Shaun Fagan must be in with a shout. Surely.

Did he mention the board telling him to change the style and put in young players or he would be getting his P45?
Where did you hear that?

I worry after seeing yesterdays game that unless we get a fit Turnbull and/or Tanner back soon our midfield is nowhere near good enough to be thinking about anything other that just staying up.......it’s early days but Polworth looks weak and disappears from games (all be it he plays 2/3 eye catching passes a game) and Donnelly, whilst trying hard most of the time is simply not good enough with the ball at his feet to be the constructive influence we need in that position. Really hope we’re still in the market for a holding midfielder that can pass the ball, otherwise we’re in for a season of watching Dunne hit a lot of long diagonals straight out the pitch!
Sloth is the man for the role.

I don’t get this sign an experienced striker. Why? Scott looks the real deal. He is strong, skilful and is starting to find the net. He has started this season like he finished the last - scoring goals. I say stick with him as the number one striker.

Manzinga - what a name. He could be absolute shite, but to have a player who sounds like a porn star is a new high for Motherwell.
We are also assembling quite easily the coolest looking squad in the division. Key move was to get rid of the ginger and bring in the Zinga!

I would take Lafferty but he would need to take helluva pay cut. He knows Robinson from NI connection and when Robbo was involved with national team
If he is released from Rangers then he is earning £0 - anything is a wage rise. Also factor in that he has hardly kicked a ball in about a year and I can’t see a huge amount of clubs swooping in to get him.
-
You have to remeber he never actually had an injury. It was a preventative operation that would have been completed via Keyhole surgery on an already fully operational knee.
My wife who is a physio for the NHS says he should recover very quickly from the actual operation. I suppose the time consuming part is getting back to a match fitness. But she was sayiing it is very possible he is back to full fitness by November.

He played in a 3-2 win against Dundee yesterday alongside Tanner in midfield
Is there any info on this game? Who scored for us?
-
I thought some of the lay off headers Scott made in the second half were outstanding. Each time it almost resulted in a goal for Hylton.
-
Ilic is a superb footballer. Looks a real find.
Polworth also was excellent.
Scott starting to look like the real deal.
-
Based on us almost having a new team to pick from, what would be your starting 11?
Carson
Carrol
Hartley
Dunne
Tait
Sloth
Campbell
Grimshaw
Ilic
Long
Seedorf
I honestly just made all that up, but when you look at the squad now we have a huge amount to choose from. And if Tanner is back fit and Turnbull is back before Christmas then it’s looking very promising.

I see St Mirren are looking at Stevie May. I reckon we would be a great club for him to rejuvenate himself with. Always liked him and while it's not worked out at Aberdeen, he was essentially doing the Curtis Main role for them last season. If Robinson wants a similar setup and could somehow get May to find his confidence and shooting boots, he could be a great addition.
Stevie May? Nope.

Right guys what I’ve heard is that Southampton have made a bid matching Celtics offer.

From where Johnstone ? You are not normally a bullshitter, but if true surprised none of the media have picked up on it yet.
If some team met our fee and loaned us him back that would be the ideal scenario, but also the most unlikely one sadly.
Celtic fans are turning against the idea now as he has has the audacity to say no. Something does not add up. Turnbull does not strike me as the type of guy that is on circa £1000 per week and would demand more than £10,000 as is being reported in most of the papers.
Some soap opera this is turning out to be.
Heard from a few people that Man City have asked Motherwell to be kept up to date with his transfer developments.

Rumours of Man City folks...

A disaster if we keep our best player!
The idea that if a transfer isn't done by the middle of June we won't sell him is a bit daft. There has hardly been any transfer business done yet in England.
As I say, if's and buts. I would love him to stay, but I think Motherwell as a business are looking at the long game and the huge difference the money would make to the club. As you say though plently more fish in the sea!
-
This could be a disaster for Motherwell as if the deal falls through, then no other club could be willing to pay the £3 million.
Might mean he stays with us for another season or the club have to accept a lower offer.
All ifs and buts i suppose.

Hold off for a wee while longer
Fair enough, but we don’t know what the other bids were like. Maybe they got 9 bids of around the million mark and then Celtic have came in with 3. As a club I just don’t think that is something we can turn down.

Out of interest when is the last time the old firm paid 3 million for a Scottish player from the Scottish Premiership ?
Scott Brown from Hibs to Celtic was around the 4 million mark I think.

Out of interest if you were in Burrows shoes in regards to the sale of our young talent what would you do?

James Scott will not be away in January nor will Polworth or Gallagher. We don’t need to sell them so no Scottish club can afford them and with Scott if an English club came in it would have to be 3 million. That’s the price.
