  1. All those years dragging ourselves all over the country in the wind, snow and rain to watch some truly dire football, to watch us being relegated and fight our way back up. To be written off as just a customer. Fucking unbelievable. Hail, the retards, for they have truly taken over the internet.
  2. Staggering post. Puts me in mind of the old saying - “Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.”
  3. I agree with your assessment .
  4. Stupid post of the day - the club is moving towards fan ownership. We are entitled to know if the club is being stewarded properly, or if we lost out on a £240,000 development fee due to a managerial failure to comply with football regulations.
  5. Add to that mix, we budgeted for no transfer income and yet we have sold Pearson, we're due a development fee for Ben Hall, and we still don't have clarity on the Robbiie Leitch development fee? ( maybe I've missed it ). Something isn't adding up. ......................................................... Anyway, it's not all over, still time for movement.
  6. This is a high risk squad at the moment.
  7. I'm glad you lot ain't my estate agent. ffs
  8. Interesting, thanks.
  9. Defo not playing? I'd be surprised if he wasn't on the pitch at some point.
  10. I find it fascinating the amount of people on this board the have myopia when it comes to our senior players. You'd think that season 2014/2015 never happened. And you'd think that 2015/2016 through until February hadn't happened either. Way too many of our senior players put in a series of dire, disgraceful performances - the best compliment delivered to Josh Law was that he was the only player that didn't hide during the worst of the Baraclough reign. By dint, our senior players went missing in action for months. That seven in nine performance at the end of season was magic to behold, but I fear we are kidding ourselves that the serious, endemic problems in the team have been solved by re-signing the senior players that led us to the verge of relegation once, and fearing it at the start of this year.
  11. I don't know - all I can say for a fact is that he was talking about going to Rotherham with Stubbs. @CrosshillWell, I know he has signed a new deal and the first thing I did was look at the timeline between his deal and the announcement of Stubbs signing for Rotherham. The timeline is close - we'll never know what conversations were going on between McManus and Stubbs at the end of May unless one of them spills the beans.
  12. Who else do you think Robinson will take to Oldham? With a bit of luck he'll take McManus, who was talking about going to Rotherham with Stubbs recently.
  13. Missed that acknowledgement, apologies.
  14. You'd think it would be within the wit of the club to clarify the Law situation. Then again, they still haven't noticed that Robbie Leitch signed for Burnley.
  15. it has been a summer of reneging so far. Just sayin'
  16. They're just bounce games, who cares about so-called results. Maybe the club should do itself a favour in future and play them as MFC Athletic or something, don't even put the club name to it. The received wisdom on this board is that McGhee knows what he's doing during pre-season, that doesn't stop some idiots yapping like chihuahuas on heat about how "we should be winning these games." Really? we finished the match on Sunday with an under-19 team, including a 15 year old. That should tell you how seriously McGhee takes getting results in these matches. Even the fact that he played a trialist last night should have been a big clue. Sunday v Hibs is the closest we'll get to a genuine first team pre-season match, and I'm not bothered about that result either. Monday morning will see the team focused on Rangers and Rangers alone, and if McGhee starts talking about how we won't be ready for that game next week, he's pulling chains. The season starts on 16 July, Motherwell V Rangers - bring it on.
  17. “I thought Richard Tait was excellent, really no problems with him. I think anyone that was here tonight would’ve seen a good replacement for Josh Law and seen a good player.” http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2016/07/05/mcghee-some-positives-despite-loss/ Looks a bit vague to me.
  18. Good to see someone renege in our favour
  19. http://www.plymouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=444494 Just how important is Carl McHugh to Plymouth Argyle? The statistics for league games show that the defensive midfielder has been a crucial player for Argyle this season and when he's absent through injury the team do not win many points. At the start of the season the 23-year old Irishman was converted from a centre-back to a defensive midfielder by manager Derek Adams, a move that surprised many fans. However, McHugh's performances in front of the defence have been vital this season as Argyle aim for promotion. His sweeping, tackling, closing down and passing protects the back four and is a springboard for the more creative players in the team like Gregg Wylde and Graham Carey. McHugh's latest injury meant that he missed the 3-2 defeat against Dagenham on Saturday but surely if he had played he would have been patrolling in front of the back four and stopped Matt Cash from waltzing through to score the second goal for the Daggers. McHugh has played in 36 leagues games this season, missing eight games because of injury, the stats show that with McHugh playing the team has won 69 points with a record of 21 wins, six draws and nine defeats with an average of 1.92 points per game. With McHugh absent for eight games the team has struggled, winning two games, drawing two and losing four, at an average of just one point per game. There are many factors to consider, especially the performances of other players but in simple terms the stats show that McHugh is worth an average of 0.92 points per game, in other words if McHugh had played the full 44 games his presence would have added seven points to Argyle's total and put the Greens in second place in League Two on 84 points and within touching distance of automatic promotion. There have been injuries to other key players over the season, most notably Graham Carey, Reuben Reid and Ryan Brunt but it does seem that the absence of McHugh for eight games has defined Argyle's season. 20. "Why could you not qualify from a group including Rangers, Stranraer, Annan Athletic and East Stirlingshire?" I think it would be a fair question.
  21. i am aware the group stages are the first round, and we have landed a bonus ball game having Rangers in our group. The club have made it clear we are skint, so we should be thankful for the money from that game. As you know they've stated that the club has budgeted for tenth place and going out in the first round of the cups. I also agree that we should go for the jugular. Beating Rangers and qualifying top of the group would be a lovely start to the season. Problem is, we have clowns here that think the manager shouldn't be answerable for non-qualification from this group. I find that laughable, and it only confirms my long held belief that some Motherwell fans are not happy until they are unhappy.
  22. Agreed - and even more important that we get out of the group as the club have stated we have budgeted to finish tenth and go out in the first round of the cups. And yet, we have supporters that "won't question," a failure to get out of this group. ffs.
  23. Mail on Sunday has Rodgers saying that many Celtic midfield players have been told they are free to find other clubs. I'd imagine that Liam Henderson and Scott Allan are among them. However, I'd be shocked and delighted if we landed either. McGhee has managed to resign all the geriatrics he loves so dearly, my only hope is that our new midfielder is under forty. Under thirty would be good. We can only live in hope.
