Just can’t help ourselves

We couldn’t see out a 3-0 lead against Hearts back in August never mind a 2-0 one which we have always struggled with. I know that this Kilmarnock team aren’t the Hearts side we played that day but we are still us so you just don’t know. Dare I say it, I think we will see this out today and get the win but we’ve got a lot of work to do to make that happen.

Really enjoyed that first half and deservedly 2-0 up. Not over yet though. The next 45 will tell us if we have learned any lessons from previous games when we’ve been in the driving seat.

Beautiful day for a trip down to Ayrshire. I love Ayrshire myself, lovely county, North East and South. Rolling hills and sandy beaches overlooking the firth of Clyde. And some towns and villages with such charming names like Auchinleck, Mauchline and Cumnock. Be even better if we bring three points back up the M77 today.

Exactly we just lack that bit of urgency when and where it matters and that’s what kills us. With the equaliser today Slattery doesn’t mess about with the corner, it goes in and we get the goal. Bingo!

2-0 defeat

Fair assessment from JBA post match basically saying we were second best and didn’t defend well enough. He needs to show that he and the team can learn from it though.

My mistake sorry. Yes we have won three league games. But that doesn’t change that both I mentioned were last gasp and one was down to a goalkeeper blunder. In this league to be in any way successful you have to be able to combine a degree of skill with an even bigger degree of physicality. Unfortunately for us we have a little bit of skill in the middle of the park and absolutely zero physicality so therefore we are an ineffective team.

I like him and you can see what he’s trying to do but it’s something that many before him have tried and failed to do. He won’t be here next season indeed I’ll be surprised if he lasts this one.

Sadly accurate. We’re good in the middle but ultimately ineffective as a team because we can’t win football matches. The two league games that we have managed to win have been last gasp and one of them was gifted to us by the opposition goalkeeper.

Absolutely disgraceful performance.

It was over as soon as they went 1 goal up. Our only chance today was scoring early and then adding a second to subdue them. They were always going to be too physical, too ‘streetwise’ for us.

No complaints so far. That first half sums up our season, plenty possession can’t do anything with it and we’re duly punished for it by a side who can actually put the ball in the net. This will end at least 0-3.
