  1. Makes a good advert for the necessity of a solid defence...
  2. These ‘pitches’ have no place in elite sport.
  3. I didn't realise plastic shite could freeze.
  4. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/transfer-news-live-celtic-rangers-28962604 Riku Danzaki to Motherwell latest Motherwell have started the work permit process for Japanese midfielder Riku Danzaki, writes Scott Burns. The Steelmen have agreed personal terms with the 22-year-old. They have also agreed a deal for Danzaki to be released from his contract commitments at Consadole Sapporo and his loan at Brisbane Roar. The Fir Park side are now hoping that they will be given the green light to finalise Danzaki’s move to Scotland, over the coming weeks. Motherwell boss Stevie Hammell has already brought in Shane Blaney, Mikael Mandron and Ollie Crankshaw in this window. They are also waiting to see if Ipswich Town will extend defender Matt Penney’s loan for the rest of the season. Meanwhile, Sheffield United have taken Motherwell youngster Jevan Beattie on trial. The teenage striker - who is the son of former Scotland and Celtic star Craig Beattie - is training at Bramall Lane this week. The English Championship side are running the rule over the young striker. Beattie has come through the youth ranks at Motherwell and has now been offered a full-time contract at Fir Park, now that he has turned 16. If he does move south then Motherwell would be entitled to training compensation.
  5. I agree. I would have him start over the likes of Spittal, Goss, Slattery, Maguire, and then build the midfield around him. Otherwise, I fear he'll become a wasted talent at Motherwell.
  6. Spittal has 3 goals and 4 assists in the league this season, but there is no doubt that he is as slow as a week in the jail and he cannot tackle or put himself into a 50/50. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/blair-spittal/leistungsdaten/spieler/251587
  7. Yep. As I’ve said elsewhere, Hammy’s seemingly blind allegiance to the supposed senior professionals will see us relegated.
  8. Continuing with Sol and Lamie will see us relegated and Hammy lose his job.
  9. Penney seems to have had his head turned by something since the turn of the year. He was excellent until then.
  10. Shields - a failed project Woolery - decent on his day and I think we got a small fee for him Kelly - good keeper Slattery - lazy diver; a wasted talent Sol - crap Tierney - a work in progress; promising
  11. Let's hope both your assertions come true this week.
  12. If it weren't for the Joe Bloggs' of the world, we wouldn't all be here on this football fan forum talking shite and trying to out-shite one another.
  13. In a perfect world scenario, yes, I would hope so. However, I'm not sure it will work out like that, and the changing of CEO at a crucial stage for the Club may have a part to play in that belief.
  14. I honestly don't see that this squad and management has it in them to roll the sleeves up. Hammy is too nice. He comes across as good guy. A bit like Solskjaer being everyone's friend at Man Utd and failing until Ten Hag came in and showed his ruthlessness to fix things. The squad is clearly full of too many wimps who shirk out of every 50/50. We have no enforcer/captain on the pitch either. We're soft as shite, and Arbroath will know this.
  15. For me there is another concern. That is, if we beat Arbroath and he drags us over the line to maintain our Premiership status, his soft demeanour and continual rookie mistakes don't exactly inspire me with confidence for the longer term. I don't want him sacked, but I fear accepting the cheap and untested option has destined us to a future of fighting for our Premiership lives every season until the inevitable.
  16. The team underperforming and continually making basic errors that lead to us losing/drawing games is nothing to do with the crowd being supportive or exasperated. The players simply aren't good enough and the manager refuses to drop those who make those continual errors. It's that simple. At the final whistle yesterday there was only a complete silence. No boos, no applause, just a vacuum. It spoke volumes to me. The fans have lost the will to even show emotion, and that is purely caused by having to watch the same shite make the same shite mistakes every week for months. We have only won 1 game at home all season, and the crowd has been big and buoyant for the most part, even in horrendous wintery conditions.
  17. Lamie is just as crap. Both need dropped.
  18. And the second fatal mistake was extending his contract against all common sense.
  19. This squad is devoid of fight and talent. We will lose.
  20. Blaney (left-sided) and McGinn (right-sided) should be given the nod as the back 2 next game. The worst that happens is we lose again.
  21. Hammy likes to talk about ownership and the individual errors that cost us games. Perhaps he should take some ownership and drop the likes of Sol and Lamie who cost us goals nearly every game. We can't continue with this cycle of rinse and repeat; it's madness.
  22. Shields isn't good enough. He's done nothing over the past 18 months to suggest otherwise. In fact, Crankshaw showed more promise in one game today than I can recall Shields ever showing.
  23. I hear what you're saying, but Hammy's loyalty to the likes of Lamie and Sol will see us continue to concede cheap goals. I reckon the kitman and physio would make a more reliable defensive partnership than those two donkeys.
