Correct and Stevie Hammell genuinely was/is a club legend given the years of service, number of appearances and the fact that he was a stalwart in both really good and really terrible Motherwell sides. I was absolutely desperate for him to succeed as manager but it just didn’t happen and as horrible as it was to hear some fans singing “sacked in the morning” as he forlornly left the pitch at Starks Park after his final game there really was no other option than for him to go.

No, I want us to win. But if we don’t win then a defeat will be less harmful than a draw in the longer term because going six defeats on the bounce will speed up the inevitable. I’m using the give my own opinion method.

The last three home games against Hearts have ended level. Two 0-0s and a 1-1. Personally I think another draw today would be the worst result for us because all it would do is paper over the cracks and buy Johansson more time.

Club have just posted the promotion for the game today on the socials. it includes “take care when travelling. Allow extra time for travel disruption.” By the sounds of it they are expecting the game to go ahead.

Not good at all but not surprising if true. It would certainly explain the dismal performances and several players looking devoid of interest and direction during games. The sooner this charade ends the better for all concerned, AJ included. No harm to the guy but he is out of his depth and it’s not going to work out.

We’d still have found a way to lose.
