  1. Considering where we were at half time that is a great result and delighted for the lucky fans who got into Fir Park today.
  2. Subbed off for McGinley now. We’re obviously settling for 3-2.
  3. Superb character to turn this around. No more daft mistakes at the back now.
  4. 2-2!! Now let’s get this won before penalties.
  5. Agree that that’s what we need but we’ve needed a decent quality forward player/goalscorer since Louis Moult left nearly four years ago now. Our recent attempts at signing forward players has been woeful. Our best effort was Danny Johnson yet he was never given a proper chance.
  6. Just what we needed! Get in there!
  7. I know negativity is often frowned at on here but it is impossible to be anything but after that first half showing. On that evidence we are in serious bother this season. However, if there are any positives to take so far then I suppose it’s only half time so still time to get back in it, an early goal in the second half is a must. We’ve also not finished in the transfer market but the signs are that big, big improvements are needed to that team before the season starts in earnest.
  8. We have seen that type of goal conceded all too often over the past couple of years. A simple cross into the area, our defence stands flat footed and we are punished for it.
  9. 0-1 QoS Great to be back eh!
  10. Genuinely forgot Leeann Dempster was at Queen’s Park now until I heard her interviewed on Radio Scotland.
  11. Glad to have the real football back. Need to start with a win tonight, nothing less is acceptable. 3-1 ‘Well with Bob McHugh inevitably scoring for them.
  12. If I remember correctly that was actually our third strip for that season? Our away kit that year was white, we wore it in the majority of the League Cup run including the final.
  13. Unless we win one of the Cups in it…
  14. Yeah we’ve went from two absolutely cracking away kits to that. Really disappointing.
  15. ‘Livingston’ is the first word that came to mind when I saw it. Hopefully it will grow on me but first impression is that that’s an awful Motherwell FC away kit.
  16. Delighted with that news. Superb signing and even more so that it’s a three year deal.
  17. I’d really like to see Carson establish himself as No.1 again but sadly I think he’s finished. It’s a shame for him as he’s had a horrendous time of it over the last few years with illness and injury but I don’t think we can be looking at him to be our first choice goalkeeper going forward.

I don’t think it was simply down to the fact that he never smiled that got supporters backs up. It was more that he wasn’t contributing as much as he potentially could in games while his face was tripping him that riled people. As I said he was a decent player but just didn’t show it enough and wasn’t nearly good enough to get away with such an attitude. To draw a comparison, Scott McDonald was often a torn faced, whinging arse on the park and he frequently took the huff, but he compensated for it by working his arse off and being a quality player who was excellent in both spells for us. Thus while it was frustrating watching him throw his hands up and growl about the park, you knew that while he was on there he was always likely to contribute to the team.

Decent player, has a ability but unfortunately also has a stinking attitude.
  20. Exactly, there is absolutely no point in comparing the two signings. Vardy was a proven goalscorer, albeit in the conference league and scored 34 goals in 42 appearances for Fleetwood when Leicester signed him. We appear to have signed another - ANOTHER - forward/winger who can no doubt “play anywhere across the front three” and doesn’t boast a good track record of goal scoring. That’s what we’ve been crying out for for nearly four years now(a goalscorer that is). While I fully accept that going out and signing such a player is easier said than done, especially on our budget, what I cannot understand is why we seem to keep signing the same type of player when it’s patently obvious that that’s not what we need and it hasn’t exactly worked out for us in recent times with the several similar type of players that we’ve brought in. Hylton, Seedorf, Aarons spring to mind. Considering we’re forever being reminded how meagre our budget is then it’s highly important that we use it wisely.
  21. Another forward/winger from the arse end of the English leagues. I had hoped we’d moved away from this type of signing now that Robinson is away but it would appear not. Thoroughly uninspiring signing. That said, best of luck to the boy and hopefully I’ll be eating my words.

    Painfully so unfortunately.
