  1. I really struggled - hard to watch . Japan are a well drilled team who have evolved significantly over recent decades . happy that we’ve become spoiled with our approach watching our beloved Well but it equally highlights where nationally we’re not progressing. Don’t get me wrong I’m delighted for Scotland to be at the World Cup and the final qualifying game was incredible but suspect we’ll spend most of the games chasing shadows . Hopefully our club approach can influence the broader game in Scotland , including national team . meanwhile really looking forward to getting back to league action - hope we have a bit of zip on our game and take all 3 pts .
  2. I don’t like that part of his game , never have and don’t see it being holier than now or sanctimonious . there’s plenty of honest pros who don’t dive an feign injury . I’d rather players just got on with it
  3. There’s a series of mistakes that have led to the punishment . Whoever initially thought there was contact was wrong . VAR made a chops of it . This has led to a disproportionate punishment . That being said I have zero sympathy for Slattery , there’s an element to his game thats quite embarrassing and hopefully this helps put and end to his nonsense .
  4. I despise diving/feigning injury . Something we'd do well to get rid of, together with VAR. Dishing on strong punishment like this as many have said is welcomed. That being said there's a way to do it and that's being clear with all clubs that moving forward players will dealt with in xyz manner. Typically this happens at the start of a season. It's zero surprise that it's non OF clubs that first feel the wrath. To do it retrospectively like this with such a severe punishment should be baffling but sadly just another piece of evidence of how badly the game is being run.
  5. I’d bring in 2 new wingbacks . we need cover or an alternative on the left . for right id be thinking an upgrade on what we have . JK picks up lots of niggling injuries that keep him out and SOD simply doesn’t have the engine to get up the park . Sparrow for me isn’t a wing back and not sold he suits our set up , he was far more effective last season . these 2 positions together with CF are for me the weakest part of the team an area we’d be wise to invest in .
  6. Like Hibs , other teams will set up like this against us , those two lines in front on us made it tricky to do anything . id add to that having 4 centralish midfielders didn’t give the right balance . When teams play like this against us we need guys to carry the ball forward . Whether it be wingbacks or others . yesterday we played too many backward passes or then tries the eye of the needle to get through 2 lines straight to JT - it simply won’t work . thankfully we have an incredible manager who I’m sure will adapt the team for Falkirk
  7. Agree re the fullbacks being missed . We had too many players going through the middle . Watt , Pritestman and fadginer is one too many . I also think teams have sussed how to play against us - we’re not able to play through the lines like we did a month or so ago . we will need to adapt and ideally get some of the injured players back .
  8. Thought that was poor - lacked energy and some of our forward play a bit pedestrian . would have liked to give Nicholson some game time - needed more creativity
  9. We’ve been somewhat disjointed in the first half - not sure it’s working with either fadinger or sparrows position . Hoping we can do more in the 2nd half
  10. Slattery is out of contract at end of season and pretty sure he already extended. there's a big IF that im sure will convince players to stick around and thats IF Jens commits to stick around I suspect the majority of the squad would do the same.
  11. I thought there were only 4 spaces and one being reserved for Scottish cup ? Jen’s mentioned Falkirk still being in the cup yesterday when asked about euro which I thought tied back to the old ruling - i could be wrong
  12. Honestly think perspective is being lost by some. We're well on track to be 4th. We got beat today by a better team who played well and have the depth, strength, quality of players to hurt us and they did. It's not because we were poor , or have poor players or have a ref who caused it. Today we came off second best, albeit still competed well with them until the penalty. I do wonder if all the hype and suggestion of winning the league has skewed many perspectives. I don't agree that a bubble has burst - we're too many games into the season to refer to bubbles/lucky streaks. We're a damn good team and on course to be 4th.
  13. Beans for the pie ? oh , 3 points ☺️
  14. Only second to watching the team ☺️ I can remember trying to endure listening to previous managers and found it hard , tedious . I used to think if I struggle with 10 mins what must the players think listening every day at training . shows just how much of a class act this guy is.
  15. We lost our 4th of the league in March - can’t ever recall saying that before . we are building momentum who knows how long it will continue . I’m not overly concerned about the need to bounce back - we lost a game where the opponents took their chances . im assuming we’ll continue to focus on what we do well and we can enjoy the rest of the season . oddly now the pressure is off - no more talk of winning the league - be great to cement 4th spot
