The lad will need to have thick skin , not played a game and he’s getting pelters already.....pretty sure his auld man wouldn’t put him in the firing line just for the hell of it

They can be found everywhere at the moment. Social media, primarily. They're usually found with little banners on their profile pictures, and using NHS hashtags.

To be clear, I'm not downplaying the effects of the virus, or saying we shouldn't be concerned about our loved ones. Again, this is what I'm talking about when I mean the "either/or" approach.

Unless you're using a banner, hashtags, and focusing on one aspect of the discussion you're seen as opposing this part of it.

It's like the other day on here, I dared to mention the Swedish approach. No one knows if that kind of tactic will work long-term, but it's another way of going about things. Another option. No sooner had I mentioned it than someone replied with some pish talking about injecting bleach. It was assumed that by not taking the "stay indoors, save lives" approach that I was vehemently against it. I'm not, I'm just looking at other options and ways other nations are dealing with the situation.

We need to look at all facets of the situation. Like it or not, the economy matters. The effects of a depression of this magnitude is well documented from the 30's. At some point the furlough money is going to run out. We can't keep paying out that kind of dough while there isn't enough businesses paying taxes to support it. It's not going to work.

So we need to move on from only looking at one aspect of the situation and start taking into account that measures need to be taken, in the safest way possible, to get things moving again. No approach is ever going to be completely safe. We'll never get to that stage.

It's the same with football. If we're looking for a safety level akin to that which was enjoyed before this all happened then we'd be as well packing it in, and shutting clubs down entirely for a few years.

Wouldn’t want to be in any of the leaders shoes at the minute but The Scot Gov and the UK gov, in particular won’t be the gold standard in terms of dealing with a pandemic.

There is going to be major collateral damage from this, some of it may have already  surfaced but when people are being laid off , left right and centre , after employers have to pay half the furlough , it will begin to bite.

The lockdown approach can’t continue indefinitely.

There are many ways to pay for your season ticket.

If you can, you can pay in full now by visiting tickets.motherwellfc.co.uk. If you’ve never logged in to the website before, follow this guide if you are an existing season ticket holder. If you’re buying new, please create a new account.

Alternatively, you can buy over the phone by calling 01698 338002. Please be patient, as we have limited telephone sales capacity at this time.

You can also email tickets@motherwellfc.co.uk and ask us to call you back.

    PAY BY STANDING ORDER

You can pay for your season ticket in four instalments from May to August by using our standing order facility. Forms are available here, or you can call 01698 333333 and we will get you set up. If you’re filling out a form, you can scan it and email it to tickets@motherwellfc.co.uk or post it to the club.

Please note that standing orders are only available on our full season ticket prices, and can not be used for our early bird rate.

    FINANCE

As usual, we will be offering a finance option on season tickets to spread your cost over a longer period of time.

We will announce shortly how to apply for finance. Details will be available at motherwellfc.co.uk.

    Thanks

It's been fun watching the retro 90's rules where you can pass the ball back for the keeper to pick up and assault the keeper in mid-air without getting a foul against you.

Clark was solid and didn’t hold back and obviously did Maxi a lot of harm, but I don’t think there was any malicious intent there....prob a foul tho....all worked out in the end

  6. Posed the question to some mates  last night ( remotely of course) ....Did they think the standard in general was better, same or worse than now......the ones who got back to me thought we played more football on deck now.....I tend to agree , after watching again last night, surprised how many long balls were played. Not complaining mind you.

i thought the standout players for both teams were Phil for us and John ONeil for them, wonder why he never went further.

So everyone, say, over 60 who has followed MFC all their lives doesn't count just so you can see your game regardless of them? Fuck off you selfish cunt.

Usually no fan of the steel boy, but that’s helluva harsh.....it’s ok saying extend the season if there’s an opportunity but that’s going to have a knock on effect. Plus no vulnerable person would put their health at risk for a football match

With the best will in the world, if we do finish third, we will be arguably one of the weakest sides in recent times to do so.

We have a plethora of wingers/forwards which are utter dross. None of Illic, Seedorf, Manzinga, Ndjoli, Aarons or Hylton will go down in folklore as being anything like top class players. They are mostly jobbers, whereby six small salaries could arguably be condensed into 3 decent salaries and a higher calibre of player (a tactic that I along with others have been calling for). Watt is likely to move on as will Long. The later has been exceptional in the past couple of matches however has been a frustrating figure and questionably does not score enough goals for the amount of opportunities that his pace presents. We are probably looking at a completely new forward line for next season which wouldn't be a disaster.

In midfield, we will need to strengthen. Turnbull will be gone and Polworth has blown hot and cold all season and needs competion. O'Hara could however be worth offering a contract to. We need a new right back as Grimshaw still can't defend over 90 minutes and Tait's legs sadly look to be gone. A new centre half would also be welcome as well as a new goalkeeper given that Gillespie will be away.

It will yet again be a busy summer rather through necessity than design, particularly when it comes to forwards.

And we should be one of the strongest sides to finish third with the money we spend??

Disagree with you re Aarons  and Hilton , both made decent contributions and a couple of the others quoted haven’t had enough of a chance. Polworth mostly has been different class.

Just enjoy the moment , it could be a relegation dog fight next year....who knows

What you like when things aren’t going well?

Mentioned that previously and you could also throw Aberdeen in there too who play 4-3-3 sometimes.  I think the problems are bigger than one thing so its not a case of changing formation and everything will be fine again, last night proved that, but I do think if you play the same formation week in, week out against teams 3, 4, 5 times a season you are going to get found out and that highlights one of Robinson's biggest flaws - his lack of a plan B.  You can see it in us as regards formation and you can see it in the players he's brought to the club.  He doesn't have the foresight or vision to see that we might need to change things until we are deep in a hole.  His changes have come from desperation not from cool judgement.

I do think the players have to have a look at themselves.  Tait saying after the match "They wanted it more" really irked me.  Robinson also mentioned that he'd screamed at the players plenty times but would have to start trying to build confidence.  I just don't think it's a happy camp right now and that our plunge in form, the word 'drop' doesn't cover it, since Robinson's arrest went public can't just be dismissed as a coincidence.

Think you’re adding two and two and making five

Do you honestly think players are bothered if their manager has been lifted on a day out . They are playing for win bonuses, their next move , maybe even professional pride. Admittedly it’s not coming together at minute.

On the whole Robbo has done a good job, if we end up sixth at end of season , then we can judge them all but let’s give them a chance to dig themselves out of it

From my perspective Polworth and Campbell are shadows of the players they were earlier in season and Long can’t get himself a long enough run in the team for one reason or another.

I didn’t know we were charging £30 for some fixtures...take it it’s Old firm , who else?

Thats excesssive imo. If people are taking families , it’s hard to justify, don’t know what they charge for kids?

i went yesterday but it wasnt  enjoyable, would have helped if we kept 11 players on pitch....Maybe Chris Long needs to think about the punters spending their money in the freezing cold , before throwing toys out of the pram

Sonetimes have sympathy for players getting sent off for two hard tackles etc but looked like he couldn’t wait to get off.

£25 to watch football on a plastic pitch isn’t on.

Going to contradict myself a bit here, Posted this before I saw highlights , although was at game.

It did look a booking from stand. After viewing second booking on highlights, was it really that bad?

Maybe could say don’t go in for those tackles when on a booking but if he’s not tackling he’s going to be accused of not trying.Long does come across as a bit Petulant  at times , so that doesn’t help . Also the fact it was in front of Hamilton dug out. Stupid first booking though.

Each to their own, but I personally dont get the upset about the £25 entry fee. It isn't really much more than any other away fixture.

Yes, I disagree with the notion that they are charging us more when they should be trying to get as many bums on seats as possible for the derby.... but for comparison, we are charging away fans £24 for a category B fixture!! And £30 for a category A.

Is it the shitty pitch, the fact its accies, or the fact it's considered a category A fixture?

Not meaning to come across as condescending or anything - football is overpriced. But all things considered just not getting what the fuss is about.

How much is a televised game worth to the club?

    Hopefully a good bit .

That’s a terrible kick off time especially for anybody travelling , especially Aberdeen or Kilmarnock, imagine it will take the atmosphere out of Fir Park  that night

Personally I had tickets for a concert that night , in general though Saturday nights are not great for live football.

  14. It’s been a great season so far but don’t think you will see a goal conceded like yesterday in any league in Scotland this weekend , even amateur football. Jake Carrol looked like he was doing what ATS used to do and switching off at back post, but the ball should never have bounced in first place

Scott wouldn’t have made any difference to that defensive set up .

The ironic part is , if they’d defended that throw in better , they might even have sneaked a draw...mostly down to Gillespie.

Lazy, unhappy poster. A luxury the forum can't afford. Offload in the transfer window. May find his level at Accies.

Could argue every forum needs a yodo , a bit limited but can do the spadework but you couldn’t have a forum full of yodos or you’re in relegation bother

That's one of the problems against a SUPPOSEDLY "big" club (Hibs are supposedly a big club). The attention was all on them and their sparkling new manager - a guy who was shown through the door marked "Do One" by Sunderland, ffs - with no mention of a reasonable performance by the opposition. We edged them on possession (51%) though it felt like more, but our 10 corners to their one shows where we let ourselves down.

It's just like watching Arsenal. That's the scary thing.

Very unfair assessment of Ross....few StMirren fans I know really rate him....His Sunderland record wasn’t too bad , he might have still got them up
