  1. I'm thinking along similar lines. Robinson and his squad for me are more streetwise, been kicking around long enough and more accustomed to these types of big events. I'm a huge fan of our gaffer , squad and everything we're trying to do but I do feel the occasion overwhelmed the team . Fair play to StMirren they executed their plan ruthlessly. Overall it became a non event all too quickly and I just hope we can bounce back and put some results together. It could easily become a tipping point , it's essential that we come through the next few games with wins.
  2. completely agree - if they get booked early on it will send a clear message. I'm really hoping with the size of pitch and quality we have we simply blow them away and keep the ball. They're very direct and very dangerous, suspect we'll need to score 3 to win this one.
  3. A couple of very good wins and a clean sheet which feels important . Time to go to Hampden and get ourselves to a final
  4. Without VAR - we wouldn’t have got the penalty yesterday . it’s far from perfect and last week was poor with Said , yesterday as frustrated as I was I think got it right with both offsides . I’d rather we binned plastic pitches and improved how we use VAR .
  5. A clean sheet would be ideal, tightening up and not being so able to cut through to create a bit more steel aread of the semi. 3 points though would put us ahead of UTD and they're certainly beatable.
  6. Playing just further up made a big difference - delighted with today’s win. I think we look far better with 2 central strikers on the pitch at the same time . With Slattery returning we may well tweak our formation. We were poor today yet had the ball in the net 4 times . Not convinced that 2 should have been chalked off
  7. Get RCC on - we need some something to get behind , it’s dreadful
  8. Me too - my claret and amber specs certainly thought so .
  9. Glad Gordon was taken off - he’s been really poor today welcome back Slattery
  10. We’ve offered nothing on the right hand side - SOD is no longer the wingback we need - we both wingbacks pushing up . we also need 2 central strikers Hendry and Jonny K on for TW and SOD to give us better balance
  11. Giving them the penalty is beyond schoolboy stuff , there was no danger . upfront got today TW has been anonymous , for a striker he needs to get more involved . would like to see more a central partnership up front . Hendry could be a good swap
  12. We’re far too weak at the back . Very average teams able to cut through the defence .
  13. Thank you for taking the time to pull the data and insight together @Ya Bezzer!. I hadn't realised how poor the points tally was v's previous seasons. Shows the impact of draws. Like Mio posted it's the best football we've seen and got a level of faith that we'll pick up wins. It does highlight the need to be a bit more savvy and not go all out attack for the full match, when I listen to the gaffer I've got complete faith that's what he wants as well. Ideally I'd like to see us take the lead and simply keep the ball of the opposition and pick them off a bit more. Today I think is the perfect day for just that.
  14. Agree that we need to win, this is the type of game we always need to win and fingers crossed we do. Personally think some of the criticism is a bit harsh. We're the 4th top scorers in the league and at half time on Saturday we were at that moment 3rd - appreciate it was fleeting but it does highlight the margins. Appreciate we've fluffed our lines at times, some defending has been poor but in the main it's been individual errors rather than poor tactics and that could well be down to the type of player we can afford at our level. I do think the energy expelled in the first half comes back to bite us - a little more judgement needed re when just to keep the ball v's go in all out attack but we're literally less than a handful of games into a new season, new squad, new manager. This is all going to take time. The positive re low expectations is that's often when we surprise ourselves. 3 points please at the weekend chaps, that will do nicely.
  15. Im with you @texanwellfan. Patience required and given how damn good our football has been I've got faith we're making huge leaps forward. Results will come.
