  1. Don't know if your at the wind up but I've always thought Kerr was a decent player who is wasted in the role he's asked to do .And like one or two others his confidence has suffered.

I was actually only half joking. I think he's probably been one of our best (or least worse) performers this year.

I think he's a decent young player (when played in his natural position) and has potential to turn into a key player for us. I'd be dropping McManus for him.

  2. Alex Neil with Accies took one game to get his side to score and win at Parkhead. McCall took 9 games to get a goal and a single point. We don't need to look too far to see what the major problem currently is and what the answer to it is.

Yes. I can't believe McCall wasn't sacked after that first goalless game at Parkhead. That is completely unacceptable.

Imagine what we could've achieved if someone competent was in charge? Three successive runner up spots instead of two, maybe?

  3. There's NO WAY McCall can go away on International duty now considering the SHITE we're in. He should also be getting a new coach in and punting Black. This is now serious and he needs to make serious decisions we're in a relegation battle now and if we go down.... :( It's the same players who finished 2nd last year and this term we're absolutely pish awfull. He has a small window of opportunity to put things better with hard work on the training field and he needs to oversee it. DONT RELY ON BLACK HE'S HOPELESS!! :( . McCall im sure will be offski at the end of the season but if he has our relegation on his cv then his career is fecked as is Motherwell's future. TIME TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE!!! If we dont improve after the break he has to go.

How do you know that Black's hopeless?

It's the same management team that finished 2nd last year as well.

  4. Despite doing brilliantly last season I wasn't always a fan of the Lasley/Carswell midfield duo. I felt we were a bit one dimensional at times (see our inability to beat our fellow top six teams last year). Lasley and Carswell are good "all-rounders" who are decent at everything but excellent at nothing. I think they're too similar to play together and we'd definitely benefit from a change. I'd quite like to see Lawson sitting deep with Lasley playing alongside Vigurs who'd be allowed to roam free and not worry too much about defending.

Let's play players in their best positions/roles like you said, Fat Tony.

ETA: I don't blame McCall for sticking with the straightforward 442 thus far. It's worked tremendously well (tremendously, brilliantly, fantastically well in fact) for us before this season, but that's a dozen games this season and it's obviously no working.

  5. It's not just McCall, it's all his signings too. Think of the money we have wasted on McManus, neilsen, twardzick, Ramsden, Vigurs, Lawson, Ainsworth, and josh law.

McManus - Experienced pro that's played at the highest level. He's no been brilliant since he joined but he's a good player.

Nielsen - I agree that he's a waste of money, but he'll have been Marshall's signing and not McCall's.

Twardzik - He's not great but he's still a young lad. Cheap option.

Ramsden - Spends a lot of time on the injury table but he was our best player last year when he was playing.

Vigurs - His defensive work rate and ability leaves much to be desired. Our most talented player who is a joy to watch when on form.

Lawson - Has spent a while injured but it's obvious he's a good player. Could be good with a run in the team but will likely go with the breakthrough of Leitch.

Ainsworth - Seriously?! You not remember last year? Has been known to hide in games but he's one of 2 or 3 players capable of winning a game for us.

Law - He's been pretty rotten but has had to make a big step up from non-league. One year deal and he'll be on peanuts, hardly a big risk. I don't think he's as bad as a lot of folk are making out but he definitely shouldn't have started as many games as he has.

  6. Almost a ying to the club email topic yang.

Just had a call from the club thanking me for renewing my season ticket, and outlining current packages on offer for future games and events.

I thought it was a nice personal touch that they took time out to call; I appreciate that we're going through a rough patch on the pitch, and I think there is a lot right at the club, such as this. Fair play to them for making the effort!

I had a similar call from a girl at the club last week talking about hospitality for ST holders etc. A nice touch, like you said. Hospitality's not something I've ever done or am really that interested in, but she did make me aware of the offers which I didn't know about.

  7. Eh ?Shaka makes some valid points that alan burrows might find interesting .

My reply wasn't aimed at just him to be fair. The man's been in the job only a matter of months, and has done absolutely nothing wrong as far as I can tell.

I think people are far too quick to slate him, McCall, Kenny Black and every single player.

Imagine you got demoted in your job after being in it as short a time as he has? Or imagine that you got sacked (like some people are asking of Black) after having a slow start to the year in your job after 3 years of unparalleled success.

We're 5 games into a 38 game league season for fuck sake

  8. The worst thing of the full daybwas sitting a couple of rows behind a father and son combo of absolute loon balls who never stopped shouting absolute negative drivel throughout. The father was going off is nut about the flag thing for about 5 minutes! Cretins.

I know exactly who you're talking about so I feel your pain. The father was sat near to me at Tannadice the other week, but thankfully he had lost his voice by half time. He must be due a heart attack or something soon though, so we might get a break.

  9. is Leitch and Vigurs too attack minded?

For playing Kilmarnock? Probably not, but Vigurs is our only fit left sided player so I'd want him wide.

I'm not sure Lasley has had enough bad games to deserve to be dropped, and I'm not sure Leitch has had enough good games to merit starting over him, but I do think a midfield duo of Leitch and Carswell could be our best option at some point.

I think for next week with our makeshift defence, Lasley's experience would be beneficial. Central midfield isn't a problem in my eyes though. It's the wide areas that are of concern, although that's been mainly down to injuries and Ainsworth's lack of form. I'll be more inclined to judge us once we've had our strongest XI on the field.

  10. Right, but there are also guys like Ainsworth who seem to be carrying knocks that don't look 100% either.

Tbh, I reckon he (and the others) have just been rotten, simple as that. Ainsworth went from fucking unplayable to fucking unpick-able at times last year. If not, hopefully with us not having a midweek game anyone who is carrying a knock will be fine for Saturday.

We could really do with a win, even if it's just to calm the panty-wetters on here down.

  11. We've been keeping the injuries very hush-hush. First of all, because we obviously don't want other teams to be aware who is carrying and knock. Secondly, as McCall has said himself, because he doesn't want to use them as an excuse for poor performances.

I understand the reasoning, but it makes it a lottery trying to pick a lineup or a result for this game.

Well I think he did say after the Inverness game that he doesn't expect anyone else to be back. A couple of weeks I think he said before Hammell/Ramsden/ZFA will be training again.

I reckon it'll be the same squad as Saturday but with Ojamaa, O'Brien, Vigurs and Lawson hopefully that wee bit fitter.

  12. Fuck knows what team we'll put out. There's a good few that could be doing with getting dropped but unfortunately that can't happen.

    Twardzik

    Reid O'Brien McManus Kerr

    Ainsworth Lasley Carswell Vigurs

    Erwin Ojamaa

Hopefully it's something along those lines. The actual team selection won't bother me too much just as long as we go with a straight up 442. I reckon Ferguson would fare better if he had Vigurs playing in front of him, but on the assumption that this O'Brien is fit (and good) I wouldn't mind him coming in. Lasley to get the nod ahead of Leitch purely because of his experience.

  13. Can assure you there have been many keepers worse than Hollis at FirPark.

I can think of one who's still at the club.

I'm not entirely sure what Hollis did to be branded as shit. He was in fact one of our more reliable players last season.
