority of fans appreciate it and understand it is a time consuming and at times tedious job.

I must admit tho I was a little confused when you mentioned the press release regarding the pricing scheme, I must have totally missed this and I am a daily vistor to the Official Site. However, I must admit that if it's not one of the revolving news articles under the Latest News banner on the home page then I often miss things.

  9. I would try and make sure the contact details you have for season ticket holders are as up to date as possible. It appears that quite a few folk don't get a season ticket renewal letter or letters such as the "Dear Supporter" letter re the new pricing scheme.

Don't set and subsequently miss your own deadlines without any update for the Fans on the website. If you say for example a list of names is going to be up on the site for Friday it should be, otherwise an update should be issued so we aren't left in the dark.

  10. Actually I do not gauge the performance of the admin staff on the basis of how well the team is performing. It is either crap or it is not. Almost everything they attempt to do is problematic. The Nancy tickets fiasco - the new pricing structure. Thankfully they are dealing with a fanbase of 4-5000 or else it would be worse. That said the admin people try their hardest and they are probably not that well paid and even under resourced.

My point is a simple one, I will continue supporting the Team when players, chairman, and admin staff come and go, whether the team are up and down, in the SPL or the 2nd Division. It just depresses me to read fans saying - I am no going back - the team is shit , the club admin is shit etc etc. Some are sounding off and deep down love this club which is why they are so frustrated. But right now is the time to get behind the team not abandon them!

As has been said before, I think out Club's problems run far deeper than the Admin Staff, and again like many have said before they do a great job under the circumstances. That's not even an issue for me.

It's the decision makers that I have a problem with, we are like a rudderless ship at the minute and the ridiculous pricing scheme recently implemented can only be described as baffling.

I think we are the only club in Britain who could manage to alienate its fans and those of the majority of other clubs in the league whilst actually cutting prices! I don't blame anyone for running out of patience with the Club.

The point I was making before was that these problems have been steadily getting worse over the last few years and have been masked by the team's success on the pitch. Now that's gone what is there to attract us to Fir Park on a cold wet Monday night?

  11. Good to see the majority of fans getting behind the club in times of hardship. Oh wait a minute I got that wrong - it would appear that most want to jump ship when the going gets tough :)

Yes the club is shambolic at the moment in terms of on field and off field performance, but we have been here before and will be in this position again. As long as I can afford to, I will always buy a season ticket and support Motherwell FC with my cash and presence, right up until the day I die.

That does not make me better than anyone else - I just wish people would accept our limitations as a club. I know a lot is frustration coming to the boil. But if you want to support a team who perform well week in week out might I suggest you go and support Man Utd or Chelsea or dare I say it one of the gruesome twosome from our neck of the woods.

I have to disagree. Well fans have put up with far more than most over the years. The rediculously amateurish way the Club is run is nothing short of embarrassing.

We put up with it becuase the team was punching above it's weight but now they're under performing fans aren't as willing to turn a blind eye any longer. It's as simple as that.
