Aye I'd be starting Ainsworth in this. I suspect he'll be getting released either way but an on form Lionel really can make the difference in games like this. I'm a big fan of Cadden and he's been deservedly our first choice in that position for the last year- but he's somewhat of a one trick pony and it's just not coming off for him right now at right wing. I don't have the stats to hand but Ainsworth has scored 3 times as many goals this season in I'd guess less than half the game time? He's inconsistent, frustrating and probably away in the summer but he's scored and assisted countless absolutely massive goals for us.
Now I've said all this he'll probably do nothing and get hooked after 45 minutes.
Edit- just realised this isn't the Partick Thistle thread tbh
Lucas could have made a difference imo. He's inconsistent and injury prone but also our most creative midfielder when it comes to picking passes going forward. I assume one of his legs fell off in training though.
I'm more one to obsess over the game beforehand. I can spend the whole week daydreaming/panicking about Saturday but I'm over the result about five minutes after the final whistle.
For all the talk of our awful NDP record etc, we've actually got a bit of a hold over Accies in recent derbies- unbeaten in 4 games stretching back over a year and a half. You could possibly look at that as them being due a result against us but I think we should be winning this. Accies are a pretty horrendous side and haven't won away all season. Even their recent victories came from a total fluke against Aberdeen and a last minute winner against a self destructing St Johnstone side. Not that we're much better mind but there's no excuses for not picking up 3 points here.
On a serious note, I didn't realise we were only 3 points off Dundee and with a game in hand after last night. Apart from the Rangers victory and our utterly shambolic display against them, Dundee have been horrendous all year. Definitely catchable.
I wouldn't be against having a look at Devlin if Accies go down. Depending on how well McManus recovers we could be looking for at least two centrebacks in the summer.
