  1. But is 7.00 o'clock really any earlier than 9.00 for a drink , or you just not got anything in the fridge - reckon the Cooper is going to be jumpin. Its also time for payback for 1969 - an early introduction for this steelman to the disappointment of defeat at the national stadium.
  2. Yip - been awake for ages - dressed and ready to go, Just cannae settle and been like this for days. C'mon 'well - as the banner read "its time for new heroes".
  3. Prices have to be agreed by all semi-finalists though, not just us and the Perth Saintees.
  4. "That's us both seen a cup win" - to my dad with tears streaming down both our faces (as they are just now recalling the memory).
  5. Where'll it be for that one though - M&D's, JD's or Fir Park
  6. Wisnae Ally it was Ian St John that had that installed - so he could see more of the game and not just the players knees.
  7. That's scary - remember it well, I think. Went in front early on, then the roof caved in. In fariness Utd were a smashing team at that time, but we Jim McLean, might have been a bit OTT when he fined them for not being entertaining? Pie - you're right mate it is a no brainer (damn TV, Rail companies, SKY and Gadaffi) - 4 of us travelling up with the Wishy branch, looking forward to it.
  8. Be surpirised if there is anything approaching the supports we took the last twice we visited on Cup duty. You going?
  9. Obviously only saw her from a distance (ie Oz) - her face had more marks than a German bank
  10. Andy Goram? - possibly the best shotstopper ever in the Scottish game. Peter McCloy was error prone Keith McCrae - Agile and Confident Shuggie - extrovert, but again prone to a howler or two - Jamie Fairley running the ball in from the half-way line against Accies at FP - having succesfully beaten our last line of defence to the ball in their half - springs immediately to mind. Stuart Rennie - Clossus and assured - remember him playing second half against Killie with stitches in what had been a gaping head wound and along with Jimmy O'Rourke, inspiring the 'well to a 5-3(?) win after being 2-0 down at half-time. Sieb Sykstra - see Stuart Rennie Of the rest the only one that merits any real mention is Ally Maxwell - purley for his heroics in 1991. Darren Randolph? For me? Splits Andy Goram and Keith McCrae, in that order.
  11. LOL - visit to the Opticians required - either that or your a referee on the Grade One list.
  12. Now there is no option but to live within our means - thanks John . Can only echo the sentiments of others - If I had the funds would I have done anything different - don't think so - Good Luck.
  13. Might it not be at that time because there is a game tonight
  14. Thank god others don't have quite have the same cynical attitude as you do - and yes you are right the majority of the girls had chosen a team to support - and it was MFC. Those who become C&A members, will probably already have that allegiance, therefore it is no gain in attracting young supporters. Unlikely that the Soccer Shools will introduce anybody who the club are not already aware of, in playing terms, to the Club. Again they are likely to already have a link with the Club. The whole excerise was by and large self-funding (parents paid £25.00 per month to see their offspring run out in C&A and I understand the club benefited from grant funding as a result of having a Girls team), arranged fundraising to purchase medals and equipment. Little was asked of the Club financially or supportively and in true Motherwell style, little was given. Doubt whether anyone has been fleeced - so sorry to disappoint you. What might have been daft was allowing their heart to rule their head - the vast majority of the parents, girls, volunteer coaches and organisors were/are Motherwell supporters and wanted nothing more than play for a team that bore the name MFC Girls. Your attitude quite frankly stiinks and I trust you will know doubt have plenty to say, when at the next opportunity you are being fleeced by Motherwell. Crawl back under your stone.
  15. Not so much to do with getting a pitch to play on - though that is a bonus , more to do with the total lack of interest in all things to do with the Girls section. At a time when virtually every other SPL team is encouraging growth in this area, MFC are left with no representation at any level in the women's game. As I said earlier all the parents paid for the privilege of their daughters turning out in the Claret and Amber and to be treated in such a derisory way is quite frankly disappointing to say the least. 'Scotland's Community Club'? - my arse - time to ditch the slogan
  16. Loved the Liverpool banner at Stamford Bridge the other week - "He who betrays always walks alone". Obviously more suited to Liverpool Love "We're only here out of common courtesy", far more apt
  17. Didn't think the feeling of beating McGhee's Aberdeen would be eclipsed - but it has, oh the sweet glow of contentment
  18. Yes - the 'choir' was bolstered by some friendly lads from Govan that night. Game played under protest - due to a flu outbreak in the squad.
  19. Not even worthy of debate - MFC everytime.
  20. No need to justify your non-attendance to me or anyone else - my comment was tongue-in-cheek. Anyway I'm sure the 'true' supporters will be there and won't be long in telling us that they will .
  21. Possibly - but his reason was that 'away games cost too much' - none of the other futile excuses that you've trotted out.
  22. Hmmm - Can't see the why you would miss it because it was on the Sunday, it would still have been an away game on the Saturday
  23. What Irish guy? EDIT - its OK realised you were talking about Gunning after I posted.
  24. Urban Myth I believe. Their names were on a list circulated to a lot of clubs, ours being one of them. Don't believe they ever pulled on their boots at Dalziel Park, or wherever we trained in those days.
