  1. Can we rely on the sell a player model forever without investment?. Personally I don't think so. If anything we have been extremely lucky to have a few players coming through the academy that we can sell off, unfortunately we are seeing recently a few signing for bigger clubs before we can cash in on them.

I don't think the Well society can sustain the club at its current level and probably not if we were in a league lower with the lack of premier league gates and revenue.

I honestly don't know what the answer is however I don't think we can continue the way we are we can't go into every season with our fingers x that we don't get relegated and a player plays well enough to sell on.

Finances are yo-yoing no matter how you try to spin them.

The most recent club accounts list our assets at £8 million so that's the minimum but it's obviously more than that due to our status as a top flight club and potential for player sales.

It's worth remembering that the Americans don't actually intend to buy any shares. The proposal seems to be that the club will issue new shares that are given to the Americans in return for working capital (which they can later withdraw at will).

    So you don't actually know

    What bigotry?

Kettlewell and Halliday are both big Rangers fans. Halliday and Greg Stewart were joking about singing Loyalist songs on a podcast a couple of weeks ago.

In you sad life it probably isn't but the vast majority live in the 21st Century and not the 18th where you clearly still lurk. Your prejudice is clear.

Halliday didn't even get subbed after throwing up on the park. He is some nick for a 32 year old that allegedly trains every day.

The club needs to develop and sell Lennon Miller and Kettlewell is letting him sit on the bench

wow those are shameful comments about our own player with absolutely no basis other than your shameful bigotry

That's a good way of avoiding saying it's hard to make a functioning team out of the squad we've assembled.

It's not avoiding saying anything at all. Unlike others I have no interest in getting involved in debates. You asked a question, I replied. That's as far as I go take from it what you will or don't. Couldn't care less.

I suggested signing Devine 3 weeks ago but I don't understand why we have brought him in when we have plenty of cover there and are apparently short of money.

I think McGinn and O'Donnell will be playing central defence from now on and the new guys will be bursting lungs up and down their respective sides.

    Exactly.

When I see people saying Maguire isn't the level we want from someone coming off the bench to help us see out games, I wonder exactly what kind of player those people think is willing to come to Motherwell to play that role.

Not every squad member can be or has to be, an up-and-coming player pushing for the first team.

If I was Kettlewell I'd sit down with the player and make it clear to him what his role at the club will be. A bench player who starts games when we're short of first-choice midfielders, but mainly someone who can come on with 20 minutes or so to go and help us see out a game.

If he's happy with that role, I'd keep him around unless he's on first 11 wages. Again, we need guys like that. He's of the standard that a player fulfilling that role at a club like ours should be.

Also, if the worst happens and we end up going down he's already got a Championship winners medal in his pocket, so he'll come in handy.

Nope not for me. Has been given so many chances to prove his worth and has failed miserably to take any of them hence being out on loan. Sooner he is off the wage bill the better.

It can work in terms of being competitive in the division and the club not going to the wall.

Fans however need to manage their expectations.  Just think about your own bills and then imagine you were running flood lights and undersoil heating on top of that and you might get an inkling.

We are 8th right now and as close to 5th as 12th.

That seems well within reasonable expectations.

Of course that might change and if we continue to not get 3 points it will definitely change but right now we need to hold steady and support the players and management.

We are not running our under soil heating. We are using the covers.

  9. There is absolutely no way Kettlewell will get sacked. Reason..we have no money whatsoever to pay him and his assistant off.  The we look at a wage for the new guy and his assistant and it wont be the same that Kettlewell is on. Then we need to offer the new guy something in the transfer window to change things around. We just don't have the cash. Christ we cant afford to put the underground heating on in the middle of winter.
