  1. ...because hes more highly rated, I believe
  2. I was one of the 'ones in the know', who has said he was a certainty to sign...even just listening to the boy in interviews gave that type of impression. I had it on very good authority that the lad, and his parents, felt that signing a two-year contract at Fir Park was their favoured course of action. What seemed to transpire though, is that, with Motherwell knowing there was interest in the player from half-a-dozen clubs, they offered him more than his current deal but less than what Turnbull and James Scott agreed to. Why would Motherwell do that, knowing that players talk to one another? Are they happy to take the development fee, for a player who has hit a purple patch over the past TWO MONTHS? There are one or two other details of whats been going on, that lead me to believe that Motherwell don't rate him as much as some of the interested parties...I'm pretty certain our Club, know what they are doing with the player in that regard. I'd continue to play the boy until he signs on the dotted line with another club...which he hasn't done yet.
  3. I think thats far too simplistic to be honest.
  4. The Champions League final hasnt been played in Moscow since 2008...a plastic pitch was ripped up and a grass one put down specifically for that match
  5. McCann was absolutely slavering over Turnbull on the radio, said hes been watching lots of Motherwell youth games over the past few years and while Watson, Brown, Campbell, Hastie, Scott (thats the players he mentioned) were all real talents, he said Turnbull was the real deal...'what a player' was how he described him.
  6. You've nae idea what we are paying Sammon... ...the cup was a disaster without a doubt, he underestimated our opponents. Rossco needs minutes on the park otherwise it was pointless us bringing the guy in. We are bottom six dross mate, we have been beating our peers for the last 5 matches, if we get beat against Hearts, Killie and Celtic, no one will be surprised at all.
  7. C'mon tae fuck Steelboy, every manager makes a mess of a transfer every now and again. For all we know, Hearts said, 'do you want Connor Sammon on loan for £100 a week'? Absolutely no risk attached to the signing and we cut him loose at the end of the season. I'd be more inclined to question, why we signed Bigirimana and then choose to lump the ball over his head whenever he played.
  8. I've said elsewhere on social media, that the current style of play is great and coupled with a winning run, you have to give the management team a pat on the back and congratulate them. However, to suggest that Robinson didn't deserve the criticism he was getting, is utterly mental. For the previous 12months or so, prior to this month, we have been utter dugshite, in results and performances. We persisted with a formation that clearly didn't work anymore, a tactic of shelling long balls at folk who struggled to time a jump and continued to play players who weren't performing. At the moment, I'm liking what I see, however as recently as December I was sick to the back teeth of watching the same match every single week, and it became a chore, without a shadow of a doubt. These youngsters that we've brought in, are playing without fear, they are eager to impress and the likes of Gorrin and Main, look like they are thriving playing alongside them. I know its easy to say in hindsight, but why weren't these boys really involved sooner?
  9. I've been saying for weeks that Turnbull reminds me of McAllister...a midfielder that just looks so composed on the ball, rarely flustered, always forward thinking and as others have said, he looks like he has so much more time on the ball than he actually does. We really could have a cracker on our hands here.
  10. So many options, but I was very impressed with Richard Tait (again), hes my vote for Player of The Year and had Ryan Gauld in his back pocket for the whole of the 1st half, before Gauld was moved infield
  11. I never made Saturdays match, so won't try and make any sort of comparison with it. However, last nights performance was entertaining and gritty. Much like Turnbull, I'm surprised its taken so long for us to get Hastie into our line-up...he offered drive, enthusiasm, a balance to the team and an absolutely fantastic throughball for our goal. The biggest compliment that I can give to last nights starting 11, is that picking a man of the match is extremely difficult, and for the right reasons. Both full-backs were excellent, with Tait absolutely owning Ryan Gauld in the 1st half. Gorrin (in one 90mins), has gone from a player I've literally known nothing about to a player on that evidence that looks like he has the composure AND the tenacity to be a decent player at our level...while wee Campbell, was back to his best, virtually clubbing their 6footplus monster (Barkley) to death at certain points of the game. Both wingers, were excellent to watch...yes, its not going to come off everytime for them, but in terms of getting you off your seat, and actually enjoying what you are seeing, Ariyibi and Hastie were great. Main, tried like fuck, ran himself into the ground, but hes never going to score the goals we need, and if we continue with one up top supported by three attacking mids, we need a striker who can a) hold the ball up and b) take a chance or two...I don't think Main is the man for us unfortunately.
  12. Imrie doesn't even like his maw...probably because she is a mattress
  13. I've watched plenty of it, and its chronic. Lifestyle, I'll most certainly give you
  14. I've felt like that for almost two season now...the entertainment factor watching Motherwell is almost at ground zero
  15. I'm not 100% sure on this, but is our average pay a direct reflection of the fucking size of our bloated squad? I don't believe for a second that we have a lower wage bill than Hamilton Accies for a kick-off...
  16. What an argument this is...was/is Samson pish? For us, I would say most definitely...in fact ask anyone thats not associated with St Mirren and you're likely to get the same answer. Is he a better goalkeeper than me? Aye...so I suppose you're right, he's better in goals than most folk
  17. Thats what worried me about the 'get the 3-5 fuckin2, in the bin patter'...there is nothing fundamentally wrong when playing 3-5-2, just like there is nothing fundamentally wrong with playing a 4-4-2 without any width...the two things that need to be taken into consideration when setting up a team is, a) do I have the players that are capable of the formation I want to play and b) what are the opposition playing and where can they hurt us if we play this formation. If our manager had any tactical ability, he'd have packed our midfield and supported a loan striker from out wide yesterday.
  18. Of course his right arm was in a natural position...try a slide tackle out your back garden with your hands in your pockets. McHugh is getting slaughtered for his part in proceedings yesterday, but in my opinion he was extremely unlucky to get a 2nd booking for that
  19. why would you not mind losing to Celtic? As for your rampage against McHugh...going to wind it in? There is no way on Earth that he deliberately handled that ball
