  1. Had we got Celtic in the final Id have been more confident than any other time we faced them in a final. Celtic are a shadow of the team the were and were fortunate to beat a 10 man Rangers team. Sure they will be favourites against St Mirren but St Mirren will not face a weaker Celtic team ever again.
  2. I think they stand a decent chance to beat Celtic , Celtic are a shadow of the team theyve been in recent years.
  3. Yes and No. However the kinda of fuck up we did against a very average St Mirren side (enough of this tactical genius pish by Robinson,) we did against Hearts, Celtic, Kilmarnock and Falkirk. We gift goals like its going out of fashion. I fancy us to beat ourselves again on Saturday.
  4. You also forget even at our worst in the first half their keeper had to bring off a great save and Manwanhise fluffed an effort that should have been a goal. There is a lot of nonsense talked about St Mirren yesterday, plus they got the breaks. They basically just did their job effectively. They did nothing that we shouldn't have been able to deal with had our players turned up, there was no tactical masterclass. Virtually everyone of our player was posted missing or at best underperformed. Even as bad as we were we could have had them sweating but for a comedy of errors straight after we scored. On another day we'd take St Mirren, yesterday just wasn't our day. We forget it and move on.
  5. I doubt very much if JBA will get us a cup win or playing regularly in Europe. I suspect playing decent football , developing good players , increasing attendances and keeping the prospect of relegation at bay and decent cup runs will be as far as it goes and I'm happy with that. If JBA is successful in all of that he won't be with us long enough to take it further. It's the curse of the smaller clubs . If your successful that success is taken from you.
  6. There is so much bollocks being talked about tactics, formations, tactical genius blah blah blah. The simple reality is every one one of our players under performed from what we know they can. Every St Mirren player played to their potential. Play that game another day its a different result. St Mirren got the break of the crucial refereeing decision that settled them down to get them ahead. Even in the first half when we were at our poorest their keeper brings of a great save and manwanhise fluffs a great chance. We were really poor but the "excellent" St Mirren performance very nearly derailed. Had we not given away a comedy goal straight after we equalise I think St Mirren could have been rocking. Yesterday was a very fine margin despite how we underperformed.
  7. And why put fans to the expense of going to Edinburgh which would take a few thousand of the crowd when Hampden is right between Paisley and Motherwell.
  8. Apologies I wasn't meaning to have a go at you in particular. I just get fed hearing people talk about how it looks on TV. We are a small country and we have empty spaces in football grounds, it's normal.
  9. Why do people obsess what it looks like in TV, who gives a fuck about those watching on TV. They are putting fuck all into the fixture.
  10. I don't want them in any cup. We list our last 6 /7 Cup ties against them ,, 😚
  11. But there is no stadium other than Hampden , Ibrox and Celtic Park could have accommodated that attendance yesterday. Mind you if we get to another semi final our ticket sales might not be so good. I'm sure some fans are starting to question why they bother at semi finals, the die hards will be there but persuading the floating supporter will be harder based on our recent piss poor efforts. Right at this moment, I myself, question why I bother and couldn't care less if I never saw them again I'm so annoyed at yesterdays garbage against a very beatable team. However I do know that wont last. I'm glad our next game is away at Aberdeen cos I'm not interested in going. Be interesting to see what carry over this has to our improved attendances for the next home game. I think it will have some effect.
  12. I found the attendance a strange one. We sold 9000 tickets and St Mirren sold similar so where did the other 3337 come from?
  13. That's why I think we should have tried to keep Armstrong.
  14. A bit, more than a bit, we were garbage but St Mirren were an average team that played to their strengths. They were still the better team and were clinical and defended well. That's the killer, we wouldn't need to have been top notch to take them, semi competent would have been enough. They had 4 shots a goal and scored all 4 we had 4 shots at goal and got 1. They took the gifts we presented to them. That's not a hard gig in football.
  15. I'd add a left back to that too. In essence pretty much a new defence.
