  1. Parkhead is one of the few grounds in Scotland I have never been to and have absolutely no intention of ever going to. The reasons given above are mainly my reasons for avoiding it too, plus the fact that we are almost guaranteed a drubbing on the park means it a trip to avoid. It’s bad enough having them at Fir Park with 4-6k of their fans without travelling to Glasgow, pay over the odds to sit in a corner surrounded by 60k of their odious, sanctimonious scumbag followers.
  2. The problem is that they are more often than not at least three or four goals up by the time they drop their tempo. They are absolutely ferocious in attack and the pace they play at is phenomenal.
  3. The team you support losing 10-0 would be hilarious because of the ‘meltdown’ of an anonymous Internet forum member? Each to their own but that’s pretty sad.
  4. If anything them losing to St.Mirren will make it even more impossible for us to get anything here other than an absolute hammering. 10(ten)-0 home win.
  5. Where and when did I say that I’d rather play like Robinson’s St.Mirren? Show me where I said that. I know you won’t, because you can’t, because I didn’t say that or anything like that. I watched Robinson’s Motherwell for three and a half years with many of the players he has at St.Mirren now and we never got close to a result like Saints got today in that time. And I’ve watched us under two different managers lose our last twelve (at least) straight games against Celtic and haven’t recorded a victory over them since 2015. More often than not we are beaten before a ball is kicked in these games.
  6. We’d be 2-0 down within the first 15 minutes. Aside from the obvious gulf in quality, there has been a serious issue with bottle in games against them and Rangers over the past few years, especially more so at Fir Park.
  7. Sickening tbh, we never get results like that these days.
  8. This match rescheduled for Tuesday 4th October.
  9. Possibly, but I’ll be surprised if next Sunday v. Hearts goes ahead.
  10. Talk is that the Queen’s funeral will be held on Monday 19th Sept. So therefore it’s almost a certainty that next week v Hearts will be off too.
  11. Almost definitely. Possibly even next weekends games too, depending on when the funeral is held.
  12. Well, it’s now been confirmed that the Queen has passed away. I’m not getting into any pro or anti debate as this thread is not the time or place for it. However from a purely footballing perspective, I would expect Saturday’s game to be off, indeed it almost certainly will be.
  13. Always more confident of a result facing them up there than at home and this one is no different. 2-0 to us.
  14. QF against Celtic confirmed for Wednesday 19th with a 6.15pm kick off.

    Penalties

Is that just for league games? I remember Foran scoring penalties against Celtic in a 3-2 loss, Hearts at Tynecastle and then in the LC Semi at Easter Road. He also missed one at Tynecastle late in the season. McBride scored from the spot against Hearts and Rangers in the league but can’t remember any more. edit: McBride scored a penalty against Morton at Cappielow in the League Cup.

    Penalties

In 2004/05 we had several penalties scored by Richie Foran and a few by Kevin McBride. Don’t know the exact number though but it certainly seemed like a lot.
  17. And Lee McCulloch and John Spencer too. Both ‘darlings’ of the support at the time but both missed more than they scored.
  18. He always looked like a capable striker……when he played against us for Partick Thistle.
  19. You must have forgotten about John Hendry, David Clarkson and Alex Burns then.
  20. I don’t think his bottle crashed today, it just didn’t happen for him. Unfortunately he’s not a 20+ goal a season striker and he often needs at least three scoring chances before he takes one. As someone further up the thread said, if he was more clinical then chances are he would be playing at a higher level than us.
  21. We are yes, slowly but surely. At least you can see that the manager has some kind of plan as opposed to Graham Alexander being happy to basically shitfest through games and hope we scrape points together.
  22. My pick as well. Solid and comfortable throughout.
  23. Obviously very frustrating not to have won that game given our overall dominance and the chances we created but there are lots of positives to take from that. Firstly, we didn’t get beat which you felt was a possibility having seen that ‘movie’ many times before. And our forward line apart we played really well today, indeed a lot better than we did a fortnight ago against Livingston or last week at Rugby Park. Young Tierney put in an excellent shift though you can see he has still got a bit to go in terms of his physicality at this level, but that will come. Spittal and Goss put in good performances as well and our backline were comfortable throughout, something we haven’t been able to say in a long while. Up front van Veen just had a bad day, it happens. He is still our main goal threat and on another day he takes at least one of his chances today. The penalty was poor, a good height for the keeper and he looked as though he tried too hard to burst the net with his effort that hit the bar. As for Efford, he just won’t do I’m afraid. All in all a good performance but hugely annoying not have won especially with a tough run of fixtures coming up.
