  1. I’d say it’s been a very positive window with a real uplift in quality from recent years. Yes ……… some issues to resolve and improve around goal-scoring, goal keeping and central defence. Let’s see what JBA can do over the next month or so before starting work on the gallows! Think the guy has been a breath of fresh air so far …………….. and remember, for those getting jittery about LB cover, I have only 2 words of comfort …………. Anthony Straker!
  2. What a truly sad, sad individual you really are. Someone who gets more pleasure from results not going our way and your typically miserable, doom laden predictions being correct/ partly right. Oh - and spare me the ‘it’s a forum for all views’. Yes it is ……… but proper fans would never get off on things not going to plan. This is the last time I’ll ever pay attention to your nonsense as I think you’re probably not even a Well fan, or if you are- not one worthy of the title. Bye!
  3. Don’t disagree with that at all and provided JBA can get the players he wants with the budget available to him it could be great. Hopefully those ‘comfortable on the ball’ players with big engines and balls of steel fall in our range - but defo excited to see what he can do.
  4. Agree 100%. As you say, I think Wimmer clocked really quickly what resources he had available and was savvy enough to adapt and find a way to get us over the line pretty comfortably. Concern would be that JBA isn’t prepared to shift (much or at all) on his principles (a bit like a certain Russell Martin at Southampton- yes, yes, different league etc. but similar issue) despite the personnel available - then it could be tough for everyone! But ………… gotta trust the guy, have faith, strap in for what could be a very interesting season ahead.
  5. That would be nearly, but not quite, as depressing as another season of your fun-filled posts of positivity.
  6. Wind forward to 14 Sept 2019 @ 5.00pm and read the above. Lessons to be learned for some on here I think. Not saying there won't be more tough times ahead/blips on the road but Orinoco's got it spot on. Back our players, give them confidence and I'm sure this current group will deliver more good times than bad, with some pretty attractive football thrown in too. Biggest issue this year will be holding on to Robbo.
  7. Excellent, objective factual summary. Yes, we could throw up issues like quality of ‘football’ during large parts of the campaigns... but.... overall, I wonder how many of us on here would (honestly) have turned down what you’ve summarised if it was offered up at the start of season ‘17 - 18’.
  8. ‘too’ long - as have you it seems! Stay out a bit longer and you might even manage a positive post.
