  1. I lost my Dad on hogmanay last year so my thoughts are with both him and Phil today. My Dad brought me up to be a 'Well fan and for that I will be eternally grateful. ' mon the dads.
  2. I was there that night as well. I rarely cry at football but I was in tears that night.
  3. I am totally disgusted. We made it easy for them and that is completely unacceptable. No heart. No fight. Ashamed by that performance.
  4. Completely disgusted by this capitulation. We don't have the heart for the fight. I am appalled and embarrassed to watch this.
  5. Higdon will always get the headlines with a hat trick but Darren kept us in the game yesterday especially with his save early on with the score 0-0. He was my motm.
  6. Isn't it great to know that our club is being run properly with a professional and competent management team at the helm. Our long term future is secure!!
  7. Scottish football is screwed! Higdon is banned for an innocuous gesture yet earlier this season Gary O'Connor gets away with a blatant dive even his assistand manager admitted to. The SFA are ruining the game. If this was not highlighted on Sportscene Higdons name would never have even been mentioned. As amateur a programme as you're likely to see. Oh well, at least it will give the Higdon boo boys a day off - unless they turn on someone else!
  8. A manager who actually explains his decisions in a logical way. Superb! Lets shout down the boo boys and get right behind the team!!
  9. On their lap of honour after the game Colin O'Neill kissed my mum while holding the Cup! She still talks about it to this day!!
  10. If we are not willing to match the workrate of the opposition we will be in trouble as last night proved. From the first whistle St Mirren closed us down yet when they had the ball they had time to pick a pass. They could bring the ball out of defence and find a player yet look at the amount of times Craigan had to give the ball back to Randolph because there was no pass available (not Craigans fault). What concerns me is why we turned in this type of performance after 2 wins in a row. If we start thinking we are a good team without rolling up our sleeves and battling we have no chance.
  11. Very sad to hear this terrible news. May he rest in peace.
  12. I was not planning to go but have changed my mind because I want to vent my frustration on the two faced wee liar!
  13. That was probably the league they were talking about!!
  14. Unless Blackburn wish to keep him in the shop window. Look what happened to Lucas last season - spent the entire season on loan to us where he had the chance to shine and then gets a £1m transfer to Coventry.
  15. We were magnificent today especially in the second half. There was not a failure in the team and we could have won by more. Humphrey was awesome and if he can maintain the form he showed today he is destined for big things. Hopefully we can cement third by getting our first home win next week. I was treated to corporate hospitality today so was sat amomgst the jambos. They were all screaming for Rudi to appear yet 10 minutes after he came on they were giving him dogs abuse! Could hardly contain my laughter!!
  16. The referee that night was JPR Gordon (or something like that) who was charged with corruption later in his career. He must have been 50 yards away from the ball when fat boy dived and I remember him running the length of the pitch before ending up in our penalty box pointing to the spot. I have cried on very few occasions while watching Motherwell but don't mind admitting I was in tears that night.
  17. The East of Scotland branch will remember your chat up line for a long time - we heard it often enough in Iceland! I'm sure you will find at least one pretty young Norwegian girl who will fall for the offer of a free ride in your London cab!!
  18. No, I'm not moaning for the sake of it at all. The away strip is a white top with a Motherwell badge on it. Even the home top has some claret flashing under the arm - why not have something like this on the away top to make it unique to us? Previous white away tops all had some claret or amber in them and I was hoping the same would be true this time.
  19. My problem with the away top is what makes it unique to Motherwell FC? Apart from our badge there is nothing which distinguishes it from any other team who wear white. I like white but I was hoping for some claret and amber flashing somewhere to make it "ours." I appreciate there is a small claret border around the neck but I like to see strips that are clearly ours without having to read the badge. The home strip fits the bill so that will be the one for me.

    Hearts

Thought Steve Jennings ran the midfield ably assisted by Giles so Jenno gets my vote.
  21. Totally agree. We need The Duke for the likes of Dundee United and Hearts and I just hope he has not aggravated his injury that will keep him out for these games.
  22. I said 5th place at least. Nobody would be happier than me if we caught Hibs but given our level of performance in the last 2 games I'm less optimistic about 4th place than I was a few weeks ago.
  23. Sadly we have few players who are capable of performing well eack week. If we did they would be performing at a higher level than Motherwell. Take JoB for example. In recent weeks he has been tearing defences apart but against DundeeU and Falkirk it just wasn't happening for him. I'm sure he will recover his form soon because just as good runs don't last forever neither do bad runs. The fact we went 12 games unbeaten is remarkable but it was never going to last and the inevitable dip in form has happened. We just need to hope that we come out of it in time to cement 5th place at least and then look forward to Europe.
  24. Huge credit to Jim Gannon and the club for communicating to the fans via the official website and not through the press.
  25. I was in the POD yesterday also and was appalled to hear their chant about hating the Tartan Army. I expect some of them were actually part of the Tartan Army when we played Macedonia and Holland so why they sing songs against their own country is beyond me. At least it made a pleasant change before they went back to their usual sectarian outbursts!!
