Let the happy clappers defend that performance personally I can't wait to read some of them on here . Said a while back he was taking the club to new depths and his time was up . There were no tactics today none what so ever hoof ball all over the place ,why we took Tait off I'll never know and how Grimshaw stayed on the park is beyond me . When you think you can pick and choose the games you are going to try to win then you are in deep trouble . This is the worst squad I have ever seen at Fir Park in fifty odd year of watching the team ,so cmon Allan Burrows get this clown out our club tonight

I probably would be in the happy clapper camp but it's hard to say anything positive about that today.... We didn't look like scoring, there was no spark.

If we are struggling because of the debt, there should be some kind of statement from the club, then people may get behind the cause more.

Don't agree it's the worst squad in the last 50 years, it's probably not even the worst in the last 20.

Remember we've been relegated once and stayed down for about 4 years and escaped relegation on technicalities twice....

Some real roasters on here. The usual suspects have driven me away from this site and I rarely look at match threads now.

There would be one player in that Celtic side last night who this week has earned DOUBLE the total amount of our whole starting eleven last night.

I get the feeling that some on here were not celebrating our equaliser as they realised Robinson was safe in his job for another week.

The melt down at Sammon being in from the start was laughable. He can’t play on Saturday against Hearts so it made sense to play him last night and in the second half he did well. Its called forward planning and using your whole squad.

We have real injury problems and his hands are tied. We had four different back fours during the game and yet were so organised that our keeper had one save and that was the penalty. We had ten men on the park when we lost the goal and it came down our right where Donnelly would have been.

There is criticism of what he said about Donnelly and Livingston’s fitness levels. The rest of the team looked very fit. I' m sure he planned to get a couple of Rose, Gorrin, or Bigi on in the second half as it is energy sapping chasing without the ball for long periods but Campbell, Rose, Turnbull and Grimshaw all lasted really well.

Then we have the charge that he does not encourage youth. Many said Turnbull should have been in the team long before he was but in interviews his under 20 manager Craigen said he needed to increase his fitness and physical presence. He came back in the summer ready to step up and you could argue that Robinson introduced him exactly when he was ready – not before.

The charge of not introducing young players should now be put to bed after Livingston’s performance last night. The Football Manager experts on here were desperate for him to get in the team. To go off knackered with cramp after less than an hour on the park shows that he is not ready. I just hope he has not had so bad an experience that his development has been set back months which can happen to young players.

Rant over but while Robinson has his faults be careful what you wish. Owen Coyle anyone?

Great post......The "rosters" probably are very much in the minority but it sometimes seems they dominate on here.....Had We not got a point the other night they would be out in force just now ....Coyw

Bigi has already been made the fall guy this season and after robinsons comments after the livi game,i wouldn't be surprised if he's in for another spell on the bench.for a manager too say he's had to put to many footballers into the team is a ridiculous comment to make, that along with the back to the basics pish that we keep hearing.i hope we get shot of him sooner rather than later.

Football is also about tracking runners, you can be silky and work hard, they aren't mutually exclusive

I've always felt the sell model simply doesn't build a competitive team, and in looking for the gem you end up with a team like this where decent players like Cadden and Campbell are abused trying to get a spark in a bog.  I don't remember a team as bad as what we have now. It's also strange that with the success of Moult and Kipre, that the cupboard was bare last summer, with nobody coming in with any real potential.

If you don't remember a team as bad as this, you don't go too far back......this team actually has Some parallels wth the cup winning team , who the year after were awful and they were shouting for McLean's head , it's the Motherwell way.....

.All that being said , today was very uninspiring.

Surely it’s first and foremost to pay off the debt and move forward from there. I would hope we will then see further investment in the playing squad and a better standard of footballer. Let’s be honest while we carry on signing none league, and lower league players from England we’re relying on a lot of luck because a percentage just won’t make the step up. Looking at who we signed this summer we have hardly pushed the boat out.

Agree with this, the football is a hard watch, but we stayed up a few years ago because of loans from Les etc, now it needs to be paid back. Dundee Utd went down because of this, so we are a step ahead of them.... I don't get this sizeable budget Robbo supposedly had.

Hopefully the powers that be know the full details and don't listen to some fans knee jerk reactions.

I don't think everything is all right.... I would like to see if any of the youth players could improve things... E. G haven't been impressed with Donnelky or Taylor Sinclair.... So could any youth players sit on the bench and come on and make an impact??

Didn’t go to killie last week but that performance today was a continuation of the 2nd half at Tynecastle in the cup.

    - same 352 that doesn’t work with the players we have.

    - hoofball

    - no guile or creativity

    - no leaders on the park

    - no attacking threat whatsoever

    - glaringly office that we are set up not to concede hence never committing players forward.

    - Tait wasted out of position

    - no youth

    - a team that’s actually worse to watch than last years despite all the new signings and an increased wage bill

    - players huffing and puffing on the pitch  and starting to argue with each other more and more

I do believe we have enough with what we’ve got to be safe come April next year but not with Robbo in charge . This is now his Oldham part 2. Time for him to go and someone to take over who can simply man manage and get guys like Tait Campbell Hartley and Cadden playing the way they are capable of playing.

Whoever  has overseen these deals and signings close season along with the increased playing budget also has to have a long hard look at themselves tonight .

We’ve still got time to get out this mess but let’s hope the old pals act doesn’t stand in the  way of what’s best for our club - over to you Mr Burrows et al.

Hopefully for the good of the club that was Robbos last game today

Let's give it till next 2or 3games, I don't particularly enjoy the football but last year, it was effective.... If by end of October, we haven't picked up a few more points......

The thing that worries me is that the club have left it longer that they should have several times in the past, so I don't see this time being any different. It took for protests outside the main stand half way through the game before McGhee got the hook, which was beyond ridiculous that it took for that for the club to take action.

Robinson clearly isn't good enough, as sorry as I am to say that, because he is a likable guy. I would hate for it to take another fan protest before the club take notice, because despite not being good enough, I don't think Robinson deserves that.

I just hope someone at the top is willing to make the tough decisions.

Not sure how we have ever left it too long.... We have stayed in top league since 1985 with one of the lowest budgets... Only other teams with that record... Celtic and Aberdeen... Sometimes after a good season you got to take time out, if you don't have money to spend.... Today was 2 non footballing teams against each other.... Can't blame livi, they have even less resources than ourselves, but they are awful to watch and no team will play much football against them

Our league form last year from November on was relegation form. If it wasn't for a decent start and a dismal county/thistle pairing, we'd have been in real trouble.

We need to be honest and say that despite cup finals, we were not a good side last year, and summer recruitment has made us worse. Let's not even start on tactics. There is next to no football in this side - just poor quality journeymen.

Don't think anyone last year said we were a good side, just good at what we did, hence2 finals

His style of ‘football’ is atrocious to watch and I’m sure was part of the reason why, despite two cup runs, we never managed to capatalise by really building any significant growth to our support despite the finals of last season.

Unlike when we finished 2 nd a few years ago and the support swelled under McCall....

..let's face it Motherwell managers have a pretty short shelf life with some  "supporters " .....Robbo did a great job last year with 2nd lowest budget in the league, let's give the guy some backing.....I still reckon we will be pushing for top 6 when the dust settles.

Thats pretty much it for me.  Our first 11 is weaker than last season (no Kipre or Moult) and we have suffered bad injuries.  Strength in depth is better though. Yes, our team is set up defensively and to get results with that you need a couple of players in midfield with pace and a good striker.  It might mean, for a club like ours, that we need to splash out a bit more than normal to land one.  Our strikers do get a hard time.  We need to wait until the first round of fixtures are complete before we take stock but I don't completely buy the "lack of budget" argument.  Sides like Livingson, Accies and St Johnstone are doing better on similar budgets to ours.

Going back to yesterday's game I see that Hartley has taken some stick for losing his man but for me, the defensive midfield is even more culpable.  We were stting too deep and the Aberdeen player who makes the pass is not put under any pressure by midfielders who stand off, Bigi being but one (not singling out Bigi BTW but he's no defender).   Thats the kind of goal we were losing for years  before Robbo arrived.  Did the players learn nothing from last weekend where Hearts players wouldn't allow us near their box and swarmed like flies around any of our players who had the ball.

The fixtures haven't been kind to us so far but the next few games are going to be crucial.

Sides like livi, St j and Accies didn't make it to 2 Cup finals last year... Pretty sure we will finish above Accies and Livi... Touch and go with St J
