  1. I've lived in Nottingham for 18 years & every year I hope we might have a pre-season tour down this way.

We could play the likes of Mansfield Town, Notts County, Chesterfield, Alfreton Town.

Would be nice from a purely selfish point of view...

  2. The fat waste of space is still beeling :fuck:

    From Evening Times http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/rangers/gers-legend-dj-blasts-motherwell-star-lee-erwin-over-bilel-mohsni-fir-208949n.127870117

RANGERS legend Derek Johnstone insists it is a scandal that Motherwell starlet Lee Erwin has walked away Scot-free after starting the post-match brawl that landed three of his team-mates in hot water along with Bilel Mohsni.

Ibrox defender Mohsni has been charged with excessive misconduct by the SFA after reacting to a push in the back by punching and kicking Erwin in the immediate aftermath of his side's SPFL Premiership play-off defeat at Fir Park and will find out the full extent of his punishment when a Judicial Panel convenes on June 18.

Mohsni was red-carded by referee Craig Thomson in the tunnel and already has a four-game suspension on his record. Excessive misconduct carries a minimum four-match ban if the player is found guilty and can result in an additional 16-match suspension.

The Tunisian defender has left Rangers and will have to serve the ban at his next club.

But Motherwell pair Lionel Ainsworth and Craig Moore have both accepted two-game bans for their roles in the melee with Fraser Kerr having also been red-carded after the match for wrestling with Mohsni.

It had been reported that Erwin, tipped to join Leeds United in a £500,000 deal despite being offered an extended contract by the Steelmen, received a red card along with Mohsni on Sunday.

But Motherwell confirmed last night that he received a retrospective caution from Thomson for "adopting an aggressive attitude".

"Mohsni was way out of order, but there is no doubt that Erwin was to blame for it all," said Johnstone. "He started it and the fact he is receiving no punishment other than a yellow card is an absolute nonsense.

"He is essentially walking away Scot free and I find that incredible. It is absolute tosh. The authorities ought to have a good look at themselves over this.

"From what we have heard, Erwin tried to shake Mohsni's hand and he told him to eff off.

"Erwin should just have got on with it, but, for some strange reason, he opted to push him in the back and we are not talking about a gentle push here.

"It was done with two hands and I have no idea why he did it. It was not the worst offence in the world, but it did spark the trouble.

"Of course, Mohsni should never, ever react the way he did. It was ridiculous and he should be hammered.

"If Erwin does not push Mohsni, though, we don't have that confrontation at full-time, we don't have red cards being given out and Motherwell can celebrate while Rangers walk off the park.

"As it is, another Motherwell player was given a red card on the day and two more have been pulled up by the SFA."

Ainsworth accepted a two-game ban for striking Mohsni on the back of the head while Moore was punished for attempting to strike the Rangers defender with his hand.

"All this came about because of one piece of complete stupidity," said Johnstone. "There was no need for Erwin to do what he did."

  3. Just had a listen to that, no words can explain how much of a banger Chic Young is. That patter about the ticket allocation upsetting the fans is ridiculously baw heided and pure flawed logic, shower of bitter bastards.

Alan Burrows represented the club tremendously as always.

I listened to it last night & Chic having a go about the tickets & suggesting this could have been the cause of the trouble was absolutely bizarre!

Strange a St Mirren fan being so upset that there wasn't more h**ns allowed in to the match...

Louis Laing resigned to leaving Nottingham Forest

Louis Laing on loan at Notts County.

Louis Laing says as far as he knows Nottingham Forest will not be extending his contract at the City Ground this summer.

The Reds have a one-year extension option on the 22-year-old defender's deal.

But the Post has already reported it is unlikely to be activated, with Forest boss Dougie Freedman prepared to allow Laing to leave the club.

And Laing looks resigned to becoming a free agent and appears open to a permanent move to Scottish Premier League side Motherwell, where he has been on loan from the Reds since January after an earlier loan spell at Notts County.

Laing was signed by former Forest boss Stuart Pearce last July.

He never played a game for the Reds last season, but did well across the River Trent at Meadow Lane and then at Motherwell, who are managed by former Notts and Mansfield Town player Ian Baraclough.

Laing helped them avoid relegation from the Scottish top flight following a play-off final win over Rangers – a tie that ended in an ugly brawl.

"I'm not sure what's happening next season," said Laing.

"As far as I know, I am a free agent.

"I have really loved it here. Would I like to stay? Yes, probably, but you never know what's going to happen.

"Motherwell is a great club. It has a great fan base, the manager is fantastic, everyone here is a great guy and I am really enjoying it."

  5. Some of the meltdowns on facebook and twitter have to be seen to be believed. These are folk I know with proper jobs, kids etc, so called "decent" rangers fans. They've lost the plot. Proper bat shit crazy conspiracy theories and wanting justice for sectarian provocation from Erwin etc....Apparently Motherwell are now the number 1 enemy of Rangers! Ha ha!

    Mental. And yet totally predictable.

The Scottish government should look for ways to harness the seethe from the orcs.....you could power a field of wind turbines for years!!!

Got to say, that gives me a nice warm feeling inside hearing that :spiteful:

  6. Motherwell play-off ticket snub to Rangers could turn second-leg of final into a laughing stock, warns DJ

IBROX legend Derek Johnstone has launched a blistering assault on Motherwell over their decision to hand only 1,500 tickets to Rangers fans for the second leg of the SPFL Premiership play-off final.

The Fir Park side have infuriated the Light Blue legions by giving them only one-third of the South Stand at Fir Park following a breakdown in negotiations between the clubs over ticketing arrangements.

It is understood Motherwell believed they had secured 2,000 briefs for Thursday night's Ibrox showdown and were prepared to hand 4,800 to Rangers supporters.

However, they were given an allocation of 950 and Johnstone insists their response is set to turn Scottish football into a laughing stock by leaving a large section of the ground empty for such a showpiece fixture.

Hibs limited the allocation to Rangers supporters for the second leg of the semi-final after being denied a request for more Ibrox tickets and that match was played out with the away stand only around half-full.

"I think it is an absolute nonsense," said Johnstone. "I can understand why Motherwell are doing it because they are only getting

950 tickets for the first leg, but that is all they would take for a league game anyway.

"Rangers have sold out their stadium for the game. They are quite right to do what they have done.

"Motherwell wanted 2,000 tickets for Ibrox and didn't get them, so they are only willing to give 1,500 now.

"Fine. If that is the way you want to be, it is your home game and your choice.

"It is your stadium and you can do what you like, but it looks absolutely stupid.

"People down south will watch the game. There was a stand half-empty at Easter Road in the semi-final and it will be the same again at Fir Park.

"It looks absolutely ridiculous from the point of view of a spectacle for television.

"We are trying to get people to invest in the game and we are desperate to get people into grounds, but we are going to lock 3000 people out of the play-off final.

"Motherwell are saying they would rather leave half a stand empty. It is ridiculous."

Motherwell have announced that they are restricting the sale of tickets for Sunday's second leg to season ticket holders, Well Society members and those already registered on their ticketing database in an attempt to stop Rangers supporters sitting in sections reserved for home fans.

However, Johnstone has been informed that a number of Rangers supporters have already reserved seats in the Motherwell end and knows the security concerns that will bring.

"That is the worry and it is going to be down to Motherwell," he said.

"I have heard of Rangers fans getting tickets in the Motherwell sections.

"I am not going to say that there is going to be trouble, but it could cause problems and Motherwell have to take the blame."

The guy is an absolute twat!

"I am not going to say that there is going to be trouble, but it could cause problems and Motherwell have to take the blame."

    Really Derek ya fuckin' retard?!

Hopefully we make it a very disappointing evening for them!

Well tie gets star billing by Stjarnan

MOTHERWELL's Icelandic rivals Stjarnan have billed tomorrow's crucial second leg as the biggest match in the club's history.

The two teams met at Fir Park last week in a tense and frustrating Europa League second round qualifier first leg which ended 2-2 in dramatic fashion.

An early two-goal lead for Stuart McCall's men was eventually broken down by their plucky visitors, who had just 22 fans inside Fir Park to witness their side score a penalty either side of half-time to gain the upper hand in the tie.The two teams met at Fir Park last week in a tense and frustrating Europa League second round qualifier first leg which ended 2-2 in dramatic fashion.

Motherwell are expected to fly out this morning to Iceland, and are well aware of the wave of confidence Stjarnan are currently riding high on.

The European debutants, nicknamed the Star, have now scored 10 goals in their three games so far.

And after a 3-1 win over Fylkir on Sunday, they now sit top of the Urvalsdeild league table, with Celtic's Champions League opponents KR Reykjavik languishing seven points behind in fourth.

Stjarnan bosses have urged their fans to pack out the 1000-capacity Samsung Vollurinn Stadium tomorrow for the landmark moment in their club's 54-year history.

A club statement read: "It was a great experience for Stjarnan to play at Fir Park.

"Motherwell started the first game with power. Our men worked hard and bore great respect for the Scottish.

"The home team came immediately into a 2-0 lead and the layout was not good. But, of course, the team came back as soon as the respect for the Scottish subsided.

"Any real Stjorunmenn need to attend the stadium and encourage our people forward.

"Make sure you target the biggest game in the history of the Star."

A date in the third qualifying round awaits the winner, with either Nomme Kalju of Estonia or Lech Poznan of Poland waiting for them.

The Estonians are currently 1-0 ahead after the first leg in Tallinn.

It's high Society for Well re-launch

THE Well Society hope to hit their £800,000 cash target in four months as they prepare to launch a new campaign to attract more members to the Steelmen cause.

Despite several years of on-field success, finances are still tight at Fir Park and the Society stepped in last season to loan the club £230,000, just 12 months after £150,000 was ploughed in to help Well through a cash flow shortage.Despite several years of on-field success, finances are still tight at Fir Park and the Society stepped in last season to loan the club £230,000, just 12 months after £150,000 was ploughed in to help Well through a cash flow shortage.

The group, made up of fans, have raised just over half the funds they require to acquire a majority stake in the club as former chairman John Boyle looks to hand over his shares to the supporters.

Boss Stuart McCall led his side to second place in the Premiership last term, once again clinching European football this season, but the club still reported a six-figure financial loss.

And the Well Society are now set to up their efforts to attract more members and money as they attempt to play their part in ensuring a bright future at Fir Park.

A statement read: "The Well Society board is finalising plans for an imminent new campaign to raise money as we strive to reach the target set by the club.

"A steering group has been formed to look into various ways of supplementing membership income as we seek to hit the £800,000 mark by the end of November.

"This is being operated by board members Robert Montgomery, Brian McCafferty and Tom Feeley, who are liaising closely with Motherwell Football Club.

"The group is working on fresh ways of raising money such as soft loans and donations from Motherwell-minded business people and others who support the idea of community ownership.

"Graham Barnstaple has temporarily stepped back from his role as chairman because of work and family commitments.

"Graham will still be involved in the society and remains committed to its goals but is unable devote the time necessary to lead efforts at the moment. Brian McCafferty will act as chairman for the time being.

"Other board members and volunteers are continuing to work on recruitment, fund-raising events, communications/publicity and membership participation."
