  1. My reason for thinking we'll struggle next season is really down to our poor league form last season, if Aberdeen and Hibs hadn't been so woeful I reckon we'd have finished much lower than we did. As it is I really cant see Hibs being as bad as they were last year. If it wasn't for the Cup runs I think we'd be looking at last season as being fairly ordinary.
  2. My thoughts exactly, have the Trust given up their pursuit of a seat on the board then?
  3. Hardly describes the 3-1 scoreline but I'll take your word for it, a friend who was there said we were fine first half and shite the second. I
  4. A Cup Final isn't much to play for? Come on man, ffs we should have had players champing at the but to get picked for the final, instead we were going through the motions and that was the attitide we took into the final.
  5. Isn't that what the Supporters Advisory Committee is for?
  6. Oddly enough, I'm wearing my Xara top at this very minute.
  7. I cant see anything positive fior us next season, or league form in the latter end of last season was nothing less than shocking. After beating celtic at Fir Park we slumped to two appalling defeats to ICT and Killie and from then on in, the Cup run apart, the only decent performace was the comeback against Hearts. We shipped 17 goals in the last 5 games including the Cup Final. We haven't strengthened anywhere we've just replaced Sutton with Higdon. Frankly, I think we'll struggle and I reckon relegation could be a threeway battle between us, St Mirren and Killie. Couldn't give a toss which of the bigots wins it but think it'll still be Hearts and Dundee United in the Europa places.
  8. No, I'm not looking at it as an investment, but I'm pretty sure the club will. I would expect them to have that money working for them while it's doing nothing, and for any interest accrued to go to the club. Surely that makes sense, or would you rather they stuck it under the mattress until they needed it? I haven't downcried it at all, I dont know enough about it to make any informed comment, and neither does anyone else. I have criticised the way the club has handled it so far, but that's it. If, and at the moment it's a massive huge if, I choose to spent my £300, or more, on a share, I will consider that the end of the transaction. It will be an investment in the club it's up to them what they do with it, but I would hope that financial prudence would see them invest it sensibly to earn as much as possible, for the club, through a high yield low risk account. I think you should try reading peoples posts properly rather than trying to read between the lines and lumping your prejudices on other people. The key line in my post which should have given you a clue as to what I meant was...... it would be more profitable for the club to invest the total sum, rather than say 60 or 70% of it with the rest
  9. ....or wear last season's.
  10. Selling season tickets is a different ball game from making financial investments. Most accounts with high interest yields are built around the "lump sum" investor therefore it would be more profitable for the club to invest the total sum, rather than say 60 or 70% of it with the rest coming in on monthly deposits. That's the reason I think any payment plans will be financed.
  11. Neutral grounds is it? I think you mean HALF the teams.
  12. I cant see the club being happy with any amount of this cash being tied up in monthly direct debits, so it's much more likely to be financed.
  13. The Luzhniki hada 5 Star rating but UEFA still made them replace the artificial turf for the Champions League final.
  14. It's an SPL rule but I think there is also a UEFA rule as well, when Man Ure beat Chelsea in the Champions League final in Moscow, the Russians had to dig up their artificial turf and relay grass for the final.
  15. I hope the club have taken into consideration the possibilty of a downturn in other areas. While some people may splash out the £300 it may be at the expense of a new shirt, or even a season ticket. Not everybody can afford to lay out that kind of cash without cutting back elsewhere.
  16. I'm not sure where you're coming from in your first sentence, and I really dont know how anything I've said can be construed as selfish. For a start the club has been pushing this "community" thing for some time now, and John Boyle in his farwell address mentioned exactly what was to be done with his shares and that the club would be operating the scheme. So I'm fairly certain that anyone who takes more than a passing interest in the club would be aware of the clubs proposals vis a vis becoming a community club. The mention of the first level of £300 is not just allowing people to consider it's going to get them something they've always wanted it's also allowing people to say "thats a bit steep, i'm already struggling to pay for my season ticket". The one vote regardless of the financial outlay may see some people saying "sod that £300 will do me". It's one thing to keep the concept in the public eye that's fine and dandy and it's perecisely what the club should be doing, but to release details before the whole thing is finalised is crazy. I've been involved in these type of things before and on 9 out of 10 occasions when everything has been finalised you find that something you ratified right at the start is no longer suitable for the finished project and it gets dropped. That's one reason for keeping the details close to your chest, another is it starts rumour and speculation some of which can backfire badly. Release all the info, and answer all the questions at the one time and you look as if you've done a professional job and that gives the investor a bit of confidence. I'd rather they told us when they were ready to tell us everything and ready to answer any questions.
  17. The concept's been out there for a while mate, I'm talking about the finer points, how it all works, what each level will cost, will the subsequent fee be another £300, or will it be set at a figure to top up whats been used out of the fund? What sort of financial target are we looking at, and what happens if the take up fails to reach that target? To be honest I think this whole project needs to be treated with a bit more seriousness than has been shown so far.
  18. The only extra info from that is the mention of a subsequent fee, which was a fairly obvious requirement anyway so isn't exactly earthshattering. I'd much rather hear about this as and when the club are ready to publish full details of the scheme rather than pick up dribs and drabs imparted through the press. It's one thing running wee teasers about a new strip, but treating the financial future of the club in the same manner appals me.
  19. They'd be wrong then because St Mirren are doing something similar.
  20. I'm well aware of where the idea comes it's been mooted for quite some time but we still have no hard and fast ideas of the practicalities of the concept and how it is going to work. Ms dempsters interview in the Herald was appalling it gave nothing new away except for hinting at the lower level being £300 and there being maybe one or two more levels. It helped no-one and yet we had guys on here claiming it was a brilliant idea. While others may jump upon the concept and herald it as a step forward for the club, I would much rather wait for the full details of the proposal before making my mind up. From what has been said and from what I know of these things I'm extremely wary, . The idea of one vote per person regardless of financial outlay strikes me as being more than slightly unfair to those who may wish to invest more than the initial, let's say £300. Would larger investors not be put off by that? I mean why would I invest say £10k, when I can obtain the same influence for £300. If it works, and believe me, that is one big IF. The big decisions that directly affect the fans, particularly ticket costs, also directly affect the club but in a different way, so when asked for your vote are you voting as a fan, or for the club?
  21. This isn't something we should be issuing teasers about, this is a huge undertaking and needs a lot of research and consultations both with the fans and with local businesses. Only once that has been done can we start bandying figures about. If we dont know how many levels there are how can we know what sort of figure we'lll be charging at the lower level, or what sort of income we should be looking at? My problem is not with Ms Dempster herself it's with the way she does things, she did the exact same thing with the sponsorship saga at the beginning of the season remember the infamous comment " every other clubs fans will be envious once we unveil our new sponsor" that obviously fell through and we started out without a fecking sponsor for our European ties. She shouldn't be mentioning figures until the whole thing is complete it's appalling business practice. I aint gonna chill because this is my club she's fucking about with.
  22. Precisely, she should have kept her trap buttoned until there was something concrete to talk about.
