playing 3 up front against the old firm is naive. Noting wrong with getting 10 men behind the ball and frustrating them.

Shame it's not working out for him, can appreciate why he wanted to give something a go, it wen't well at Oxford. Wouldn't be against seeing him return to FP.
-
hopefully this forces us into a back 4. put 4 in midfield - 2 to move forward + 2 to stay back with. Lang/Watt up front.
-
spot on. The international deadline is today but they have until 16th Oct to make domestic transfers.
-
no need to worry folks we have Grimmy, Crawford and Maguire who'll slot into midfield - what's everyone so worried about ?
-
Strange signing - I don't believe we needed any more strikers. A lack of getting the ball to the striker for clear opportunity has been the issue. Hope it works out.

personal view is 3 changes would make huge difference. 1 good mifielder, 1 left back and a 1 centre half. We need balance in our midfield - thats' either a winger who isn't a donkey or a decent holding midfield player to replace Donnelly. Personal view is we should play 4 in midfield , 2 who can stay back whilst 2 move forward. In defence we need a left back who can go up the flanks - Carrol will do fine if fit. I also think we need a centre back, Mugabi (although much improved) gives me the fear and Lamie has been a liability. Why the hell Levante Cole would solve our problems puzzles me - he wasn't winger and we already have 4 strikers. He's not any better than Long/Lang/Watt

I don't believe it's reasonable for our main aim is to stay in the league. Given we've been in the SPL since the mid 80s it's reasonable to expect us to be a mid table team.

Robinson has during his tenure improved the league positions + couple of cup runs + profited from some players he brought in (Kipre, Heneghan etc) He's also benefited and helped the group of very decent youngsters who have come through (Cadden, Scott, Campbell, Turnbull, Haste mk1) Until now we've been progressing well. pre season I had thought we were headed for a great season - it's not panning out that way. Last year is impossible to improve as we'd no right to be in top 3. Anything from 8th-4th is where I expect us to be. What's not clear at the moment is the direction, what type of football/formation are we trying to embed ? do we have more youngsters coming through ? It may just be a wobble , I hope it is but clear direction and belief in a system is required - otherwise it's akin to McCalls last season when he ran out of ideas.

McGinley does need a string of games - preferably in the position we signed him to play, He's either a centre back or left back. Not seen many signs that he's any use but that could change with a run in the same position. As for Mugabi - whilst improved , personal view is he's a liability . I don't think he's good enough.

I like home grown players. I've only really seen MaGuire a few times and he looked slow as a centre half. My frustration with Robbo is he thinks well let's see if he can play in another position and make it work. It rarely works. We should have let him go last season. We're only now considering him due to very poor transfer window .

we'd all love Aldred back. Carroll was ok defensively but also gave us options moving forward. Dunne is done. Nice fella but can't see him kicking a ball again.

spot on YTS. Complete agree with the tippy tappy giving teams too much time to shape. My biggest worry is there's no one who'll come back from injury that will make much difference. Carrol is a decent left back , Donnelly might help as the holding midfield player but in the round can't see it being a game changer. We look like a team who's run out of idea's and our gaffer sounds like a man who's run out of ideas.

Ha - I was thinking this last night. I'm reasonably convinced O'Donnell is a good standard for our team. I don't believe having a back 5 or him being some pseudo right mid works though. I'm a fan of 4 at the back , 2 wing backs and 2 in the centre. I think we'd see a more settled defence, including ODonnell and Gallagher. The other spots are up for debate.
-
completely agree - I had high expectations for O'Donnell. I had thought moving to a back 4 would see both wing backs push up but it's not happening. There's was acres of space on that pitch tonight and we really didn't use it.
-
He's poor. Tom Aldred feels like a long time ago.
-
Agree - Watt was excellent, got involved and able to draw free kicks.
-
I thought Grimmy did reasonably well. Sadly our squad isn't getting stronger , too many players aren't good enough as has been the case all season. Irrespective of poor defending we don't create chances.
-
I thought pre season things were looking well but with the loss of Turnbull and the complete average Jo's this is a hard hard season. Campbell, Watt, Carson are the players with passmarks so far this season .
-
he has been dreadful - absolutely dreadful
-
sadly we lack quality - lots of players who work hard but little creativity. Can't remember working their keeper or their defence.
-
shame we don't have decent wide players - this team were there for the taking.
-
so naive - pressed the self destruct button
-
get subs on - get long off - he's offered hee haw

can't see 11 men staying on the park at the end of this one.
